I cannot get over how elegant this silhouette is. The length and fluffiness of the skirt, the contrast of the colours, the fit on the body. This custom is so beautiful
This costume looks like a hanbok much earlier than that of the Joseon Dynasty, not what we commonly know. Just as Western dresses have evolved, Hanbok has evolved by the times. The form in the video is seen as a hanbok form from Goguryeo to Goryeo. The design is well designed to suit modern times. It's pretty!🥰👏🏻
That too! It looks comfortable and practical to wear while still having a really special feel to it No corset, garter, strapless top to pull up all night, or difficult zips to worry about. Bonus too that it looks rather cozy, with multiple layers and a coat.
I am Korean and the hanboks in this video are really beautiful! But what you have to do exactly is that all of these things are modern. Since Hanbok is a clothing that maintains tradition and is making modern development, many modern hanboks are also made. However, in Korea, traditional wedding hanboks called 'hwarot' and 'wonsam' are still used. They have mainly red, green, navy, and gold colors, and are decorated with colorful numbers and gold leaf, and are much heavier and longer than ordinary hanboks. RM of BTS once donated 100 million won to preserve the hwarot relics. Anyway, Hanbok is really beautiful.💜
I've been reading comments that this is not strictly a Korean wedding dress, & I have no idea, but I will say that this seems to be a blending of cultures, styles, modern & traditional, & it is beautiful. Look what happens when we all work together & respect each others' ways!
My aunt by marriage is Korean. We had a full Korean ceremony and I had my own "bridesmaid" dress. I'm 50 now and still have it. One thing I will never let go waiting for my cousin to have a daughter to pass it to her😁
Very beautiful! I love it! One thing I want everyone to keep in mind is that Hanbok has huge variety of its designs because it’s been around for over centuries. It changed a lot over time and I am guessing the one she’s wearing is very close to what we wore in Goguryeo dynasty, or it could be just fusion/modernized hanbok. Not technically a wedding wear for sure because they usually happened to appear in the most known hanbok form. Not saying hanboks were worn for specific occasions in the past, although it is now since we don’t wear much, you can wear hanbok to anywhere just like you wear your daily wear to everywhere.
This is a modern variation of the traditional Hanbok! Younger Koreans and more progressive designers have found fun ways to experiment and develop the old design while keeping all the important elements that make a Hanbok a Hanbok (directional design, colors, materials, shapes, etc.)
Hanbok is not only modern, but there are many types Besides the Joseon Dynasty hanbok that we know well, there is also the Gojoseon costume from the Three Kingdoms period
I just had to add my 2 cents. I’m all in favor of modernization and evolution of hanbok, but the caption says “traditional” and as the commenter above notes, this is not a “traditional” gown, at least not in terms of the typical 20th c. bridal hanbok (as another commenter noted, hanbok has changed over time anyway), although it is very elegant and chic with the white and black colors and calligraphy. It’s like a fusion with other Asian and Western influences.

I m Chinese, I can READ certain characters on the outer most dress. I m not here for dispute, but those characters were 金文(a version of Chinese writings) in Chinese word history, for example the little human figure with a circle as its head and its arm cheerfully raised in the air, means child(子) in 金文Chinese. When that character stood under roof-like strokes, and two hand looking shapes appears above the roof holding two calculate chips(算筹), it implies the child is learning math under a roof, ie, studying in school. That word means study, or to study.(学) So. It’s controversial. I don’t know Korean word history. Above are things that I know. Anyone wants to talk about it? -followup: I m back from 金文dictionary, I identified serval other words: 王、或、六、赐、白、小、入、吉、村(very similar but not identical)、周、射(very similar but not identical)。However, I also discover some characters on this dress exhibited rules that conflicted Chinese writing rules(at least Chinese writing rules in my understanding), their word part(偏旁)put in very strange way, and that from the words I understand, I couldn’t see any consistent meaning, thus I suspect words on this dress could be cut off from both Chinese and non Chinese writings.

as a non korean I have no idea if it is a traditional attire or if its a modernized version, but I will say I have seen some wedding ceremonies that incorporate the hanbok and let me say that I would personally choose to marry in the traditional attire rather than a white wedding dress because they are just so beautiful.
한복 너무 이뻐요 ~~
It's so pretty! And it looks comfortable
That's actually really pretty!! ❤️✨
OOOMMMGGGG!!! Love it 😍😍😍😍😍
Looks so comfy
I m Chinese, I can READ certain characters on the outer most dress.
I m not here for dispute, but those characters were 金文(a version of Chinese writings) in Chinese word history, for example the little human figure with a circle as its head and its arm cheerfully raised in the air, means child(子) in 金文Chinese. When that character stood under roof-like strokes, and two hand looking shapes appears above the roof holding two calculate chips(算筹), it implies the child is learning math under a roof, ie, studying in school. That word means study, or to study.(学)
So.
