How to get a 10 second 1/4 mile in a STOCK Nissan GTR
Вставка
- Опубліковано 15 лип 2024
- The GTR is known for it's 0-60mph times of under three seconds and 1/4 mile times of low 11's....well, at least for magazine articles. I and multiple others have proven that a stock GTR can finish the 1/4 mile in 10 seconds so this is not a myth. There are ways to help obtain that 10 second time with either purchasing certain years of the R35 GTR or doing certain modifications or tricks to make it consistent. I will show you how in this video.

Another tip: race at sea level
GTR will definitely be my next car after watching so many of your videos!
Awesome video, glad your back fam.
This is great content. Thanks!
Good tips! More GT-R videos please!
Great tips!
First a Like, in case I forget. Now I will watch the vid😎
I don’t have a GTR don’t think I’ll ever get a chance to drive one but I was informed and entertained
i bought that same exhaust. ran 10.7 with similar mods in colorado, just moved to san antonio 1st time at the track 10.501 @ 134 on mps4s
That's fast. Great time.
Turbo cars at Denver’s elevation lose about 5-6% of its power, so that makes sense
@@TheRyansLion yeah you always "hear" about it but experiencing it is different
@@evosruscolorado9788 oh yeah. I live in CO too and I can really tell the difference when going into the mountains from Denver.
Good info. I want a gtr.
Hey Gary,
Thanks.
That E85 comment you did is awesome.
Nice video, just saw it. I own a MY 2015 GTR BEand asked myself what were the major changes from 2014 to 2015?
Quick turnaround Gary, first!
How to run 10’s on a stock gtr. Then goes and explains it has mid pipe/exhaust and e85 mix. Hahah it’s no longer stock. But still running great.
I don't own one but I finally got the job that will get me a 2014
Congrats on the new job!
@@GTContent thanks
I have gotten a 2014 Track edition a couple months ago! Love your videos! When you are at the track are you using launch control or no to achieve 10 secs? Thank you in advance!
Congrats on the purchase!
I use launch control at the dragstrip.
What's up Gary?👋🏼
I have a new 2020 GT-R is it achievable for mine? I heard even though the 2017+ have the most HP of the premium trims (565 hp) they actually tuned it down apparently. Hence why Nissan never released an official 0-60 time for the 2017+.
Give it a shot. You never know until you try.
👍
What do you do in the staging lanes, do you keep the car running or do you keep it shut off.
Shutoff, but keep track of temperatures if it gets too cool because launch control may not activate so you may need to idle and warm it up.
So, essentially running ~E20. Does the R35 require an ethanol sensor to go full E85?
Yes, it does.
hi,
thats not in yr subject but try to get answer, does it gets more power if the GTR run with 93 Octane , there are only a few in the bay area , San Francisco, worth it ? Some say the GTR is tuned for 91, but what about people living in Oregon, they sell 87, 89, 93 in their gas station, does it mean Oregon GTR don't pull 93 ??? or GTR their has their ECU tuned for 93 in the factory before sale ? many thanks !
The GTR is designed to run on premium fuel. 91 octane is ok, but has been known to reduce power with the warmer weather. If you can get 93 or better that will allow it to operate at it's best potential. Try the 91+ E85 mixture I mentioned in the video or pump 93 or better and test your results.
@@GTContent THX for the info, but my 2018 is all stock, will it be ok to use 93 or mix with E85 without hurting the engine / system ? Coz I read some in GTR forum saying the GTR out of factory is tuned for 91 ??? if its true , what about those live in Oregon ? 87, 89,93 Octane ??? I knew I could tell the different between the 91 vs 93 on my Pajero Evolution ( RHD of course ), pssing Oregon to washington to register , noticable power increase ! anyway bottom line as long as won't hurt the GTR engine /system. would like to try again .
A stock q50 does it in 13 so for the money????Idk
The GTR used be my favorite car and the sports car to buy for pleasure for a long time due its great performance at lower cost from the rivals, but now the Plaid model s it is. 1/4 mile in less than 9 seconds for what like 150 gs!! That's just insane. I'm getting that no question about it.
True. Electric is the future.
only for first and second launch.
Or just watch matt happel run 8s 1/4 mile for $8k....
Plaid is a weapon but your not driving to and from the track without a recharge?
The biggest problem and hold back from stock is the drivetrain. The drivetrain can't handle anything over 650 HP. Which you can easily get there from bolt ons.
Actually it’s tq, not hp. And at the wheels not crank. 650wtq is a lot!
What year is your GTR?
I ran a 11 flat on dragy. No traction through 1st into second as well...lol....at Sac raceway prepped I couldn't hit anything other then a 11.3 without spinning...never lowered my launch at the track but 10 sec is doable in my 17...if you want to buy my new K&N filters never used let me know...I'm coming down to Cen cal this week I have no use for them.
Definitely possible from what it sounds like.
Thanks for the offer, but I'll stick to paper filter.
Safe travels.
@@GTContent 👍
Do you still daily a TSX?
Yes
What year is your GTR
2013
@@GTContent thank you I’m looking for a gtr looking for a good value your Chanel is great !
@@frankgonzalez9302 Anytime. Let me know if you have any more questions.
Did you just say a stock GTR R35 can take E-85?🤯
Yes, just a few gallons.
My end goal on my gtr is a high 9 on pump gas.
Soooo Not stock from the showroom.
Tires.
Exhaust.
Fuel.
interesting 🤫
There have been showroom GTR's running 10.9. The simple mods I have just make it more consistent.
No I don't have one lol
I thought r35s weren't street legal?
You must be thinking R34 in the USA. R35 has always been legal.
@@GTContent no it said online that any GTR's made less than 25 years ago aren't street legal.
@@johndavis8724 It's most likely referring to Skyline GTR's (R32, R33, R34) or cars that were not sold here that don't have the emissions or crash compliance for the USA.
@@johndavis8724 the r35 has only been out for 14 years
@@vongdong10 my point exactly it's only 14 not 25.
10.9 is a 11 second car …….. clickbait
