Yeah, he's done a cover of Nighwish's 'Ghost Love Score' without dropping his voice down at all. He's got countertenor range.
I also like their songs 'Born Again' and 'Ghost in the Rain'.
I'd give you several more likes for "Ghost in the rain"...if I could. It's a wonderful song. And as for GLS - Awesome!

Born Again and Ghost in the Rain are amazing, but Beast in Black has rarely a bad song, really like em, but Yannis Range is just amazing, such a great singer
Beast in Black, and THIS song specifically, SHOOK and SHOCKED the universe when they released this modern metal CLASSIC! Three full albums later, and they don't have a single bad song on ANY of them.
I've seen them live twice so far, and it's really impressive when Yannis hits those notes in person. Also just a super fun show to see live, the whole band just has a blast on stage.
Yup seen them 2 times too. They performed in Amsterdam before the main act Nightwish.
Yiannis is just awesome. Now imagine having coffee with him a few times because of common acquaintances and not having a clue of just how good he was beyond "oh yeah, he's into music"

I've watched 'em live 2 times as opening act in Hamburg, Germany. Fun fact about Yannis: after starting to sing as a pro, the wanted to study music. They told him: " you need 3 years of theory, before practising to sing!" "I don't have time for that."
He studied all the theory at home in no time. Until they allowed him to start at the practising level.
Yeah, he sings like this LIVE. Seen them twice and this is always the song to bring top energy to the house. His version of Ghost Love Score is insanely good.

I would definitely recommend "Ocean Deep" from them if you want a really beautiful ballad

I saw them around 1 year ago 2 times in a row! First in Dec.22 as opener before Nightwish and then feb.23 again in Vienna on their own show. They are fantastic, they gave me so much positive energy!!!

Having heard this one live I can tell you he's as good live :) It was a surprise for me since I knew nothing about any supporting act for Nightwish in when I caught them live at The Wiltern in LA in 2022 while there for another band (The Warning). Good surprise :)

Anton Kabanen (who previously formed Battle Beast) likes having great singers singing his catchy songs.
These guys are just amazing, seen them 3 times now and they really do put on a brilliant performance. Yannis can do all those high notes for real. In fact they outdid Nightwish couple years back at Wembley London

Another artist I strongly recommend is Tommy Johansson. He's the lead guitarist of Sabaton, and has at least three other bands he heads himself. His channel is full of amazing covers. A rabbit hole and half. Loved this reaction, BIB is one of my favorite bands ever!!! 🤘😝

First time I heard this I was doing dishes with youtube on autoplay. Thinking 'Oh man, this is good! But wtf is going on?! Is that Simone Simons? Surely it can't be the dude singing everything' Oh how wrong I was. Yannis is a treasure!
There are videos of Yannis singing Sahara live with Nightwish and Floor. Not the best quality since they are obviously phone videos, but the feel! Yannis has been a Nightwish fan since the late 90's same as me and this is a dream come true for him

I second this list! 699 is the number of times I listened to Moonlight Rendezvous in 2022 (Spotify made sure I was aware this). And, it's an awesome video as well.

I always say they're Judas Priest x ABBA. So much europop fun in this band. "From Hell With Love" and "Born Again" are two other amazing tracks.

FYI, there's also a live version of Ghost Love Score where he is featured singing with Floor. The studio version is a little bit more impressive imo but the live version is certainly solid. Of course in studio the outcomes are controlled but in both he matches Floor note for note. Worth checking out.

In my opinion one of the most heavily underrated vocalists ever....
I think Yannis is the only singer I've heard who can match Rob Halford's range. If he's not exactly as high on the top end, he's close enough i can't hear the difference. And he's got a wonderful growl technique at the other end of the scale to contrast the crystal high notes with.
I can suggest you to listen one collaboration between this singer and Ombeline Duprat (Asylum Pyre) in "Sex, Drugs and Scars". Very good in my opinion.
