This band doesn't get nearly the recognition they deserve. So fun, so talented and such great energy live! Glad every time I see a new person finding them.
The lead singer, Yannis, has also done a vocal cover of Nightwish's Ghost Love Score on his personal UA-cam channel. Also a fun fact is alot of Beast in Black's music is based on classic anime, this album in particular is based on Berserk. Also the guitarist made this band when he left his previous band, Battle Beast. If you like Beast in Black, you would also enjoy Battle Beast.
Agree with everything you just mentioned. Battle Beast has some really good songs and Noora is another insanely talented vocalist that I'm sure Rachael would go crazy over.
Yiannis, the singer, is an old acquaintance, from when we both had (long) hair. Had a chance to see BiB perform about a month ago. Very glad to see that he's where he needs to be now. He's earned it.
Random thought/observation...I've seen Beast in Black in concert twice...and the second time, they had one of the best live sounds that I've heard in 40+ years of going to concerts. If the opportunity presents itself to see them live, I highly recommend.
Yannis has countertenor range. As others have already mentioned, he's covered Ghost Love Score in the original vocal range! IIRC, he said in an interview that he used to model his voice on Roy Khan, of Kamelot and Conception fame. If you want more, I'd look at 'Born Again' and 'Ghost in the Rain'.
Yannis has a number of amazing covers on his UA-cam channel, but the must see one is Ghost Love Score... The next Beast in Black I'd suggest reacting to is a ballad called Oceandeep.
I remember seeing them show on my UA-cam recommendations after listening to Unleash The Archers for forever. Power Metal may not be my favorite sub-genre, but Damn is it fun to listen to. You can never find Vocalists with so much talent in any other genre period!
I would say that symphonic metal requires at least equal level of skills to power metal. Nightwish, Epica and Visions of Atlantis are great examples of really skillful vocalists.
After seeing them live 2 times I can really recommend that you watch more of them. If you get the chance to see them live do it, the energy they have on stage is so great.
Rach, you are so talented. Her acapella cover of "Don't Know Why" by Norah Jones is simply beautiful. You should post more videos of yourself performing here. Your voice is so sweet, angelic.
Some reactors who were only listening to it thought it was a woman singing the verses and a man singing the chorus lol. Can see why tho. If you do more BiB, I recommend: Broken Survivors, Blood of a Lion, Cry out for a Hero, Never Surrender, Unlimited Sin, Highway to Mars and True Believer. Also agree with those who suggested Oceandeep and Sweet True Lies for some variety, and I'd add Ghost in the Rain to that.
I always like to watch the reactions of people when they first listen to this song, they are always like " what!!! Is that a man singing? " Anyway just loved your reactions. You should check their other stuffs too. They are an amazing band. Your taste of music looks good and if you're into Power Metal I would suggest you to give a reaction on "Demons are a girl's best friend" by Power Wolf. The same one also have a different version sang by Allisa White Gluz of Arch Enemy. Just give both of them a try.
I hope you listen to their song called Oceandeep. I think it's one of the most beautiful metal ballads. It would be great to hear the singer's reaction to that song. 😊
Finnish metal band with a Greek vocalist, a Hungarian bassist, with the band's name and many of their songs based on a Japanese manga. The best sort of multiculturalism!!!
The Beasts I discovered in 2022 when they were supporting Nightwish. OH GOD how freakin good they are o.O They're meltin my speakers on a full volume since then :D \m/
Yannis is a really underrated vocalist, it's a shame he's not better known. His range is absolutely insane for a male, and he's got a ton of power in his voice. The Sabaton comparison isn't a bad one since they're both broadly classified as Power Metal. If you find yourself enjoying the genre of power metal, there's actually a fair number of modern power metal bands with fantastic vocalists (Battle Beast, Gloryhammer, War Kings, Frozen Crown, etc). Special mention to Frozen Crown for not only having great vocals, but having three great guitarists in the band...two of which are female.
They toured together with Nightwish and at the end of it, the vocalist joined Nightwish on stage on their song Sahara (he did covers of several NW songs on his youtube channel).
Try Beast In Black or Zodd The Immortal from the same album for non-stop headbanging energy. A lot fo their newer stuff is a bit softer, which is fine, but I think it's worth seeing how crazy they can go.
This was in finnish rock radio station 24/7 when it was released. I know it's a good song but I've had enough of of this one. Check their newest one. It's great fun. Power of the beast is the name of the song.
Broke Brain is Best Brain ? Maybe. Maybe? I've recently started to interp this song as if it was from her viewpoint. At least, that interp helps me understand the closing visuals. (and in my youth, I used to write letters in relationships... it was in the era of pre-easy phone access for poor college-students. So yeah, we wrote letters. Fits the early 80's vibe of the rock and vocals. And, after all, the song does fit a softer view of relationships... not so much the macho 'notch-a-cane-and-get-on-with-the-next' attitudes that might be, uh, well, more like Romanticide... The softer side of a Beast in Black. Yeah, that's what I'm going with.
Impressive vocal delivery. My only regret here is the genre (that I like too btw) that do not allow for a performance in subtlety. I feel he'd be mesmerizing in an "Epica context".
Oh well the singer Yannis Papadopoulos has a cover of Sahara and Ghost Love Score by Nightwish. I don't know if he has done any Epica songs but you can hear him sing symphonic metal!
This band doesn't get nearly the recognition they deserve. So fun, so talented and such great energy live! Glad every time I see a new person finding them.
They're one AAA video game featured score from mainstream

Only some songs are based on Berserk
Unsurprisingly this band is from Finland. Also cheers from our humble little nook of the world!
... at least the albums before Anton left and formed Beast in Black.
it's not the best.
I like Born Again more
Yiannis, the singer, is an old acquaintance, from when we both had (long) hair. Had a chance to see BiB perform about a month ago. Very glad to see that he's where he needs to be now. He's earned it.
Great reaction as always. This is another awesome metal-band fron Finland.
Cant wait for more BiB! And also Yannis cover of "Ghost love score" make sure not to miss that one.
I will echo what another commentor said.... you have GOT to check out his cover of Ghost Love Score by Nightwish!
Singing like this is easily the hardest thing to do vocally for a whole set, whole band is so on point it’s crazy! 🫠
Random thought/observation...I've seen Beast in Black in concert twice...and the second time, they had one of the best live sounds that I've heard in 40+ years of going to concerts. If the opportunity presents itself to see them live, I highly recommend.
totally - seen them twice myself, both times, they were faultless
They are also really good live.

Ooof I've been waiting a while for this one! Ocean Deep is also a really good one from them. I got to watch them live in Vancouver, such a great show
Beast In Black was SUCH an epiphany last year!! 🤘❤️
Sweet True Lies and Born Again are my favorites from them, if you wanna check 'em out
Allow me to add "From Hell With Love" and "Blade Runner" as suggestions for a next reaction
You are the best!😃Greetings from Finland where Beast in Black are coming from too!!
Got all beast in black albums.. love from England ❤❤❤❤
After seeing them live 2 times I can really recommend that you watch more of them. If you get the chance to see them live do it, the energy they have on stage is so great.

esta super banda deberia llenar estadios, y no estamos exagerando, derrochan talento por doquier.

my favorite band! They got so many good songs, I'd love to see you react to some more!

Beast In Black...if Judas Priest and ABBA had a kid
Metal music from the North. Seen and reacted to in Ray's way. One of the best in his field. Thanks Ray
OMG, when I first heard the guy singing, I thought, 'Is he a eunuch?'

beast in black moonlight rendezvous is pretty good

If you want more layered vocals try Yannis's cover of Ghost Love Score.
saw them as a support band for nightwish , there awesome and he does a version of ghost love score .......
Please react more of them. There is a lot of wonderful music

They have a lot of great songs but Cry out for a Hero is also well worth checking out.
This was in finnish rock radio station 24/7 when it was released. I know it's a good song but I've had enough of of this one. Check their newest one. It's great fun. Power of the beast is the name of the song.
when I first heard this song I genuinely thought they had two vocalists
you really have to listen to some more Beast in Black
If you think this had complex guitar parts, try Wintersun's "Time II" album. Jari and Teemu did some insanely complex stuff there.

I know you don't bother to answer to comments anyway but Sabaton? I have no idea how you have so many subs without any knowledge of music....insane.
WTF = Welcome to Finland 🤣 Band is from here, but the singer is from Greece. Like Nightwish is from here, but singer is from Sweden :D
And before anyone comes to say anything, i know about Tarja and Noora.. ;D
Annete was from sweden nightwish current lead vocalist Floor is from the Netherlands
The darkharied guitarrist (Kasperi) was in UDO before this band and today .... Beast In Black and Gamma Ray. He's amazing on guitar
you MUST check the Ghost Love Score from Yannis Papadoupoulos, the lead singer of Beast in Black. His covers better than this. MUCH better.
Not his voise. Hers
I saw these guys live, supporting Nightwish in 2019.
They were the worst band I've ever seen live by a very long way
