Can I cook this in advanced? 🤔Get the answers to your questions and more here: www.nyonyacooking.com/recipes/mee-rebus~kENqadbek FREE pdf to print, so you don't touch your gadgets with your oily fingers! 😉

So true, ive been to johor and taste their version of mee rebus and it was delicious as compared to my place cooking style. I think its texture and taste is more richer. Up until now, no mee rebus can beat that mee rebus ive tried in johor.

Foremost, I am truly a fan of yours and I love almost all your cooking dear. Just curious why you did not add in prawns or beef stock. Nowadays I stopped consuming meat, so when I cook I would use only prawns. Mine I do not use the rempah daging, I use blended dried chili and with other stuff like yours including prawn stock which is a must, but I also add pounded fried ground nuts in the gravy and for garnishing I also add in Pak Choy beside the bean sprouts and the final touch beside fried shallots, it would taste heaven if you add dried prawns powder (fried first and then pound it). You should also garnish with cut prawn fried fitters (Cucur Udang), in the mamak stall they have their own fried ones, similar to our Cucur Udang. Then it would be more than perfect. Just a tip from my mom's kitchen. I remember when I cook mine, even my eldest sis and her Australian friend had a second helping!

Try Korean or Japanese fermented soybeans. Although the taste is different, it will give the salty profile in the gravy :) Otherwise, you'd have to skip it.

That is when you'd like to take a look at our about page. www.nyonyacooking.com/about As we've explained in the last 6 years, "Nyonya" refers to me, the person who started Nyonya Cooking, who is a Nyonya. Our site is called Nyonya Cooking while the dish is a Malay dish, called mee rebus as we've stated on the recipe. www.nyonyacooking.com/recipes/mee-rebus~kENqadbek Hope that clarifies and you've enjoyed the recipe. :)
