Epsom salt will damage the plates, coating them in leftover mineral after the lead sulfate reaction. You'll also have more electrolyte, which does increase capacity, but also abnormally sulfates the plates on discharge and will shorten the lifespan (same if you add to much sulfuric acid)
Yeah, epson salt and distilled water, make sure you take the old acid out, and try your best to clean the plates inside your battery, just hose it out.
@@dwayneconaway1733 I sold the bike in the spring after the video. It slow cranked a little so I put a new battery in it. Maybe it just needed more salt. If i knew this video was going to be so popular, i would have kept it around 😂
I bought LTO 18650 batteries and its a whole day work to replace the motorcycle converter? that has more fail safes and support lithium as well. LTO doesnt catch fire and might last 60 years! and -40°c no problem so cold starts never will be a problem i let it at shelf 6 months still fully charged. 150 eu for the batteries and 120 euro for the converter. But dont get regular 18650 lithium ion cells those will catch fire and crack after 7-10 years like those in electrical vehicles... Thats the scam on elecric car batteries you gotta replace them arround 10-12 year or later.
Try use paracetamol, just one tablet for 1 battery mix with new liquid battery, but this not instant strong again, need 2 or 3 day for battery back normal again
Why make a video that lots of people see, when you don’t know WTF you’re doing? You say you are wearing PPE in case you inadvertently built a bomb. Surely the cost of the PPE could’ve gone towards the cost of a new battery.
sometimes I have $50 and sometimes I don’t. I’m going to give this a try.
Awesome. Good luck.
Worked for me, too.
Thanks, man!
You’re welcome

This video is for bringing back a battery that’s already worn out.
Excellent video, thank you for sharing...
You’re welcome
Thanks that was very cool, I have a dead battery in my snowmobile, so I think I will give this a try.
It's fix the battery or it's fake I like to know if working
It worked for a little while. The next spring it was dead again, so I bought another battery. In hindsight, I should have tried again.
@@kennithmorella2693 your’re welcome. I am sad I didn’t keep maintaining and testing the battery. How long could have I kept it alive for?
Will it work if i use regular salt?
I have no idea. If you try it, please report your findings.
@@KnobleMoto i've tried it on a completely dead motorcycle battery using regular salt mix with warm water and it works.😃

I didn't see him take any acid out. And why would you take the acid out?
How much watter
so u mixed it with the acid, you keep the acid in it and you add th salt?
Yes I did. I had not read that there was a problem with that. The battery worked for another season.
@@KnobleMoto What about now, or only one season?

Next time mix it With water👍🏼
Oh. Good idea.
🤣😂
What did the voltage drop down to When you were cranking it over? That's important. You took the camera off the Volt meter.
I don’t remember now. Sorry.
I've seen the Epsom salt diluted in hot water technique...NOT the raw salt method. I'd rethink that ...
Yeah the diluted first method seems to be better.
If I try this I think I will crush the salt to make it finer.

I have never heard of paracetamol. I will look into it. Thanks!
@@KnobleMoto paracetamol: also known as acetaminophen .
@@The_Lord_has_it fascinating.
Don't you mean Asprin acetylsalicylic acid
I used aspirin on my 87cbr600 didn't work I'ma try this
I have never heard of this. How many aspirin was it supposed to take?
Great vid I'm gonna try it!
Glad you enjoyed it. Good luck.
Lol the screwdriver w fast forward 🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Use distilled water
I don’t think that will take the corrosion off the lead plates.
ur supposed to mix salt with water first
I learned that afterwards lol. It would be easier.
@@KnobleMoto is there a ratio of water mixed with Epsom salt? Or should I use distilled water in epson salt mix and what ratio should I use?
@@JohnDoe-cx7vq I think I did a teaspoon per cell. The battery was out of a kz400, so it was not a big capacity battery.
Sounds like a rattlesnake lol
LOL

A battery is what? 50 bucks? and you use it for at least 2-3 years? soooooooooooo....
Some people’s cheapness has no bottom.
