Honestly seeing a ghost/demon horror game like this where there wasnt some awful "You were secretly crazy there is no ghost" or "You were possessed all along" plot twist was nice
You're telling me a random teenager could banish Beelzebub, one of the 5 princes of Hell who is literally more powerful than the demons in the Conjuring Films by a long-shot lol.....I'm sorry that's just hilarious to me.
Hahaha! I loved Baal Zebub shouting: "shut up, Shut Up, SHUT UP!!" at Michael like a petulant teenage girl. 🤣 The end of the game was definitely a nod to organized religion. 😈 😇 😊 Overall, I enjoyed the game and thought it was a very good effort for a solo dev. Plus, any game that gets you flummoxed, CJU, gets a thumbs up from me.
@Pond3r Thiz I said "organized religion" as shorthand for brevity's sake. 😊 And, of course, the casting out of demons isn't restricted to Christianity. I 100% agree that humans can and do deify most anything.
Obviously, the dev takes the religious aspect seriously. For commenters who like splitting hair, and if it's not overtly clear from the game : the first person in his short list of thank you's is God, ffs ^^
Wait wait wait. You need a key to open the car door, when the window is wide open? Unless that window is super clear and the adjoining rear window is just really dirty, I'm pretty sure you could just reach in and unlock it, but you know game logic, lol.
Game logic: like leaving a perfectly useful lantern and relying on a match, or leaving a handy axe/shovel/weapon/tool behind instead of taking it with you? Yeah, game logic increases the stupidity of the protagonist exponentially. Lol!
This game was obviously more intense for the player than the observer. At the expense of being an army of one, i couldn't get into the "scares". The demon on the trail looked like a tanned guy wearing a speedo. Lol However, i did enjoy the look and sound. The adventure/investigative aspect. 👍
I thought the sound effects were great in this game, but it was a bit of a slog as just a viewer (mainly because we were stuck in the same location doing much of the same things over and over again). Still, always a joy to watch you play horror games I could never play myself, and so many thanks for playing this as well!
I really enjoyed the intro very minimalistic but yet so intriguing as it allows the viewers to imagine the scene and I could see it play out just like visually
All I keep thinking about when seeing the cars' headlights on is, "turn off the lights or ur gonna have a dead battery which will make the keys pointless!" Damn! 🤪👍🏻
This is really good. I enjoyed it. Would love to see the dev do another one. I agree with you about the shaking though and that singing was terrifying lol. Great video!😊👍
I do appreciate this being made by 1 person and having the AAA look, quality and feels, although, I must say, if not Chris, this would have been a bit dull to play on your own. Especially towards the middle, the game became repetitive.
the demon protesting against leaving at the end, reminded me of a spoiled child throwing tantrums and making a scene in walmart🤣michael: leave demon! demon: NOOOO MOMMY, WAAHH!
What an improvement from the demo. It looks great they did so good! It superb with the ambience and different sounds. I'm loving it! Thank you Chris! These videos always make my day 😊
It's interesting to see a game that leans so heavily into Christian mythology. I guess most horror games I see Chris play are either Eastern games or have things like generic demons, ghosts, monsters, or zombies. It sort of felt like The Exorcist, in that it uses the Christian lore regarding demons but is not made with squeaky-clean Christian production values (i.e. there's swearing and violence)
Very enjoyable. Almost wish I didn't watch the playthrough. I was very ... compelled to do so. I'm going to wait a few months and buy this game. Hopefully much of the details will be erased from my mind. Cheers, mate.
For such a goofy game, boy does it take itself seriously... At first I thought the opposition between God and the demon(s) was a simple story trope, but obviously the dev really believes in that, and I don't need proselytism in my games. If the dev's next game gets rid of that element (or at least tones it down a notch), I'll be watching, if not I'll pass :) Regarding the game itself, it was decent for a one-man team : not terrible, with a few good jumpscares but amateur voice acting, laughable dialogue, and repetitive environments and mechanics. I like that Anna was animated at the end of the game though! Could have been a bit better by cutting the fat and shorting the length by a good half hour I think.
I think the heavy christian theme can works. Though I feel the demon sounds more like an edgy teenager than ancient demon and the protagonist doesn't feels like a pious person so the religious theme feels shallow and on the nose.
Always a Good moment to learn and hear english with à Good game from ya Thank you. En tous cas merci pour cette vidéo c'est super. Matches : allumettes (fr) Candles : bougie (fr)
i was rolling when u said u need to bring doorstops with u lol and the last was really good surprised they never said their name was azazel and also when the lamp in the kitchen went off and u said did i fucking stutter lol and the matches arent worth shit
Having to gather keys and run around to figure out which door the key unlocks reminds me of Pineview Drive. At least this place doesn't seem as confusing as Pineview. Can I please have whatever phone that is? The battery life is amazing! Certainly a lot longer than my phone battery. Also, the woman who killed herself, in her note she said "if you see them (the demons), don't let them approach" which was the clue for you to run when they appeared in front of you. I agree with you about the scared "shaking" mechanic. It got irritating having it happen so much. However, I disagree with the blackout/demon chase mechanic as it added a level of challenge to the game as well as being a good scare. You don't know when they're going to happen because you aren't supposed to know. What good would predictable jumpscares or threats be? It forces you to be cautious, and even mindful, rather than just run full tilt around in the game. All-in-all, a pretty solid game.
That has to be a record on attempts to just leave the game and go home in the beginning lmao think he tried to leave 4 times before the game really started 😂
This one is cool, but talk about padded - you made it a lot better and much more entertaining than it is. I think I'm spoiled because you play a lot of great indie games Cheers

Great walk through! It's fairly apparent that the developer is a believer. It's nice to see one of these games actually show that there is indeed power in the name of Jesus!
I love how this guy just goes from whimpy college boy to veteran exorcist priest at the drop of a hat
Man learned on the fly
You have power over someone when you know their name demons don't like that
"Yes that's the password, the door is open."
*creepy singing begins*
"Close the door.'
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Yes cause a door stops a demon 🙄🙄🙄
Therapist: clean shaven chris cant hurt you hes not real
Chris the second day in a row:
My friends when I bring door stops to the haunted house: What are you doing?
Me: You'll thank me when the demons try and lock us in.
Someone needs to make a game where you save by using the toilet.
you do in no more heroes
you do in dead rising actually! i remember it in the second game specifically but maybe the whole series
Honestly seeing a ghost/demon horror game like this where there wasnt some awful "You were secretly crazy there is no ghost" or "You were possessed all along" plot twist was nice

Clairvoyant maybe really strong one and thus why not possessed like friends?
@@beverlyarcher3744 Beezelbub is a demon prince, he's more powerful than Valak.....
You can do anything if you just believe in the lord hard enough! lmao.
@@ShadowsFateOfficial What else I think is hilarious is that so many people found Insidous so scary The Movie sucks it’s so laughable dumb

Thank you CJ! I literally just searched yesterday if you had played this game, I didn't want to watch it if you weren't the one playing it. Cheers!
When you were going around those dead ends it reminded me of the game you played in an old bunker where you had to collect the baby dolls.

Watch out for “the Stiff” :-) Somehow, ive gotten some Wooden House vibes when you entered the lot :)
I really enjoyed the intro very minimalistic but yet so intriguing as it allows the viewers to imagine the scene and I could see it play out just like visually
I laughed harder than I should have near the beginning at the "F*ckin Finally!" When he found the right door.
All I keep thinking about when seeing the cars' headlights on is, "turn off the lights or ur gonna have a dead battery which will make the keys pointless!" Damn! 🤪👍🏻
Hahaha yeah yelling at demons is their weakness? “Oh no there is an angry boy yelling at us. Run away!” Lol
lol.
I like how the smartphone battery lasts way longer than most horror game flashlights.
Awesome video as always!
The best part of this game was Chris narrating it. Used my fast forward a lot to get through.
Awww the sadness :'( love the poltergeist whisps abs burning bright rooms. Also got IT vibes with the tower of bones.
It's 3:46 AM here and what a perfect time to get spooked with Chris!!!
What a prefect timing to watch a scary game play, and would agree it just feels right you know.
3:20 now I agree, perfect time
It’s the “Did I fucking Stutter” for me! I love you!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

This is really good. I enjoyed it. Would love to see the dev do another one. I agree with you about the shaking though and that singing was terrifying lol. Great video!😊👍
Anyone else getting pineview drive flashbacks with all the doors and keys?!! 😂. Really enjoyed this!
If it helps, the 'Blair Witch effigies' are called Twanas. Think I looked it up before for Halloween.

This game needs to be renamed as “House of Doors.”
Lawrence, Kansas? Sam and Dean Winchester's hometown, hah. Might also be a nod to Supernatural.
Yass was hoping you'd continue from where the demo left off thanks Cj 😊 👍
Chris, you have me damn near falling out of my chair with laughter.❤❤
Ah, I remember you playing the demo, nice to see how the game ends, sad that he was the only one to survive, but good game and hope for a squal 😯😁👍
The biggest travesty is always the unflushable toilet 😂😂
The animations on that Satan fella were really good. All his demon friends would put on a great show
He is Bezelbub not Satan

Quite good, and surprisingly accurate. The developers did a very good job!
The car and the reference to Lawrence, Kansas. Nice.
Jolly good, time to watch while bedtime! Thanks for good playthrough CJU! 💪💪
woah really good. the house is bigger than it looks on the outside. very Evil dead/Silent Hill/Resident Evil vibes.

You know, if there is a plank nailed facing towards you that means someone tried to keep something in...
“OH SHIT RUN RUN OH AH” dead lmaooo
the shaking hurt my eye
I'm half way through and this is just so fun to watch! I'd die trying to play but cj always makes it a good time!
a strange start at the beginning but get more and more interesting until the end. it's a great game.
chris " what is this blair witch shit lol only missing the dog
There was also the collecting of 7 pages, kinda like the Slenderman game.

Why did he need the car key when the window was down and it was a pull up lock.... Hmmm haha
Ohhhhhh boy, a 2hr video. 👌
Jeff yes I really love the knowledge it's not cliche and not made up
That's exactly how you're supposed to do it
Talk to evil
(The Devil damns your soul to hell and takes over you body)
Protagonist: "No"
CJU: "Just yelling at it seems to work"
One thing that the game definitely has going for it is the voice acting.
I'm a bit late to the party.... but... YOUR BEARD!!!! YOUR BEAUTIFUL BEARD!!!!

Could have been so much better, but all this "find door, go in, get locked in, find key, find door... rinse repeat" got old quite quickly.
Not bad for an Indie Game. Better than many pro games.
"Can I get and Amen up in here."
