i had READ this fucking comment. i promise you my head hit the ceiling when that thing fell. holy mother of god, so this is what a heart attack feels like
Every "indie horror game cliche" I expected did not happen - which is quiet nice to be honest. The jumpscare was really nice placed too. A game well done not overstaying its welcome.
I actually shrieked when the mannequin fell outta the bathroom stall. Giving me heart palpitations I stg. I was really impressed with the voice acting in this too.
It means that Victor is still alive , he stole the dead cops clothes and ran out from the school . So we expect a part 2 coming of this game , that's great 🔥🔥
**puts fingers to temple** "Zach, look at this. Look. At. This. It's.. It's so beautiful! Chris has brought us yet another wonderful game today! Truly, a great day!"
MIxed feelings on this video. I mean on the one hand it's great to have a second video from you CJU. But on the other you're not allowed to have a tea party with the skeletons in the science class, I couldn't work under those conditions!
This surprised me! I didn't know this about Chris. I didn't know if he was talking about himself irl, or the character. But I'd love to hear more about this if true. (Although, I respect his privacy as well.)
Heeey in America we don't just have ammo lying around in our schools....not all of them anyway..lol! I enjoyed this as much as "The Swine" maybe even a bit more.
I wonder why all of the toilets in even a supposedly working institution are all disgusting with no water? All the stock toilets must be creepy ones! I'd have to hold it all day then rush home to pee!
climbing on the vents was ridiculous! i'm curious if you could complete the game without finding the batteries and reporting the situation. the police would not show up so there would be no gun. honestly insane they let this man out of prison...at least 2 people went missing before he went to prison...they even had at least one of the bodies... the court sweeping it under the rug is complete bullshit...
I swear sometimes your ability to orient yourself in a maze of similar halls just frustrates me lol How do people even do that? I would be wondering around for ages, staring at every map and finally finding stuff by accident and then not knowing how to find the exit :D
I like this one better than "The Swine" too. Nice to see the dev(s) making progress. It wasn't super original, but I had a good time watching this vid. And I liked the (almost) happy ending. Thanks for this one Chris!
49:03 lol This was right after I said, "I don't think they would have him run out of rooms and stuff, probably didn't even do an animation for it." I screamed out loud and almost choked on my salad.
Voice acting was weirdly good......Especially the girl. Would love to see what this team could do with a bigger budget. Ending was a little strange though....Just kill him, screen goes black, and he disappears. Maybe they were trying indicate that the security guard was actually victor? I dunno....weird though.
This was pretty great! This developer has potential. They know how to use lighting to disguise some of the weaknesses of the character models. But the horror of finding the school wired to blow was pretty legit and well done.
The school reminded me so much of Midwich Elementary in Silent Hill, and when you mentioned being in a similar school bus I thought you were referencing the same. There's a few things that felt like nods to SH, like that the school nurse's last name was Garland, the name Claudia on a missing persons poster, and the basement being covered in chain link fencing.
Whoa! Two plus hours of CJU fun. Is it Halloween already?! ツ I'll have to wait to watch this, but it gives me something to look forward to in the spooky quiet of the night. 👻💀⚰️ Thanks, Chris!
I'm wondering if there's multiple ending to this game, since the objective states "or", what if u didn't snatch those batteries (meaning u won't be radioing and informing April about the Maniac Victor) and just straight up trying to escape the school?
Good heavens! Two hour (plus)-longs on the same day? Gee thanks, but don't overwork yourself! OK, I'll go watch this wonderful extra right now! EDIT: Yeah, that was fun. Looked really nice, and it was pretty tense. Overall I liked the sound effects, and the music, though that 'DOOM' music sting was a bit much for every little notable. It was pretty funny when you tried to leave immediately and 'DOOM' = NOPE. Started a little slow, but it was nice to explore a location that actually looked almost exactly as it should, with truly varied and logical locations behind repetitive doors that normally would be repetitive doors. There were some strange inconsistencies -- the 'fire hazard' candles everywhere, and a pool table and stove/oven in the _teacher's lounge_ of a *_high school_* ? -- but they were not too disruptive. I don't think the "red herrings" were indeed red herrings; I didn't see him either, but I'm sure that the game just gave you a last minute warming that he _would_ see you if you continued. It was pretty dark, he dressed in black, and I feel like that was a compromise solution to give the player an extra fair chance (as opposed to having them unfairly slaughtered by an enemy that they had no warning was in the area). Did like the stealth sections, especially when you had to open the combo lockbox while avoiding being seen and sickled. My heart was in my throat for you. The bomb defusal puzzle... was kinda good, but didn't really make sense as a thing to do (why would you not just pass the info to the bomb squad?), and of course the timer glitch did it no favors. Didn't help that, although you could hear the timer, you had no idea of its length, so the glitch of completing the puzzle exactly as the timer ran out was hard to avoid. But yeah, it was fun, and an improvement on The Swine (which was itself fun) -- nice to see the little homage to that game (and in the toilet, too, which I must wonder if that was a special present for you, CJU. Who else can you always trust to look in the loo 😂 ?) Also glad that April was on the up-and-up (I thought she was pretty sus as well for a while); it would have been _very_ dark if she was some twisted plant and that might have been an unpleasant turn. But we may see such in the sequel.... since Victor most likely got away and will be back for his revenge another day... you little punk🤬. Thanks, CJU!
Looking away from the screen as Chris reads out the note - "Hey Alyson" My name is Alison and let me tell you, I am already so tense from this game that I jumped a mile at that.
Hey @CjuGames. I just found your channel. You are probably not gonna see this comment but love your comment and how you speak and talk to us. Im binge watching your stuff, looking foward for your evolution on the platform!
other folks are already pointing this out, but since the last objective said "or" i bet if you truly suspected that april was working with victor and didnt try to notify her, that there'd be no police to come and let you get a gun, thus no way to fight him at the end.
Lmao all of the animation classes are in the basement of my college and it was also called the dungeon. Not trying to be cool and nerdy though - but because that's how it feels when you've been working on a 15 second sequence for 5 hours in the middle of winter with the threat of the power cutting out at some point just because why not?
its a nice game I just wished that the loading times black out parts were not existent, it ruins the pace of the game, the extra part on the ending is quite nice glad I stayed till the end, I hope if there's going to be a sequel it the loading would be different
They definitely need to work on the lighting effects. I think it was supposed to be some kind of cue that your journal was updated or something, but.. it washes out the detail and makes it difficult to see what's going on. Otherwise it looks pretty solid.
43:47 I’d ask for both overtime AND hazard pay.😅 Hazard Pay: Work duty that causes extreme physical discomfort and distress which is not adequately alleviated by protective devices is deemed to impose a physical hardship.
I thought she was going to be involved as well! I really thought that painting of what looked like death sitting next to a girl was foreshadowing her involvement. Fun play through!
I can't believe that I've never tackled this gameplay before, and I've loved it. In fact, I've actually enjoyed this more than The Witching Hour. It's got a good atmosphere and jumpscares. And hey, even the voice acting was nothing to snort at. Also.... our main character isn't stupid. XD (Though for someone who works as a security guard, you'd think the game would've already provided him a flashlight from the very start, but ahh wells.)
I love it when there are voice actors. I enjoyed FireWatch very much and this is closer as it gets to it even though the emotional affect of FireWatch on me was whole another level. Edit Note: There was another horror game taking place in an (abandoned) school too. But it doesn't have any voice acting and inner game conversations.
CJUGames: Yeah... I'm not seeing like any ammo storage on the map. Me: Depends, if this is an american school they'll probably keep it next to their art and sports storage. Considering that all three of them is basically in the same category of education
If they made April betray the MC, then they'd have to go through all the hassle of writing her motivation and back story without screwing it up. Why not just go occam's razor and make it simple and understandable, instead of beyond contrived? Ending was good and made sense, in a way. lol
32:15 This is interesting: The actual note in the background has a completely different text than the text in the foreground. Either they reused an asset or forgot to change it when they decided to change the text or something.
Amazing visuals and puzzles and overall game. Ending kinda sucked and wanted a bit more- and I felt the same with Alice( I think that was her name) was involved too setting you up. I also love his artwork- the jump scares got me!
Hello and God 🙏 bless CJU. Wow, April is telling you to do everything, look for a key while she's hiding in some office eating a donut 🍩 and drinking ice coffee. She needs to help out and look around to find some items too.
I thought it was a fun little game. I expected April to be working with the bad guy too. Could have had a lot more to it, but it was good. Cool art work. As always enjoyed the journey. Oh and I love it how Chris always tries to leave as soon as he enters a game. That's always funny 😆 and checking the toilets of course! These are must haves! 💖
I really enjoyed watching this playthrough and might check this game out myself. I do wish the black screens had better explanation (ie. Some kind of loading or some similar notice).
There's only so much I can suspend disbelief when these indie horror games get sloppy. Light switches on the OUTSIDE of the bathrooms? How come you don't use face cam for the whole game, just personal preference? I just like watching people as they play. This was pretty good, fun to watch anyway! The dispatcher April definitely reminds me of Delilah from firewatch. I like that, it also adds another fun element to the game plus there's the fact that you never really know if you can trust them. The bad guy ... He had an amazing voice 😂. I'm a bit of a newbie to your channel but I like it, subscribed too. It's always good to find a gaming channel with a human and not a screaming guy.

At 49:12 my heart jumped out of my chest, that doesn't happen often. I love it!
This school has 32 bottles of cleaning solution but can't clean their bathrooms? Those toilets deserve better.

Oh? Mannequins are generally on my Bingo card personally.
how does a security guard not have a flashlight?
One of those big maglites at that
No one :
Chris: * opens door to bathroom
*Gasp "finally"
Me: *Dieing from laughter
13:36 That's the sound of a chair or desk being scooted across the floor. You know... by someone other than yourself.

This surprised me! I didn't know this about Chris. I didn't know if he was talking about himself irl, or the character. But I'd love to hear more about this if true. (Although, I respect his privacy as well.)
We used to traverse through the bowels of a big old hotel . . through silent Hill style old dead night clubs . . working security aka the doors

I really liked the radio voice acting - and it was so much more immersive than constantly stopping for notes. Thanks for another great time watching.
That mannequin in the toilet shit me up so much😂😂
I love how jazzed you get over finding in-game toilets haha
Was eating a whole boiled egg when he said "Let's see if we can make it to 1995".

I like the subtle Silent Hill references. "Nurse Garland" and "Claudia Blanc" (referring to Claudia White, and the photo even looks a lot like her).
Best gaming youtuber ever!!! Thanks for making quarantine more bearable
That was the most realistic gunshot sound I've ever heard in games, tough it should be louder lol
