If you bought that as the kit with the amp and wiring kit you need to replace the wiring. The included stuff is CCA which has a lot of loss, gets hot and causes your amps to run hot. If you replace it with OFC wiring your amp will run cooler and output more power. I only use OFC wiring in my builds for this reason. I just ordered this same loaded enclosure for my Yukon since I killed one of my 12” P3’s and they needed a bigger box anyway. Those P3’s hit hard (people would think that I had a couple 18’s) and the cheap box I threw them in only has the amount of airspace that is recommended for one P3. That’s because I upgraded my electrical and have a 370a alternator that keeps my voltage at 14.4 steady. So hopefully these live up to the hype. I was going to go with Sun Down SA 12 v.3 but a good box for those would have cost as much as this loaded enclosure.

hows the system going? ive been looking into these for quite some time for my DTS 2011, not sure to go for 15s or 12s ......blessings
Nice subs! Are you running factory alternator and battery?
Does the amp get hot?
Yes sir I am. And no sir it doesn't
Your subs are not tuned right at all. That’s why they were clipping. Wasn’t from them not being broken in. If you can hear music of the song coming from the subwoofer and not only low end that means they are not tuned right
No they weren't tuned I just got them. And two, there are speakers in the trunk in the rear . Lol not in the doors. AND the doors were opened
The rear deck also have speakers....
That bass sounded deep and clean. Nice review brother!
Thanks for watching
Cool video. Your phone does pick up the bass.
My HSU 12’s are pounding while I watch this
Crank it up man haha
Maaan I coulda used that single EVL. My sub blew a few days ago. Want a EVL but not got the cash to import one here to the UK. They do look and sound amazing though. 😍
Nice vid btw 👌🏽
I appreciate it man
The new system is nice it has plenty of bass and i like your aftermarket stereo you put in that accord i also want the sub
I appreciate it
Nice set up I got a couple videos in my cars with skar audio equipment nice video
I appreciate it
They actually can hold 3K a piece 😁 I had two of the EVL 15’s in my dodge neon and god it was loud
TheSimulator Smith no the skar zvx is 3000 a piece
Jalen Early yes I know but the EVL can hold 3K all day i had 2 15’s on 3K a piece
TheSimulator Smith I have a dodge neon too. 6 x6.5v2s on Crescendo BC2000D.
Nendo Crescendo i bet that gets nasty man got any video of that getting down
TheSimulator Smith I’ll try to upload something tonight. There’s a long story behind it too. It’s only like 47 seconds long and I’ll include a picture of it but being it’s winter I have everything out. It gets brutal here.
I have 2 Skar DDX 12s on a 2400 watt amp that makes my windshield wipers dance in an Ford Expedition..
Bro play E40- Go off his curb commentator mixtape. I would like to see how the subs react to it
I have the Evl 12 D2 and sounds awesome thanks for your videos for helping me make the right Choice. My F150 is loaded up with skar audio subwoofers and mids and super tweeters Thanks Brother
Thanks for watching!
Did you need a capacitor or an extra battery for the battery dimming
I had this amp (rp2000)went back to my power bd1000..super hungry and lows weren’t so low my bd digs deep on lows
Agreed I have the skar LP1000.1d and went back to my trusty punch 1000.1bd. Man I don't realize how good my Rockford's sound until I try something else.
Yeah, watts aren't everything.
2 Guns Had the exact same problem with my rp1500s and 2000
I'm buying the single boxed version next month.
That will pair nice with the 1000.1 D.
Goodbye Terminator MTX!
Enjoy!
@@Kpaceguy I plan on it! 😉👍
Shoulda went with Sundown’s Cost more but the QUALITY IS EVERYTHING!!
Savage Enough I have the HDX3 15 on 8K currently and it’s a beast
Savage Enough sundown owns skar so they are the same quality just sundowns are more of competition ones. LMAO
Drone Videos In Florida basically lol
Drone Videos In Florida Sundown doesnt own skar, they do share some of the same parts but sundown is higher quality than skar
Drone Videos In Florida the skar owner was with sundown at one time then did his own thing and I’m glad he did.
Can’t wait to hook mine up in my 2013 Surburban man
Skar audio was my first system then ... now better quality I have JL audio ...
What JL did you have?
Hennessy * 10w7 is what I got in a c3 corvette hits hard enough to make your ears ring
@@AllaboutTheWoodrows have you had skar subs?
@@AllaboutTheWoodrows nice w7 won't disappoint .... my current setup . I prefer Sound quality . All JL audio . Amp HD900/5 . Sub HO112RG w6 . speakers c5 front and rear ...
I gotta honda. I was looking into Skarr and I been looking into the same indash !!! Awsome set up my dude
Just bought my evl 10 in package can’t wait to see how edm sounds in my Buick
Everyone hates on me for using skar, but my 2 “12 sdr-d4 subs with a cheap cheap autoteck 2,000 watt amp and a stinger capacitor. My uncle Angel was very impressed, and he has 1 “10 on 2 rockford Fosgate Amps in his 350z and boy that thing pounds.
I had some L7s and I loved them. I’m looking to get some skars vxf 12s heard they hit pretty hard
Luis Mendez they are insane bass. And clean lows. Do it and you won’t regret it
I have a set of evl and vxf 12 not really to much of a difference tbh
Save your money and get the evl
Love the vid! I'm really leaning towards one of these. Is there a way to control the volume of the subwoofers separate from the overall volume? Worried that it might be too much bass if I can't control the output individually
Yes
In terms of sound quality, how does the Skars compare to home theater subs you listened to?
Great question! The sound quality is actually what I would consider their strong point. I have my amp set to crossover around 60hz or so and they blend very very well. 60hz is right around the kick drum frequency and to my surprise the skar subs kept up very well! Bass is low with serious authority and haven't heard Any motor/mechanical noises at any volume. Still breaking it in of course but I'm absolutely pleased
Kpaceguy what hertz would you set it for EDM songs?
You did a great job with presentation and even tho you had bad wind and a mower, everything turned out great! Great content!
I appreciate it. Thanks for watching
I have 1 evl 12 at 1750 rms and have been jamming everyday to and from work it is a 30 minute drive one way + everyday intown listening. there is no way 2k amps is enought for two 12. A 3500 what amp would be nice for those
What supporting mods do you have? Big 3? 300amp alternator?
I blew my shitty 10" kicker and fried the low pass on the half of the amp it was using...so i did what any rational person would do. Spent 1000 bucks getting a pair of skar 12s , 2000 watt amp, 1000 watt 4 channel for my kickers in my doors, new pioneer head unit.... BOOOM
Absolutely lol
Man l7s hit WAY harder you just gotta hook them up right
I think so too. That’s why I run Kicker subs and using skar RP1200.1 right now. It’s just at this very second I’m going back to my kicker cxa1200.1 lol
Blah Blah Blah... Crank it!!!!!!!!!!
Man! This had my headphones shaking lol
I know it’s 4 years ago but come on the song!
I was just looking at this same set up on eBay for 219
For 219 you're not touching it
Lol the box with subwoofers alone was almost $600.00
I have the same setup. Thinking about getting the 3500 watt amp to supply more power. Can't complain about my 2000 though
Hey boss get with someone to properly set your amp so you aren’t clipping your subs.
Actually Seems like hes playing it low which is a change compared to most UA-cam videos. that being said find somebody with an oscilloscope to set your gain correctly
Don't you clip the amp not the subs
The word clipping is setting the gain wrong or multiple reasons including turning the bass boost up, this causes "dirty" energy or a bad signal whatever vocab you want to use witch can cause ur subs to blow sound like shit or set them to low and then not getting full power out of the amp
Good people like you should do what your doing ..god bless you and your family🤙🤝
I appreciate it my friend
i may be interested in the 1 evl i have 2 skar audio ix 10s in my 350z on a audio pipe 1k i have them gained down to 700 ish wats any way i need some bass for my winter beater shipping may not be worth it tho also i just put up a vid of the ixs slapping for 44.99 a peace you cant get anything better
I sold the Undamaged one already. I'm in the process of fixing the basket of the other one And looking to sell it
You are under powering them too. 👍🤙
I went with what skar recommends. I'm sure they can handle more but my car cant
@@Kpaceguy 😂I believe it, yeah 2 Skar subs ain't no joke. I have an RP1000.1 powering a single 10" EVL in a 4th order bandpass I built and nobody believes me it's only 1 10" when I pull up places. Good stuff.
Skar audio are a beast
Michael Baldwin the tweeters sounds louder then these skar subs so these skar subs isn't very beast to me
@@patrick7799 they are supposed to overpower your subs you dont want a system that all you can hear is bass
@@razorzedge9746 ever since 2002 my subwoofer has been less louder then everything until now but I never knew my subwoofer was less louder even though Kpaceguys sub has 2000 watts his sub is still less louder then everything
@@patrick7799 your tweeters are supposed to be louder in a good system. I'm mecp certified I know all about this stuff. Tweeters and high and bass is low. If you want loud bass you need even louder tweeters and mids so you can actually hear everything else and not just bass
@@razorzedge9746 I like it when all of my speakers has the same loudness
Just put the Skar dual enclosure sdr-2x12d4 in my car being pushed by the Skar Audio rp1500 1d amp and it's VERY NICE but I already wanna upgrade to some EVL's.
I see alot of these comments love the skar evl subs but let's be honest here the American Bass XFL series kills off the skar evl series
I wouldn't say all of that bruh, them evl's hit really hard. Parker but those American bass against the evl's & it was pretty much even steven. Same day, same amp. Their pretty even.
@@1tuffzx10 your right I have to retract my comment...I was thinking of the ddx for some reason from skar ... the evl is very brutal and is one of the subs I would rock with from skar along with the vxf
@@bennyblanco14 it's all good bruh. Both of those subs hit hard & you cant go wrong wit either one👌🏿👌🏿
@MrColeman83 beefier dont make it better, 💁🏾♂️just sayin. Strong is strong, loud is loud. When it comes 2 either 1 of these subs it's more personal choice.
Best skar subs I ever owned other then my ddx 15s which are by far the best skar sub series they make because they are very musical and they are very good with low frequencies my evl 15 had it on a audiopipe apmi2k it took ever bit of that power for audiopipe the apmi actually does rated at 1ohm 1950 and my evl 1t loved it specially when It came to lows
Maybe I messed up my first box build, but my 4 year old power acoustik 124x mofo sounds a couple dollars short. Not 79.99. Idk
Try the vxf series you would love them I have 1 12 on rp2k and it slams hard
@@PotatoeChipz my last setup was a PA mofo x 12 and I was very impressed I actually love PA I still have it for backup still stiff like brand new
Kpaceguy you tweeters seems to be louder then subs
That's because my phone picks up highs better than Lowe's
@@Kpaceguy well I thought my microphone picks up the the highs better then the lowe's as well but I have learn that is not true and my microphone can picks up the lowe's very well so this means your tweeters is louder then your subwoofers
@@patrick7799 Lol
@@patrick7799 phone mic's generally dont record bass under 60 hz. Thats why the tweeters are more clear. Its also very easy to have a tweeter that can do 140db plus. A tweeter doesnt need a lot of power to do that amount of db, while a subwoofer needs thousands of watts! Most PA audio compression drivers need only 50 watts for 150 db.
@@patrick7799 yeah that's how it works. Not.
Nice sounds system 👍 sounds good
I appreciate it
Yea get a crescendo 4K you think it’s loud now ! lol
JereUpThere TM I have the same set up on a 4500 it’s loud
Dude this is the video i been looking for. I had 2 12" L7S like what i think you're saying you had... Those were incredible imo, i know if you had those you have high standards... The EVL are really that much better huh? My MTX TR55 400W RMS that i upgraded to L7 from did have better SQ than the L7 but obviously the L7 blew them away in SPL and loudness. Im trying to figure out what to get and L7 are like my litmus test or my starting point.
These aren't better than the newest l7s
I have two Evl 15’s on a taramps md5000 and they survive so definitely can put 2k apiece with those twelves
not a chance these 1250w twelves are taking 2k for more than a week combine above 50% volume tuned in.
I stand corrected after owning 1 12 for a month.
You can take your poop and smear it against your face, John.
@@PotatoeChipz buddy I had them for years. Application matters
Kpaceguy love your system and before Thanksgiving I'll be purchasing some 12 inch Evls .. but you think same set up will fit in 2007 Toyota Camry?
It'll be pretty tight. Once it's in the trunk it'll be fine but it's getting it through the opening that will give you trouble.
@@Kpaceguy Thanks
Check the Skar subwoofer enclosure box specs then measure the trunk (length, width, height). Compare those two measurements and go on from there.
Ah, everything must go left to right! Our fasteners, words, and volume knobs. I get it
but, making the words go left to right.... the volume would still go down when turned left, and go up when turned right.... it could be both ways.I bet he did it upside down on accident and claimed it was on purpose. It would be dumb to have it upside down for that reason. That reason is invalid all the way.
Nice. Are you using the stock alternator for your system?
Yes stock alt 2 battery's and 0 guage everything
Dawg hush mat your trunk. Sounds like a tin can
Check the next video haha
Wut did you expect it to sound like?
Looks like an accord sport,,,,,had a hard time getting my enclosure in the trunk,,,and my enclosure is smaller,,,,honda 2013 sport,,,,,,gotta give it a shot,,,you got yours in!!!!!!
Maybe start using a blinker while changing lanes instead of investing into 2 12s into an accord without upgrading the alternator. 1 will slam you in a net 2.9 box or 2.6 net manufacturer, or if you're a newbie, the prefab!
Skar is awesome
You came from Kicker L7 Solo Barics? I was about to purchase one 12" but now I'm considering one Skar 12" or 15". What do you honestly think?
I had the model before the Q class. I haven't heard the Q class but I've heard it was very good
@@Kpaceguy I'm not referring to Q Class, I'm referring to the basic Kicker Solo Baric L7s. If you are convinced these Skars produce more bass than L7s then that may change my plans.. is why I'm asking you this important question. Thanks in advance. Nice set-up.
@@lowhertzhighspl yes these skars destroy the l7s i immediately heard the upgrade
Shit I went from 2 12" kicker solo baric L7s and switched to the EVL skar 12s and I have to Crack my windows when I crank it up super loud .. I have already shattered one window L7S DONT EVEN COMPARE TO THE EVL 12S
Why do they go straight for the rearview mirror 😂 geewizz 😂
Because it's the one thing you can't dynomat so it shows the most vibration
Yes they seem under powered or your gain is not set right. They should be bouncing off that amp.
Where is the video with the skv2 2500.1 amp you saidd you were going to do? also can you explain your electrical pls ty great video
ua-cam.com/video/rj7Ixzvv8ek/v-deo.html
I'm making a box right now to put these in my 55 VW bug
I have 1 alpine SWS10D2 (2Ω, 500rms)
When buying I was told -and now know for myself- that you can't beat Alpine on Clarity and Consistency. I can run my subs full blast all day and that amp won't be burning up and sound quality will sound the same 1, 2, 3 hours from now, which is why they're so damn expensive. That being said, I'm looking for something a little more bassy that can handle for long periods of time.
I heard Skar is the best Budget Bass Monster, but have yet to hear how they hold up. My boi has kicker L7s, but can't run them for long without compromising sound quality. For the price of 1 Alpine, I can get 2 Skars , but am unsure about their Longevity. The only person I know who had one said that they don't maintain long and switched to Alpine.
Is that true?
What do you think?
I have 2 dual 4ohm skar vxfs on a 3k that I blast for hrs and not a single sign of heat or smell
Niiiiiice. I have Skar EVL 15 and their rp2k amp. In a built to spec 5 cubic ft box. I just got a optima yellow top AGM battery so I can run it
@kpaceguy Bro did you really go back and love a 2 year old comment haha what's up
Do you have the big 3 done or alternator and extra battery???
My wiring is good. Stock alternator. I have a battery now that I haven't put in yet
Kpaceguy you should put the battery in ASAP and do the big 3 upgrade. It will save your under hood battery and your alternator from a beating.
@@tidobass6048 Definitely will!
This is the exact question that I was going to ask. Kpaceguy, if you had put your amp board behind the enclosure, and put that enclosure where the amp is now, the difference in output would blow your mind. And please do the big 3 upgrade and battery add on. Good looking set-up dude, glad that skar came through on that damaged sub.
