Great video, im new to flying @51 y,o live in Wyoming and found Bush to be more practical for myself. still working on my PPL , just past solo not sure if i would be up to tackle building my own however i hope to see the procces keep um coming
Probably a dumb question but I noticed the plane said light sport, but you were definitely doing speeds over 120 knots and I’m assuming Randy is a private pilot or better and it’s OK for him to go that fast but I thought the plane itself had to be restricted? Like I said, probably a dumb question.
I see that you posted the manufacturer's recommendation about prop/engine RPM when that question came up. Hmmm. So you read the manual before you went to Kansas. You are not a typical fighter pilot in my experience. Your vid quality is really primo.
I go over all that in one of our videos if you want to look. It’s about $20k with them cutting panel. Another $5k if you want everything prewired for plug and play operation. Again, there are a lot of little things that can make it go up or down.
I listed for the jumpseat but scored a seat in back on all 5 of my flights to and from Hays. And it’s not like loads were light. I got super lucky. Hardest part was finding a cab to catch the one flight out of Hays. Yeah the demo was rad. Can’t wait to tear open my kit when I finish my tailwheel endorsement in Kitfoxes next week
I'm 6'4" and was curious how well you fit and liked it? I was able to sit in an S-20 with bubble doors and it felt pretty good but we did not going flying. I believe these have the same size cabin.
Yep, same cabin and I’m 6’4”. No real issues, just ducking under the wing. Hey iPhone, I finally used the word “ducking”. Your autocorrect for 10 years has not been in vane.
@@CLEAREDDIRECT hahaha honestly surprised it didn't autocorrect the other way this time! Thanks for the info, also glad you're back at it. Being I'm years out from hopefully doing this build I'm trying not to get too excited too early so the break from watching your build was nice but I'm addicted again! Just have to be content with my 170 for a while 🤣
Well I’ll try to keep the vids coming, but trust me, I know the feeling. I just learned that my kit will be delivered while I’m away at tailwheel/backcountry training! Ugh
Ok. I'm not a pilot (yet) so don't treat me bad for asking dumb questions; but, could you dump a skydiver out of one of these? Flying with the doors off of course.
RANS SUX never ever buy a rans lemon aircraft.. ask Randy about drawing/plan mistakes never being corrected even after 10 years. ask Randy About suppling metric fittings with american radiator hose for the cooling system!!!!
I like that the S-21 is all metal just seems more durable then fabric would be.
Same!
Durable, yes. Repairable? Not so much.
Great vid . Always nice to see the Outbound in action esp with Randy on the stick .
Agreed! He’s so easy going and a natural pilot. It was an honor!

You may want to consider Vinyl wrapping. I did my RV-12 for $1500. Still looks new after six years.
Absolutely considering it. Can you recommend a good shop?
I wrapped it myself. Check out video - RV 12 build N915DG . The wrap part is near the end.
I was VERY excited to watch this video. Nice work!
Thanks Super! Next vid dropping today.
@@CLEAREDDIRECT Awesome! Looking forward to it!
Nothing but administration for those whose love of aviation improves the aircraft and utility along with safety. Yet the fun factor remains high.

What a GREAT AIRCRAFT IT IS!!! /Will BE!!!
Yes sir!!! I have lots to learn between now and then!
Awesome video Freq!!
Hopefully you stopped by maintenance enough to learn a few things... ;) besides getting awards made haha!
Oh come on... 🤣 I always went to maintenance. To investigate mishaps! 😏
Way cool! I can’t wait to see the videos of your build and more excited to see the adventures you share!
Thanks, Daniel! Trust me, me too. I haven’t figured out the build video format yet. Probably not as highly edited as all my other videos:)
Crazy music love it
Yeah this one was kinda weird, musically. Thanks for the note!
Flew right over my old house on final into Rans.
Beautiful country! I probably walked right by your house the morning of the workshop.

🤣 Thanks!
Super cool man!
Thanks Josh! When does your next video drop?
Got a few in the works👍 Watch for both an engine update as well as another Dynon update this week!
Notification bell struck! Awesome stuff
How much does it cost to set up the avionics and flight instruments like in the video?
I’d guess $15K

Hey Dad & Chad! Love your vids. Let’s meet up at Airventure 2022.
@@CLEAREDDIRECT thanks! see you there!!! 💪💪💪
I would not be interested in stol competition so this plane would be much better than the kitfox the folding wings is the only cool thing.
Jumpseat on a SkyWest 200? I got to do a demo in the same bird with Randy, it was way fun.

@@CLEAREDDIRECT Wow that’s awesome! I’ll bet! Are you going with the Titan?
@@andrewmorris3479 Yessir! 2 months in on a 7 month backlog. I’ll be sitting in the cockpit making engine noises waiting for it in about 3 months.
Great video thanks for sharing, what do you think now you have had a fly? I was convinced I made the right choice :)
Hey Mark! No doubt. I’m so excited. 3 weeks!

8:14 for the roll
What’s was the speed and RPM for the high power setting?
I want one!
Awesome video. Doesn’t help with me foaming at the bit any less. 8 months and counting ugh.

don't worry about the paint. Wrap it up.

Totally! Yep
You “could” except the regs and operating limitations prohibit it.
You should check out GravityKnightFlying. He flies a highly modified RANS and never lands on airports.
Done and done. That dude is 💯% rad
Hair on fire!!!
Always! Congrats again on your kit, Randy!
I guess you had to edit out the inverted part.
Nah it’s there
@@CLEAREDDIRECT Sorry, I see it there. must have got distracted when it happened. Nice roll!
@@chupacabra1765 haha yeah, sorry for the clickbaity thumbnail. If you blink, you miss the “inverted” part
@@CLEAREDDIRECT You should take Randy for a ride in the 15 and show him how it's done.
He should.. but I guess he’s not afraid of putting it out there violating FARs for all the world to see…

No comment... for now. :)
shame there backup service is ...shit
I have no idea what this means
It’s not a motor - it’s called an engine ! Always an engine in aviation
I couldn't disagree more! I'm curious what your background is that would bring you to this conclusion...
