It’s a dream to find an LX 5.0 in good condition that hasn’t been converted to a drag car
I had an 88' LX 5.0 with a manual 5 speed, great when I was younger. Now I have a 92' LX 5.0 with an automatic. I live in a city with major traffic now when I'm bumper to bumper I like the automatic. I'm going to turn this car in the spring. I might go for a 5 speed. Either way I don't understand the hate. Both are fun cars.
For all you haters out there cause this is a automatic heck I don't care this is a clean unmolested 1991 5.0 Mustang LX that is fun to drive and look good either way. Iam the proud owner of this classic ride.

Al Bundy I honestly don’t understand why everyone likes standard so much, I’m learning to drive right now and it’s so hard for me to use standard, my dads truck is a standard but our lx is automatic and I feel so much better driving the automatic

Swap it with a C4
Ur Mom it’s the fun factor of driving a manual. Once you learn to drive the stick you’ll never look at a auto the same way. I agree a auto in a normal car or truck makes perfect sense but in a mustang it just so much fun to bang gears.

Is it me or is every automatic mustang that you see in these older models that are in great condition!! But finding a manual transmission in one of these they look beat up and if you do happen to find one in great condition the price is way up for a manual transmission.....just saying has anyone else noticed that when finding a foxbody mustang??

I've got a 90 lx with a 347 stroker and I run a T56 transmission. I've kinda been looking for a stock lx automatic that's a nice cruiser and this looks pretty straight and clean

I use to own two foxbodies '86 and '87,both 5 speeds. Loved to drive them.

I bought a new body style Mustang GT in 87. Dealers were asking up to $3k over sticker price. The one I found for a decent price was a loaded auto trans. Awful slush box tranni. I had a tranni seal leak and rear end seal leak at about 75k miles.
I later bought a 90 5.0 with a 5spd. Much funner car to drive. We thought they were fast back then with a few mods. A new Kia would blow it off the road today
I don’t believe that my ‘91 LX had a tilt-wheel either. It didn’t really matter, as I’m a smaller guy (5’8”) so it wasn’t a necessity for me. It would be a necessary component now with my “man-gut”. I would LOVE to have another one! :€)
No air bag fox body had tilt.
I would buy this car and have it converted into a 5 speed. Instant price appreciation.
Had a 1990 Police mustang with automatic liked it a lot but it drank gas like crazy.

10-15 years from now, these unmolested 5.0s will be worth some really good coin. Even mild custom builds will be worth more than they are worth now.

It's not unmolested. Paint on driver's door and quarter panel don't match.
Maybe they will need to be converted to electric, oh I hate to think about that.

How do you know a little maintenance will get the A/c working? Maybe it needs a compressor ,dryer and condenser, or something like that. The paint looks great.
Cause it was just working last year.
@@MapleMotorsNickSouthgate maybe needs a refrigerate charge but you don't know exactly or recharge it so you don't show a nice car with inop A/C. I sure like the car.

5spd are definitely fun to drive but I'll tell you what, I've been daily driving my '87 GT for the last three months and it has a C4 with a 3000 stall and 3.90's and it has been just as fun to drive then a 5spd believe it or not
@@thefoxdoctor1072 my uncle has a 87 gt, and my dad had a 90 gt auto drop top. Both were fun to drive. But I love that chirp kick you get when you bang gears on that 5 speed.
@@thefoxdoctor1072 That reminds me of a '70 Chevelle SS454 I once had!..I set it up with a 3,000 stall, 4.10 gears and a beefed up TH350 with a shift kit..Talk about "shit and get", man!!

My favorite 5.0 color everything esp being an LX! And auto is better in many ways my buddys and I blew T5's all the time we then swapped to auto's we had better luck

Really good job on the video. Like the way you say SPEEDometer - pretty sure that the rest of the world outside of your vicinity pronounces it "speddomitter". You're way sounds more fun. One thing though: I would have liked to see you get going fast and then hit the brakes to see if the car stays straight. That's a real important test for a bunch of reasons. My guitarist friend drove a Mercury Capri back then, looked similar but who knows the actual difference? We always gave him crap but it sure looks fun today.

At that price it's WELL worth buying and grabbing a manual conversion kit. If it were standard, as clean and unmolested as this car looks, easily a 15k foxbody
@Mike Bell not sure where you've been the past few years but 5.0 fbody's are now over 25 years old which classifies them as "classic" cars. Slightly rusted with way more miles versions with trashed interiors are going for the price of this car and sometimes more. They're hard to find nowadays, due to the fact that so many have been wrecked and sent to the crusher. F-body 87-93 mustangs are skyrocketing in price, join mustang group online and post the ad for this car. It will for sure blow minds at that price
@Mike Bell yea I never liked that color either, but my uncle bought a 93 "coupe"in that shade (which is Calypso green btw) in August last year and I'm digging them more now as long as it's one with black interior. It's a 5spd with the usual bolt on but only has 16k original miles with an 11k paint job. Paid $22k for the car which imo was a steal! It's perfect in every corner/seam/& bolt of the entire car. He just sold a 68 fastback (eggshell white or some shit, it was an ugly shade of white) w/12k original miles that won the 2016 Houston autorama for 80k. The notchback coupes are WAY more badass

Why waste your money by putting premium gas in all your cars? 87 works just as well unless the manufacturer calls for premium

I'm just debating what should I do. I've been wanting a 2013 mustang 5.0 but I do also have a 1991 mustang 5.0 notch back red that's in fair condition. It has 250k miles with a few dents an could use a paint job. I also have a 2006 mustang gt that's in perfect condition an only has 87k miles. My question is should I take the money an fix up my 91 mustang or get the 2013 5.0?

@@MapleMotorsNickSouthgate If Im not mistaking you squeeze in the sides of the latch on the sunroof and you can remove it. The sunroofs were cool back then along with t-tops. The sound of the stock 5.0's are like no other. ✔

Anybody want to give me the same money for my 1990 LINCOLN MarkV11LSC 5.0 in better condition than that " Stang" which is a clean machine! Mark V11's are very collectable, mines got the canvas top, looks like a convertible, gold color with cocoa brown canvas!
