The big elephant in the room is the cam failures on the 790 and 890 to me. Instead of denying warranty claims they should do what a good company would do and replace the defective camshafts. I want to like KTM but issues always seem to pop up. They make some cool stuff but reliability comes into question.
I would love to get the overall failure percentage for this issue. I've seen 2018 thru 2023 bikes that have reported this issue. I've read about the issue being oil related but KTM hasn't spoken about it from what I can find. Great fun to ride but from a pr perspective it does hurt them a little bit no question. I will say if the 765 R didn't exist I would definitely buy this over the Z900.
@@MotorcycleDemoRiders The silence is the bad part of it all and seeing 2023 bikes already with a failure is just bad.(Thought I saw a 2024 failure) Hardness test of the cam lobes...Honda had a cam lobe issue on early v4's and they turned that around. I'd take the xsr900 over the z900. The ride is just better. CP3 engine, 6axis, 45lb lighter, Alum frame, Cruise control. Just a better ride and about the only bike that makes me wanna leave the gsxr750 lol. Z900 looks good though but its about the ride
