Good video, thank you. I find the macro difficult to focus. It hunts for the focus, and usually takes the shot out of focus, especially if there is any wind. I will try your tip of using a smaller aperture.
Thanks for the tips. These are helpful. I was trying to catch pics of bees today but I just ended up with a lot of blurry shots. I’ll try to go manual with a high shutter speed 🙏
If you really want to use Ricoh GR then the IIIx version is better for close up macro shots (more compression vs GR III 28mm lens). But to be honest, I also take product shots in a lightbox and GR is the last camera that comes to my mind. A good sharp (across the frame) 50mm lens is a good start for bigger stuff. Then a 100mm macro lens will be even better for jewellry and small products in general.
Depth of field is very shallow in macro mode at f2.8 so it's easy to move in/out of focus. Hold the camera as steady as you can and take multiple photos of one subject. It will get there :) Good luck!
for pure macro in a small package i would go with the olympus tg5 / tg6 (especially cool: underwater macros!) but as a whole package the grIII beats the tg6 easily, the tg6 is a complete mess for landscape photography, especially the rendering of bright objects like the sky is horrible!
Underwated macro sounds awesome :) I always longed for a high performance 'tough' camera but there isn't one. Maybe next GR will be at least weatherproof...
@@PetrGardianTV yes that would be great! i wanted to buy the grIII but i've seen a few people complaining about the dustproofness of the cam, they had dust inside the objective :-( a weatherproof gr would be an absolute win for me, i would sell my tg6 instantly :D have a good day!
Thanks for the video, it was very good :)
I'm glad you liked it! :)

Steady subject and steady hands are key to a good macro with any camera. Keep trying, it will work!
Thanks for the tips
Glad you find them helpful!
Very helpful video ... amazing camera
Glad to hear that! Yes, the GR3 is awesome :)

Glad it helped! It will still be a challenge with GR and its slow AF. But the results are worth it!
Do you use flash for macro?
No, I don't. Just available light.
Would you recommend the gr3 for jewellery/watch photography? I aim to take more organic style pictures aswell as professional (with lightbox etc)

Thank you just tried to use this whilst out and 85% were out of focus … I was set at f2.8 … so will try again tomorrow 😊 Tnx again
