    Should have been pulled forward a couple more feet too.
    Couple jack stands strapped to the trailer just for this helps a lot too.

    That's why you have someone in the truck with their foot on the brake or put it in 4wd so the front wheels can't roll - if you were on a hill when that rear axle came off the ground you would've gone for a ride! 😄

      Nope, wrong again.
      It's actually best to put packing or a strut under the rear of the trailer so it doesn't tip in the first place.

      No it's best to have ramps with stands that stop the trailer from tilting back. Or if nothing else a block of wood under the back of the trailer. Allowing your trailer to do this is causing stress on the metal and will cause the trailer to fail eventually.

    You get on the trailer with your bucket in the air but you lower your bucket when your skids are on the ramp… this creates a nice mass distribution… or you can just back on.

    Would help if his ramps had a support under contacting the ground to prevent tipping.

    Put a heavy duty oak log under the back end of the trailer before loading like that to keep it from squatting. Gooseneck Tilt Decks are so much easier on your truck.

    If you don't know the width of the tracks by heart you shouldn't be trailering a heavy machine, especially in wet weather with slippery ramps. And you need a bigger truck or a single machine trailer.🤦🏼‍♂️ Could have been SO much worse.

    Tracked loaders can be loaded frontwards with no problem, I do mine always forward and Never have had a problem. Loading forward wasn’t the issue it was the trailers lack of ramp support brace, if ramps were braced properly no issues, skid loaders are much more susceptible to tipping and usually a good idea to back on

    • @leroybullied7705

      They are back heavy to compensate for the weight in the bucket, Don't understand why people load them frontwards, the back window, escape hatch is a piece of plexiglass, doesn't shatter if it gets hit with a sone.

    • @johnzadinya2181
      @johnzadinya2181 7 місяців тому

      @@leroybullied7705 that makes no sense. Just because they're back heavy doesn't mean you need to load backwards you just pull a little more forward on the trailer and adjust your tongue weight accordingly. The glass on the front aint gonna break from a stone I had them hit hard and not even scratch. Same could be said about your windshield..... loading backwards increases the risk of load failure like sliding off crooked because you can't see anything hardly. Absolutely zero reason to load backwards unless you lack brain cells

I've moved skid steers for years and close friends with several companies never once, not ONCE seen or heard of a skid steer getting hit with a rock it broke the glass. If somthing flies on the highway that heavy it can also go through your truck radiator. Should we haul equipment driving the truck backwards so we don't hurt the windshield too?

    I have a smaller machine about 7000lbs and load into a dump trailer and have similar issues. I've been debating getting a deck over or lo pro equipment trailer to move the machine. I'm going with the lo pro to avoid this problem. But the deck overs are nice if you move a lot of palletized material.

    • @Jddlincoln

      Only need to load backwards to to move more weight forward on the trailer. skid steers are ass heavy by design. If the trailer is big enough that you can safely move the load forward for sufficient tongue weight, there is no need to load backwards. Now for a small equipment trailer, yes this load would need to be backwards for proper weight distribution.
