Perhaps to go even deeper than this would be to determine what the game considers "good quality play time". Is it (like one would expect) the quality of the opponents? Or is it the competition's reputation?
This is sort of what I attempted by using multiple leagues of varying quality, with teams with different seasonal expectations. There is further we can knuckle down though, which I may try and incorporate in a 2nd part
You have to be on the pitch for 15 minutes to get a score, but I don't think 42 games at 15 minutes is going to be as developmentally good as longer, but I also don't recall seeing anything on it. Which also comes into what sort of team you have and do you have the ability play a youngster in it for an extended amount of time? There was video circa FM21 where a creator took a wonderkid and had the game sim thru a couple of years and develop it, and then he did it thru a course of the save, and while the game did a decent job, the player obviously did better. Unfortunately (of fortunately depending on you POV), there's a lot of moving parts to player development.
@@jayhuahua I got to he point where I had a spreadsheet and was taking screenshots of players attributes every three months just to see how they were improving, color coding and all....and I fricking hate spreadsheets :-)
Glad you enjoyed it. Well, if they weren't locked at clubs I'd anticipate them moving to big clubs and all hitting potential most likely. There's lots of variations of career simulations of players not locked at clubs on the channel 👍
Could the facilities be an issue, if they are downgraded over time, the poorer clubs would not be able to upgrade them, in order to maintain them at "State of the Art". So would excellent coaches (locked to the clubs) be a better/similar option?
I wanted a few different leagues and Croatia was one I hadn't ventured to before so thought why not. Even better that someone from Croatia watches and has commented. Amazing 👍
Perhaps one tweak to this experiment. The results aren't 100% conclusive, as with Wally Wales, not only is TNS playing in an inferior league, TNS had below average training facilities. How would the development of these players differ, if they all had perfect facilities - or if you gave above average facilities to the "weaker" teams, while giving Milan, Liverpool, etc, below average facilities.
Oh interesting. The consensus so far seems to want the same facilities across the players, but you're requesting the better teams to be given worse facilities to try and skew the results further. Very interesting... something to think on
great video again as always, just curious, been watching for a few months now and wonder where the "Ralph watch" thing came about? Seems to me like a random manager you love 😂
He became England manager so often in these experiments I started expecting it, and predicting he would before we checked. It just became a bit of a thing and when I didn't check, I get comments asking where Ralph watch is haha. It happened mainly in the winter update period, after that he doesn't get the job as often
Another great experiment. Certainly not what I thought tbh. Just wondering how it effected the mental side of their dev if at all. I always look for teams doing well for loans for this exact reason.
Maybe I could have focused in more on attribute variation as this might have been very interesting, especially for Jonny getting relegated all the while
Hi, How about an experiment where you use CR7 and Messi attributes (PA Upto you, either their PA at 16 or peak potential in pregame editor)from them being 16 year old, set to ages 16 and free agents. If anything it should get you clicks by mentioning the 2 player sand having them in the thumbnail 😂
I notice injuries on some of them during the breaks where you check on them…would those random injuries not potentially affect their development in the long run? Or were you clearing the injury history at intervals and just not showing it? Obviously over the course of performing this experiment many times, the injuries would eventually wash out, but on a single test like this then it seems like it could have had an effect. edit: I watched further on and saw that injuries weren’t being cleared with the editor. I think that could be potentially skewing results. Also the more I watched the more I noticed that you frequently focused on goal tallies instead of their individual attribute development. The attributes should be the focus of this type of test, as their goal scoring is almost entirely dependent on the league that they are in (as evidenced by the Norwich lad only scoring 9 in the Prem after tearing up the Championship the year before)
They have injury proneness of 1, so anything would usually be minor. When we return its the summer, so could it have been the Int symbol, not Inj? If a player was consistently injured then absolutely it would harm development, but I don't think this was the case. I appreciate the comment and your interest in the experiment 👍
@@jayhuahua wow, thanks for the quick response! I actually just edited my comment with another thought I had (btw don’t take these thoughts as negative criticism, just feedback from a new subscriber) Really cool idea you’ve done here, love the work put in too
I appreciate all feedback, helps me grow as a creator. I focused on goals scored as strikers primarily, but feel I did touch on the players CA, as this is in the shortlist as a column. Maybe if it was too brief and seemed a bit scatty and all over the place, well all I can say is welcome to the channel, its all like that 🤣
Ive been looking for this kind of analysis for FM23 since the game released. Thanks for putting this out, youve gained a sub
Glad its of interest 👍 i like to answer questions I have in my experiments, well some of them. Some of them are just silly
Underrated content creator ✊️
Appreciate that, heres to 1 day being over rated haha
Wally getting 1,247 all time goals is solid
Yet still was dead last in his ability, in spite of constant solid performances
I see many players a lot of stories can’t wait to watch this when I get home !!!
I hope it lives up to expectation 👍

Absolutely there is, just looking to delve into some of the intricacies of the game, hoping to educate myself and others with experiments

I love spreadsheets and this is the kind of thing I'd like to do, but I don't have the time haha
Enjoyed this, followed. Would love to see the careers these players had if they weren’t locked to one club btw

thanks for your nice content :) maybe it's possible to give all teams the same training facilities for a similar experiment.
It's potentially an idea for a part 2 to really double down on it and see the variation of ability compared to this one. I might just do that
Could the facilities be an issue, if they are downgraded over time, the poorer clubs would not be able to upgrade them, in order to maintain them at "State of the Art".
So would excellent coaches (locked to the clubs) be a better/similar option?
Another good idea. Maybe run both variants and do a comparison. Some great suggestions in the comments makes me want to delve much deeper into this
I'm Croatian so it's great to see a Croatian player in one of your experiments, great video as always Jay

I was the guy who suggested Johnny English 😂 legend 🍻
Haha, I did try to go and find the comment to shout you out, but i forgot which video it was 🤣
We need a Ralph only video, make him young and we watch his career and inevitably becoming England manager
A full Ralph watch is incoming on May 30th, marking 1 year to the day I first uploaded 👍

Seems to be more a factor of facilities and/or competition level than player or club form. And playing time ofc in a real save.
In the Croatian league, players cannot play before their 17th birthday, so Colin did not play at all in the first season.
I did not know this. Good nugget of info though, thank you 👍
Great video
Appreciate it 👍
same experiment but the clubs have perfect training facilities
Seems a common suggestion, one I'm hapoy to take on board 👍

In croatian League players under 18 cannot play in senior Football
Someone mentioned, but thank you for your input. Always good to be educated for potential future experiments 👍
