New drinking game: take a shot every time Trevor forgets to use his consumables😅 Awesome entry into the story! Loving the desperate flight from invasion.
The 1" rule for cover, only applies if the figure is at least partly obscured by the cover. Basically if the model is so big, you can see most of it, but it is near cover, you assume it is ducking down and hiding as best it can. So you were right from that angle the figure wasn't obscured at all so it doesn't count as in cover even though it was within 1".
That introductory cinematic was absolute fire! The way the swarm alien rolled into frame actually made me sit forward in my chair and go "Oh shit" Keep up the great work!
Hi Trevor, loving this new series. I actually started playing 5 Parsecs From Home because of you. It's my first ever tabletop gaming experience and I'm loving it!
Thanks for the video. I've been playing both this and Five Leagues, and as a tip to anyone else when preparing physical assets for play, I usually do the paperwork/RP part until I roll up the enemy and terrain requirements, then do all the necessary building and painting for the battle. When I return to playing it's battle time. After that I go back to the paperwork and do the post-battle rolls, then start the next turn and stop again when I hit that turn's build/paint requirements.
Terrain piece idea: A large shop sign for “Renzo’s Discount Drugstore - stim-paks, medkits, rageout, and more!” Or a billboard advertising stimpaks “On your next job, try Hodgson’s Mentholated Stim-Paks”
Man Katria (I hope this is how her name is spelled, I can't remember exactly) is a BEAST every time! I'm so glad you remembered the stim pack, losing her would suck! This battle went wonderfully, too! The luck truly was on the crew's side. So much fun to see, although I had hoped the leader put up a better fight, but I'm glad for the crew it didn't. I'm always hyped when a new episode is released, have to wait until just the right time to watch so I can give it my full attention. Thank you so much for another great episode, Trevor!!
I love how you keep doing different things with your seasons! It's interesting to see what you come up with next, instead of just doing the same thing over and over again.
Good time to drop a note and say great job with this campaign. You're absolutely playing 5 Parsecs the way it's meant to be. Love the energy and creativity. Also the tables look great and your painting is better than you give yourself credit for :)
This prove how much this game is entertaining. Being so caught up in the action that action possibilities are simply forgotten. So much emotion everywhere! I agree with some other comments that some sort of prop item could help remember the use of items.( but I think the way you handled the steampack was perfect and, quite frankly, appropriate in the situation ). Something I was wondering durring this episode. I thought that beeing shot and not killed had a 1inch push effect? In one situation it would have pushed one monster to another one rendering both of them stunned. In the situation it wouldn't have changed anything though.
You kicked butt this turn, Trevor! Fate smiled on you this day. Looking forward to the next turn: starship stuff and a new planet... Fun times! Can't wait!
I played a Five Parsecs 3e campaign past the point where my crew was untouchable and I was rooting for the bad guys. You've got me excited to start over with a new crew!
Dude I know you're a super famous voice actor and everything but your UA-cam production is friking awsome I love it and av just ordered loads of stuff to get playing this game with my bro and who knows maybe stargrave from there thanx
That went really well! I'm so glad you remembered the stimpack lol! As always I'm blown away with how much effort you put into your videos. Hope you had an awesome Christmas and I can't wait for the next episode. Have a good one Trevor!
As a good game-aid for things like stimpacks, turn 2 and 4 events, morale checks...It might be a good practice to make little reminders. Index cards for each pawn with stimpacks/rage outs/other consumables in colored ink/marker Index cards also would have key pieces of equipment highlighted (visor, scope, stealth suit) Turn 1 through X cards with each card a number with notes like event and morale written under the number as a cue. Also a player reference card with every battle step so that you can check off each part as you go each turn. I have a terrible memory myself and definitely rely on "cheatsheets." (If you aint cheatin', you aint tryin'.)
Wonderful episode! I have been impatiently waiting for this episode and you did not disappoint! I love the way you organize everything and your story telling ability and enthusiasm are just excellent! You have by far the best videos regarding this game. Keep up the good work and please please please keep this series going! P.S. I’ve been hooked on playing this game since watching your videos haha
Great job. Love the show. Onto my second viewing of the other seasons too. No one makes solo gaming so immersive. Even this (great) solo skirmish wargame becomes roleplaying in a way no one else does. Already looking forward to the next episode. Would like to see you do a scifi rpg campaing too (like Traveller or Coriolis or something like that). I'm sure that too would be great to see you do. Best wishes for the new year btw.
Cool episode. Maybe it would be easier to remember consumables if you made a little prop on the field for them, like index cards or maybe some large marbles that you put away when used?
Hei Trevor, you could get coin capsules and print some custom design disks to put inside and use as tokens. You can easily reuse to other things by changing the inside images.
One of the bullet points under Flee Invasion tells you that "No payment, purchases, or Campaign Events take place while you flee, ..." but you worked it out anyway :)
What a super cool little game, I'm loving this new series! I tell all my friends to watch your channel, Trevor cus you have the most varied but consistent RPG content on youtube :)
I thought it would have been hilarious if the Tax man shows up in the hangar as they're loading aboard, COMPLETELY oblivious to the invasion, and the Captain tells him to come aboard to review their logs, and they take off with the poor fool aboard, saved from the invasion. :D
Excellent! Been looking forward to this. I bought both Five Parsecs and his fantasy version, Five Leagues from the Borderlands. Hope I can find some time over the holidays to give em a go. Happy Holidays, Trevor!
What a great series this is turning out to be. Hope you're well and having a great Chrismas and New Year, Trevor - all the best! Where did you get the groovy spaceship from, btw?
Walp, you sold me on 5PFH. Granted it won't look as cool with using whatever bits and bobs I can scavenge and repurpose for terrrain and the miniatures will probably be mostly 1.5-2" Transformers toys since I'm definitely not starting another multi-hundred dollar collectible category, but a space opera solo tactical game just dances on all my buttons for having a fun time.
Whiteboard / pinboard, somewhere noticeable, it could help. Somewhere near the main camera is preferable because you look at the camera a lot. You can write all your consumables there... Or just write in huge letters, "STORY POINTS / CONSUMABLES!!!"
re:"drinking game" while watching, Dominic Stangl or maybe instead of drinking an alternative cannabis partaking game: eat a piece of edibles or toke every time Trevor does whatever seems worth it. This show is awesome to watch while high.
Keep the episodes coming!! Do you have an idea how long are you playing this "campaign"? I set miself the goal of 3 completed quests and I got 1 done already!
Try writing down the special conditions/power ups on an index card and folding it in half like a tent so it stands out against all the other token, terrain and sheets of notes. Also: are you going for the Megadungeon23 challenge?
This video is probably far too old to get replies, but I'll try anyway. Can you remember where you got that ship model? It's brilliant, I'd love to use it for my own campaigns.
Trevor replied to a different comment saying it was sent in by a viewer and is not sure of the origin. A Google lens search says it's a ship called "Grampa's Tarsus" from the video game ''Winged Commander Privateer" It looks like the STL can be found online and it can be 3d printed. I'll let you do that research.
Hi again, Watched another UA-camr play 31 mission never lost a character. Think he may have cut himself alot of slack. The ship was the centerpiece of the board and battle. PLEASE send me info on how to buy on of these or info on someone who could make one for me. I am allergic to paint and glue and have to commission all of my miniatures and terrain. THANKS for the battle and all help getting a ship. Charles
Trevor I really think you hate your people. Use your consumables! Use your story points! Save your people. Try putting out physical markers to remind yourself. Rewrite the turn sequence and add in a big sign that says "USE CONSUMABLES" dead people don't need consumables. Your people are at your mercy. Save them
"I could re-roll that, but I spent a lot of time painting these miniatures." LMAO! I love that line.
New drinking game: take a shot every time Trevor forgets to use his consumables😅
Awesome entry into the story! Loving the desperate flight from invasion.

So you were right from that angle the figure wasn't obscured at all so it doesn't count as in cover even though it was within 1".
Maybe use something like poker chips for consumables. Having something physical in front of you, helps me at least to remember them.
I completely agree having a few tokens in front of you may help with tracking the items
Also an index card for the resources that says what they are.
I honestly can't think of a more effective advert for a game than this series. So invested already!
That introductory cinematic was absolute fire! The way the swarm alien rolled into frame actually made me sit forward in my chair and go "Oh shit"
Keep up the great work!

Makes me very happy to know Trevor plays Tyranids
The production value is fantastic. Perfect editing, no dead air, and the sound effects are effective but unobtrusive
And the ambient music!
Oh awesome A new episode, I can put off sleep for a bit longer.
Man Katria (I hope this is how her name is spelled, I can't remember exactly) is a BEAST every time! I'm so glad you remembered the stim pack, losing her would suck!

Just found your channel and I binge watched the Five Parsecs series… I love it! Can’t wait for the next episode. You have a new subscriber!
A new episode! I’ve become obsessed with 5 parsecs since watching you play and eagerly await future installments! Keep it up!
Good time to drop a note and say great job with this campaign. You're absolutely playing 5 Parsecs the way it's meant to be. Love the energy and creativity. Also the tables look great and your painting is better than you give yourself credit for :)

I... LOVE... THAT... SHIP!!!!!!!!!
You kicked butt this turn, Trevor! Fate smiled on you this day. Looking forward to the next turn: starship stuff and a new planet... Fun times! Can't wait!
🍻
Thanks!
Another fantastic episode and again, I love the 70's flavor starship. Best wishes for this Holiday season.
Hold on... did you say that you painted the Swarm Brood for this episode? If so... GREAT JOB!!!!
I played a Five Parsecs 3e campaign past the point where my crew was untouchable and I was rooting for the bad guys. You've got me excited to start over with a new crew!
Riveting stuff! Realy enjoying this space adventure, better than watching crap on TV

Having so much fun watching this new series. It's SO much more you have to remember compared to Dominion and Savage Worlds. THANKS TREVOR!
Friend Trevor
I hope you and your family are having a great holiday season. Thank you for sharing your passion and talent for rpgs with us.
I've growned addicted to this series xD
I regret nothing
I just found these episodes, I love it. This is a great miniatures and rpg combo.
As a good game-aid for things like stimpacks, turn 2 and 4 events, morale checks...It might be a good practice to make little reminders.

Brilliant game! It was packed with really cinematic moments and I can't wait to see how the campaign develops following an alien invasion!
Cool episode. Maybe it would be easier to remember consumables if you made a little prop on the field for them, like index cards or maybe some large marbles that you put away when used?

very cool. been a fun series to watch while I prepare my own solo games.
Was a little bit disappointed, you faced the same griblies, but as always you bring everything to life and make your episodes, unmissable!! 🔥🙌🏻♥️
i knew once he said don't forget rage out and stimpacks i knew the stars had aligned for a great video.
Amazing work! Keep these coming please, I actual look forward to a new one coming out when I open up the UA-cams.
Great episode! Combat flowed real smoothly
Hope you had a good holiday Trevor!

Was waiting for this. 🎁 Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 🎄🥳
Excellent! Been looking forward to this. I bought both Five Parsecs and his fantasy version, Five Leagues from the Borderlands. Hope I can find some time over the holidays to give em a go. Happy Holidays, Trevor!
I have loved watching these.
Next session, prop up a large plaque with large bold letter says "STIM-PACK!" 😁😁
I'm pretty sure that communicator acts like advantage. You just add an additional dice to the pool and discard the worst roll.
How convenient, I was just watching these a few hours ago. I really like this series.
Great, really good show!!!
another stellar chapter.. looking forward to the next episode
Another great episode. At least you remembered the stim pack towards the end of the battle. Fate smiled on the crew this time.
What a great series this is turning out to be. Hope you're well and having a great Chrismas and New Year, Trevor - all the best!
Where did you get the groovy spaceship from, btw?
Good episode, your dice rolls were extremely good!!
Nice! I was waiting for another episode!
Great episode as always.
I've been really looking forward to this!

Excellent. Thrilling stuff!
Inspiring as usual. Nice story.
You need a vertical card with the consumable products. xD
Lock and load... And hopefully survive!
Don't worry guys! If you're the sole survivor of this campaign you might get your own Starforged campaign! Or maybe Hostile or D100 Space...
So who makes the fantastic ship at the center of the board?
Thans for your content! Love the starship model, where is it from?
Whiteboard / pinboard, somewhere noticeable, it could help. Somewhere near the main camera is preferable because you look at the camera a lot. You can write all your consumables there... Or just write in huge letters, "STORY POINTS / CONSUMABLES!!!"
I love this series! Please do Rangers of Shadow deep next! 🙏🏼
It looks like the gods of universal Karma are trying to make up for the previous beat-down your crew endured --nice!
this game is addicting, dang you trevor
LIke others have said, try using something physical to remember you have consumables
This is really gripping to follow.
re:"drinking game" while watching, Dominic Stangl or maybe instead of drinking an alternative cannabis partaking game: eat a piece of edibles or toke every time Trevor does whatever seems worth it. This show is awesome to watch while high.
Keep the episodes coming!! Do you have an idea how long are you playing this "campaign"? I set miself the goal of 3 completed quests and I got 1 done already!
19:05 My wife would like to know why I am yelling "Stim pack! Stim pack!" at the screen.
Are you aware of Five Leagues from the Borderlands? It’s the fantasy sister to Five Parsecs. I just found out about it.
Let’s go 🎉
Two words: sticky notes!
Try writing down the special conditions/power ups on an index card and folding it in half like a tent so it stands out against all the other token, terrain and sheets of notes.
Also: are you going for the Megadungeon23 challenge?
Loving this series! You should get a whiteboard, and when you make those mental notes, make them big bold notes you review every round =).
Binge watching this like a Netflix series and finding myself concerned about the well being of your mini crew. Mourning Jenna's fate 😢
Is that a Taurus from Privateer?
nice tyranids
Bennies

Don’t forget stim packs and rage out.
Is that ship available as an stl file?
Hi again,

The ship was sent to me by a viewer. No idea where he got it…
Please make a Memory List for yourself to review EACH turn to see if your GEAR/SKILLS could be useful?
😁
