- Here it is - our wedding video! We got married on September 26th in Tuscany, Italy, after a six year long relationship that started with two years of long distance between Canada and Denmark.
Our wedding was an intimate ceremony with only our closest friends and family, it was very emotional, beautiful and will go down as one of the happiest days of our lives - probably the only time we'll ever have had all of our loved ones in the same place in such a stunning setting. Here you can hear our personal vows that we exchanged during the ceremony.
Italy unfortunately still doesn't allow LGBTQ+ marriages, so it was a symbolic ceremony. We chose Italy because Lilian grew up there and because there are few places more romantic than Tuscany.
We planned, organized and decorated everything ourselves and used a beautiful AirBnB rental as our wedding venue and spent a few days with our close friends there after as well.

OMG, this was so beautiful. I was crying. The filming, stunning setting, your vows, you two beautiful ladies, your matching but reversed black and white garments, etc. White haired Lilian in black and dark-haired Alexis in white. Yin and Yang. And while they were both wonderful, I have to say, Alexis is an amazing writer. You need to blog or write poems or something Alexis!

What a shame LGBT weddings are not legal in Italy. But depending on where you settle, particularly if you live in a country that offers same-sex marriage, it’s best to go and get that legal part done as legal marriage offers protections you don’t get just being together.
