  • The Mavic 3 Pro is the first drone to offer 3 cameras: 24mm, 166mm, and new for this year, 70mm. While its other two cameras remain unchanged from the original Mavic 3, for many, the new medium tele 70mm is a more practical choice over the 166mm.

    This makes me want this drone more then the mini 3 pro which I have because of its higher speed and 1000 meter hight limit

    The classification situation in Europe is more complicated. Even with the A2 Certificate of Competency a Mavic 3 Pro can not be flown within 50 meters of people or buildings. Without the A2 C of C it is 150 meters. Currently the Mavic 3 Classic has only one restriction. It cannot deliberately be flown directly over people. From 1st January next the original Mavic 3 will have only this same single restriction. Also, the x7 telephoto on the Mavic 3 is a 162mm with F 4.4. So it should have a slightly wider f.o.v. to the Pro's x7 telephoto, although with inferior image quality.

    In my opinion, you can save a bunch of money 💰 and just get the M3 classic so you can do all the cropping you need to do in post. M3P just saves you time in post while giving you a “parallax” look to your shots which is not necessarily a high demand to have especially for real estate gigs. Heck you can make money with a mini 3 pro or Air2S( which ALOT of people forgot about all of a sudden 😂) especially with photogrammetry.

    I don't understand why you need to have three sensors, if theoretically you could put a zoom lens in front of your sensor and still use the Hasselblad camera in its full glory?

    • @MakeUseOf
      @MakeUseOf  10 місяців тому

      Cost, I'm guessing. Cheaper to add another sensor with fixed lens rather than a system to change the zoom level with a physical, moving lens.

      @@MakeUseOf Yes, and I think that drone would start getting too close to the Inspire, and they want to keep the professional niche separate from the consumer.... but it would be a beautiful disruption to the market if DJI sold a consumer drone with a proper lens!!!! (or a smaller, more affordable Inspire)

    It's really stupid that the mavic pro series does not offer a kit with the new rcn2 controller for me I don't want to use a 5-in display when I have a Samsung 12 and a half inch display tablet. Plus I don't like the fact that the RC controller has internal antennas I've heard they suck I don't know why they did that this is the only thing that's stopping me from getting a mavic 3 pro

      Kind of the same situation here. I just got the Air 3 with the RC2 which is really, really good controller, the signal is outstanding, the OS is responsive. Like you said the RC(1) with the screen is crap, laggy with bad signal, while the N1 is good w/o screen.
      I wanted to the the Mavic 3 Pro but I refuse to get the flagship drone with outdated RCs, I don’t want to pay for the RC Pro because I have a feeling a new version will surface soon. If only they made the RC2 compatible with Mavic 3 line… but I doubt it, even if it works in O3+ mode, but knowing DJI, they will not. The Air 3 is a fantastic drone still.

      @@fernandocornelis9397 yeah I totally understand you I'm in the same boat but I think coming from the mavic Air 2 that the air 3 would be a significant worth of an upgrade as far as battery life obstacle avoidance photography and video and also the new oc4 , but I don't want no damn smart controller which is why I think I'm going to go with the air three I'm just waiting for the FAA to roll out their new regulations with remote ID I want to see how things play out a little bit

    This is just a question and not a critique of your video as the video is pretty good.
    My question is. Why do you prefer to record the video from the drone in 24 fps when 24 fps is nothing but a laggy mess?
    I could understand the choice of 24 fps if it had been a cinema graded video production, but not from a consumer drone 🙂.

    • @kevinruan
      @kevinruan 11 місяців тому +1

      24 fps is fine with enough motion blur (using ND filters and decreasing shutter speed) and using matching timeline FPS. The problem comes when you put a 24fps video onto a 30 fps timeline which results in a stutter every 1/6 of a second.

    • @abrokeengineer967
      @abrokeengineer967 11 місяців тому

      24 is much more cinematic, higher fps doesn't mean it's automatically good

    • @TheNorwegianDronePilot
      @TheNorwegianDronePilot 11 місяців тому

      @@abrokeengineer967 I find 30 fps to be the sweet spot for most cinematic look. 24 fps will always be stuttery and not pleasing to look at, even with correct motion blur.
      Have a look at this video: /watch?v=WIo7jwsYbxc
      There this guy goes into why 30 fps is more pleasing to look at.

    • @abrokeengineer967
      @abrokeengineer967 11 місяців тому

      @@TheNorwegianDronePilot I don't think this guy actually provided a good example. On some of his shots where a 30FPS or even higher is desired, he chose 24FPS and resulted in extremely bad videos. It really depends on the shot, there is no concrete answer to what FPS you shoot at.

    • @TheNorwegianDronePilot
      @TheNorwegianDronePilot 11 місяців тому

      @@abrokeengineer967 I think he's right. He's basicly saying that there is extremely small differences from 24 to 30 fps in looks that it's just better to go for 30 fps to prevent most of the stuttering and that.
      I'm also willing to offer some few % lower cinematic look for a lot smoother video playback.
      24 fps even with motion blur messes with my brain.
      The guy here also goes into this here: /watch?v=zPRdd9jcmds
