Jang really made my childhood man, it's cool to see him still going strong with the reviews
Mine to, i couldn t imagine my life without him
The Force is strong with him
same
I will watch this mans content till i die.
"this is not a 944" haha I appreciate that you are actually a car-guy
I never knew I could be a fan of individual LEGO designers, but Mike Psiaki definitely changed that. From the Blue Power Jet to my favorite, the Saturn V, I've loved his creativity and eye for detail. Always excited when he comes out with a new model, and this one definitely didn't disappoint!
I have the Saturn V It was fun to build
Jamie Berard is good too! He designed the Creator Fairground Mixer set
The Saturn v is a fan build I believe psiake just touched it up a bit but he still blows my mind when I build his sets
@@jasonbanas6716 I believe in a lot of cases, they end up building a new model that meets with lego's standards using the fan submission as a reference point. I could be wrong but that's the last I heard about how they do it.
His stuff has been the highlight of my experience with flickr.
I've been admiring his MOCs on there for years and years, and I have only recently learned that he's actually an official lego designer. He definitely has the chops and is doing fantastic work!
It is 4 in the morning, and I saw this. Yes please
Finally a Porsche review instead of "porsh" ;)
The more I stare at this build, the more I'm tempted to get two of them. One for the classic turbo build, and another to make my own custom widebody turbo.
Going japanese on it? I absolutely love the Rauh Welt Begriff bodies! That man is a true artist!
I want to buy all the pieces but in another color so that I can make the other one a bit different
@@maartnnn0507 That's pretty much my inspiration. I'd love to attempt a custom build like that. Might even try my hand at using some light bricks for some underglow. Just gotta wait for some of those new specialized pieces to be made into more colors.
@@PatrickWDwyer yeah that was my thought too, only thing that sucks is the one specialised rear piece wich is only available in white
The minimal exposed studs makes it look so clean
Have this model and I absolutely love it, there is also instructions for a moc Lamborghini countash using only the pieces in this set online. That model is also stunning.
You’re such a uniquely great Lego reviewer because you actually know what you’re talking about when it comes to car sets!
*whispers devil-like in Jang's ear*: buy another set so that you might display both configurations together, side by side, as it was meant to be.
Or just bricklink the remainder...
I built this set and it looks amazing in person. The only thing that I really didn't like was the small red spot on the floor on the side of the passenger's seat. That could easily have been covered up.
This thing looks absolutely amazing. And I actually love the studs-on-top rear bumper... it's kind of a signature letting you know it's a Lego product.
Jang remember this:
If Lego ever make a bad Porsche, please call it a POORSHE.
The first Speed Champions Porsche from 2015 was quite poor
😆
@Jangbricks with the windshield parts. They probably scuff directly in the factory (if the machine toss 100s of them into single container), not in the package. Anytime I requested replacement, it arrived even worse, and those are individually sent in plastic bag and bubble wrap.
Well that's unfortunate :(
Yeah it’s definitely an issue. The windshield on the Ecto-1 is an absolute nightmare. I made a PSA about that in my review in EB for it, Lego had no clue what I was talking about when I told them this new clear material is getting seriously scratched...
Not surprised it gets scuffed when it comes to production processing. Unless you own your own lego company.
building this set now, and loving it.. I with the rear turning signals were the same as the front.
the 911 silhouette will always be one of the most iconic of all time, even in lego
There was a giveaway on Facebook where you could win this set. All you had to do was build your dream car from Lego, then post a picture in the comments and you were automatically entered. Out of the 350 comments 5 were RC or full-sized cars with the watermark still on the picture, at least 20 were not real Lego, around 50 MOC's made by children with 5 that actually looked respectable, and and the rest were Speed Champions and Creator sets. The guy who submitted a bone stock 76896 Nissan GT-R Nismo set witout any modifications won.
Oh LEGO...
bruhhh
I doubt the average marketing guy over at LEGO who is charge of promotions is well-versed in consumer-release sets. Still, what an epic fail
@@ghoti41628 I failed to mention, that this was a third party webshop and not the official Lego website.
Reminds me of our county fair.
People send in literal Lego- designed sets and win first prize. The little kids that actually put creativity into their designs don't even get a mention.
I’ve never been a huge car guy myself, but this model is pretty cool. Lego always does a phenomenal job with the Creator expert series. Thanks, Jang!
Man I know what you mean about the scuffs and scratches. Top of Ninjago Gardens was bad for me.. I got replacements from lego.. that were basically just as bad.
Lego likes to use Pythagorean triples to make those angled connections like the windshield. They’re usually (3,4,5) triangles. They used one for the side steps of the ship in Pirates of barracuda bay which was genius
This review was one of your best in recent memory. Awesome job, Jang!
As a Boxster S owner the second I saw LEGO reveal this I knew I had to get it. Got it right when it came out and along with the recent bat mobile they are my two favorite sets. My favorite detail by far is how they actually made the engine different for the turbo model. It genuinely looks like an air cooled flat six engine
I was on the fence about this set, and I don’t know why. This review has changed my thoughts enough to go pick it up.
I was out of the lego loop before I saw these upscaled lego cars and before I got out of the loop I thought “man why do we have these, not minifig compatible so not for me.” But in the time I got away from lego I really got into cars, real life cars, and the porche 911 is undoubtedly the most beautiful and most recognizable car to ever be created. And now I see these segment of lego and I get it now. I think it’s way better than those other toy cars since it’s lego
Had a blast building this. I just wish they wouldn't have gone crazy with the colours on the inside/underside. Kinda sucks if you want to use it as anything apart from a display piece
Colour? Brit detected
@@lutherleblanc2237 the fact your profile picture is the American flag is beautiful

Mike Psiaki should never ever stop making these cars. They are a masterpiece.
I combined the two versions and made a Targa Turbo, only a couple of pieces were missing for the wing.
I did not had to move the rear seats forward. There is a mm between the seat and rear screen.
Seeing the bright yellow, blue and red pieces on the underside immediately kills it for me. Especially for an expensive set like this. Classic Lego.
I wanna get this for Christmas and do a bunch of awesome mods to it
I loved the part at the back when you connect those new rounded 2x4 tiles on the astromech head things. So good
I loved the end of his oppinion. one of his best opinion sections in my opinion.
As a 911 fan I had to get one and very pleased I did. I had a Lego Model Team jeep in the early 90s as a kid and it’s amazing how much the detailing and construction techniques have come on. I was staggered at the way this set comes together as you build it. The way the front windscreen clips in, and then the way the rear is angled perfectly for the roof to fill the gap is pretty amazing. Great fun to build and looks stunning especially as the turbo
Am I the only one holding out for a Corvette...? Those new slopes look like they might come in handy for that
Love how much Jang marvels when a plan comes together! This build sounds even moreso impressive after this review.
This man is my childhood and I'm back as a teen since I got back into lego just for display
omg thumb tabs on a beautiful set
I am absolutely in LOVE with this car!!
Great video Jang!
Great review. You are the best JANG!
Super legit Set design. the best ive seen in a while. Your enthusiasm is very justified.
Thanks for calling out the issues with the new clear plastic material - not only does it scratch more easily, but it's also less transparent than the previous material. Somehow many other reviewers, who unlike you receieve their sets for free from Lego, have been rather silent about this issue.
The Japanese license plate is because they know people wanna make a RWB Porsche
I love this set sooo much for the exact things Jang mentioned. I bought two sets and converted one into a 934 race car and the other into a 935 “slant nose” race car. Both turned out great!
The (formerly) creator expert cars are my absolute favorite thing Lego puts out these days. I look foreward to each and every release with absolute glee. This is without a doubt my favorite one they've put out!
Jangbricks....... it’s been so long since I watched this guy I used to only watch his videos I broke off from LEGO in about 2017 and I’m wanted to get some of these LEGO cars I miss watching him everyday after school
I'm a huge Porsche fan, and I bought this set the second it came out. Its such an enjoyable build.
Your passion is very rewarding. You’re doing a great job!
When I first got my Porsche I was absolutely devastated when I found out the box opens by thumb tabs. I don’t usually care abt boxes, but it hurt to have to mangle such a nice box.
ähm just ignore those and cut open it with a knife. Thats how i open all of my lego-boxes and they are all perfect after.
I'm loving the details on these, up to the orange air filter housing!
Thanks for the excellent and most detailed review! Love your vibe
I just purchased this set over the weekend. I have to say no joke..its simply the best Lego set I have ever built. It is incredibly well made , it really cant be understated.
Anyone else here excited for the new space shuttle set?
Of course 😀
Assembling this it felt like the Lego team must've developed some kind of construction AI to allow them design such a thing. No balanced human could imagine construction mechanics and techniques of this kind without a prohibited substance close to hand.
I was really excited when Lego released the white Speed Champions 911 Turbo. When I heard about this one, I couldn't believe it and how good it looks. I've been lucky enough to afford it. Thanks Jang for the very detailed review.
Good morning Jang, thanks for this video.
I think the reason the Targa version looks good here (with that roof attachment) is because it gives you that clean classic Porsche profile look. I didn't even know the Targa build had that roof attachment until I saw this review and it is also winning me over.
Is it just me, or is it kinda weird that it seemed to be advertised as the "Lego 911 Targa" so heavily? To be fair, I never looked closely into the details of the set, but if it was advertised more as the turbo rather than the targa, I would've been way more interested. The turbo version looks killer!!
Probably trying to cash in on the fact that porche owns the word "targa" when it comes to cars
I'm building Aston Martin this week, already amazed by the designer's ideas and intelligent building techniques
Lego Nailed it on this one. Beautiful display.
Great review, great set!
Always a joy to share your joy!
With the recent leaked images of the recoloured Fiat 500 which seems quite unnecessary IMO, this set would actually be a great candidate for a recolour as you can essentially build 2 different cars with it, so you could have one of each if you so wished. Maybe the same for the Mustang with it's stock and body-kit versions.
As soon as I saw the Targa version, I knew I liked it better. It was funny to watch you slowly come around to the same conclusion.
I'm not a car guy at all, but this set looks amazing.
just got this set and finished it, came to a review and it’s the exact same thoughts i has, fun watch aswell!
Great review - and agree. I built this as the Turbo, and it is on the shelf in my office. One day (in the near future) I’ll have a real one to display it with.
Guess I’m going to buy two boxes!! Both models look amazing!
This build was my first Lego build since I was 10… it was a lot of fun! Just wish it had a working engine w/ pistons.
Very cool Lego Model! For thoughts car fans out there they will live this set.
I was hoping you would review this set :) It's sooooo beautiful!
That interior is amazing.
I was in two minds about getting this set but Im going to have to pull the trigger now. Loved the mustang build and how it built up. This looks and sounds like it will blow my mind. I think Im going to njoy the building process as much as you.
Thanks for the honest review. Certainly enjoyed the positives but also speaking your mind on issues. Lego prices and popularity should mean better quality and consistency. They do a lot right but some things they really need to improve on.
Great set. Great review. Couldn't decide which version I preferred, so I bought two.
Thanks for the great review!
I don’t know why I like these reviews so much, but I do. Maybe it reminds me of my life when I was 8-13 when I collected LEGO.
I love/hate that everytime I see a really nice car set like this and think of Clarkson, May, and Hammond
I always slice the thumb tab boxes. I keep all my boxes and bags so If I ever NEED to sell them, I can
Gotta love those studs
Great video / review. Awesome car
Awesome review as always. Thank you so much for the time, effort and realness of your review. I am hoping someone figures out how to customize it so that it's a turbo targa as that was my dream car growing up. Like one of the other comments, I prefer black, but gosh, what a great set. Gonna have to bite the bullet and buy it.
Pleas compare this with the CADA Porsche set! It would be great to with a comparison between the CADA and the LEGO Porsche!
If I ever buy this set, I’m gonna try build something mixed, aka targa and turbo but basically a Carrera without a wing
That backseat VOID is really out there.
I loved this kit
I just got mine today. Looking forward to building it soon
Not a fan of the 911 or Porshe for that matter but that model is so well done, I’m almost tempted to buy it simply because I’m quite amazed by how good it looks.
Amazing review 👏!
Love these reviews
i GOT THIS FOR MYSELF FOR MY BIRTHDAY, SO HAPPY WITH IT! Last year i got the Mustang, so fits my desk:)
Great review.
I don’t know what or if any colors were offered on the historical Targa/Turbo, but I really wish this had come in something other than white. A bright green would have been nice as I think only the Mini of all the large scale (non-Technic) kits has been green. Anything other than white!
I agree one of the best Lego builds ever!
Fantastic review covering both models. Definitely a bigger fan of the Turbo variation at it all around looks better, uses significantly more pieces for what you're paying. Changed up mine to the Targa the other day to fit a couple of 6" Figma figures, and though the scale is close additional head room was needed. Never had need to adjust the rear seating though. Conversion process was a lot quicker straight forward than expected. Wish Lego had included an additional bag of parts so the sub assemblies could remain intact for quicker conversions. Lastly didn't really notice and color variance in the white, sides the printed window piece which IMO is one of poorest printed prints ever. Not to the extent of the near transparent yellow of some of the Fiat 500 pieces.
If you build another one you could have it in both versions. Great build.
I Have two 10295s, absolutely stellar.
Wow... now that is some exceptional Lego design - to capture those iconic shapes (though that new specialised piece is essential there I think) :)
That void behind the rear seat is meant to be there. It's a little storage space on the real-life car. Same as on a classic VW Beetle.
Nah the real thing is nothing like that. The real cars had fold-down seat backs that would become small horizontal shelves, plus everything was color matched. This is a two-tone rectillinear void with exposed LEGO studs and it's all wrong.
You could also build a targa turbo, not quite in the instructions but still, possible.
I went Targa.... Then went through bag 9, and the instructions...counting shipping it's going to take a whole $5.85 to have a 'Turbo Targa' I'm excited...but learned something interesting: lego ships sets in the US from Illinois, but 'bricks and pieces' orders are hand picked and packed in Denmark...and they're a few weeks behind due to covid and such... 😭
Great review, I’ve been hesitant on this set but finally got it the other week, I’ve built neither turbo or Targa but a narrow body coupe. It’s possible to do it perfectly using no extra parts.
I got a few extra parts ($7) from Bricklink to build a Turbo Targa. I like the look of the widebody and big wing over the plain version but the brick-built rear window on the targa is the best part on this set.
The one thing that should not be in a set labeled 18+ are the So many colourful pieces that destroy the underside along with the colour consitency Jang mentioned.
Great review.
Exactly that, I was also little angry as this big windscreen pieces don't have any protection, so they normally get scratched. Polishing it you could make it even worse...
I perchased the 911 turbo/targa, and It will be here in 2-3 bisiness days! I am quite excited!
