I have been re-watching Wings on DVD, and I just miss this show so much. I wish there will be a reunion of the show...even if it were just a few episodes. Too bad they don't make comedy shows like Wings anymore.
As a former airline employee, Wings was one of my favorite sitcoms. It's run on television pretty much coincided with how long I worked in that sector. Those were the best of times!
I was always fond of her; thought she deserved more. Also thought Wings deserved as much notoriety as other big NBC sitcoms. Thanks for reminding of her.
She's definitely one of my top Hollywood crushes. The most clean cut girl-next-door person to come out of Hollywood in recent times (I know, it has been decades for her now, but I'm not wrong).
Crystal Bernard was exactly MY type: beautiful, down to earth, natural, down to earth. I saw her before "Wings," but was enamored during the show's run. I hope she's happy and doing well. All-in-all, this was a great cast.

They all had a great chemistry together and ALL had me rolling on the floor laughing at times. But I agree with you about "Lowell," he was one of a kind. I worked with Crystal Bernard and Steven Webber on Wings in the "Escape From New York" episode. I played the 3 Card Monte dealer who hustled them out of a hundred bucks. We shot this on NY street on the Paramount Lot. One of my all time favorite experiences in Hollywood. I found Crystal Bernard to be funny smart lovely and very pleasant. A true star. Side note fun fact was that I sat with Tony Shaloub for lunch on that shoot. The reason it lasted 8 years(?) Was because they were so so amazing and wonderful. I remember a lot of sit com sets being horrible pressure cookers but Wings was pure magic.

After you hustle Crystal Bernard out of her money, she and Steven Webber are penniless and are unable to watch the Broadway show that they were going to. Without any money, Steven has to convince Crystal to try out as a drag queen so that they could make their money back! Very funny episode! 😁

At the same time, Cathy was also filming the feature film version of Sgt. Bilko, being produced by Ron Howard's Imagine Entertainment!!!
Crystal bernard looked really good in it's a living and i had a huge crush on her when she was on the show before she dyed her hair blonde and went on to star in Wings. She had the cutest southern accent. I miss her!
I LOVED Wings. It was super funny. It had some excellent writers. I read somewhere that Steven Weber wrote he watched a few episodes of Wings recently and had to admit it was a funny show. I have watched all episodes several times. I adored all the characters. Roy Biggins, Antonio Scarpachi, Casey Chapel...all very talented cast. I think I'll start binging again. Speaking of Happy Days, Crystal had to have been devastated when Erin Moran(Joanie) passed away in 2017 from throat cancer. I would love to see an image with Henry Winkler(The Fonz), Ron Howard(Richie), Crystal(K.C.), Randolph Roberts(Chuck Cunningham no. 2) and John Moran standing in for his late sister, outside the original Cunningham house from Happy Days. BTW, R.I.P., Gavan O'Herlihy, the first Chuck Cunningham!!!
You bring back such great memories. I'm surprised that she didn't have even greater success throughout her career. She was as beautiful as any leading lady on the "A" list of celebrities. What made her even more special, was her down home, "grounded" personality. Add her natural beauty to the mix, and you have the seemingly perfect ingredients for a much more fascinating career. Like you said, who knows what her true ambitions actually were. Whatever the case, we can reflect on her successes, and have nothing but fond memories of her. I remember that duet with Peter Cetera back in the mid 90s, very catchy. As for Wings, I loved that sitcom through the early 90s, and together with Northern Exposure (had a huge crush on Janine Turner at the time) they were my go to shows of the period. I just loved the atmosphere in both of them. Apart from the great writing and performances (in the first few seasons of Wings anyway, NE was great until Rob Morrow left, lost its soul a bit there after) there was that romanticized look at New England and Alaska. At the time I wanted to go live in those places as a result...metaphorically 🙂
I had the pleasure of seeing Crystal Bernard play Annie Oakley in "Annie Get Your Gun" on Broadway in August 2001. She was starring opposite Tom Wopat ("Dukes of Hazzard") who played Frank Butler. They were both terrific.

I loved Wing's, it's right up there in my top 10 favorites. I didn't watch Happy Days after the majority of the original cast left. Never watched made for TV movies too much. I'm glad to hear she was still working after Wing's. BTW I'm sure you have been told this many times, you have a fantastic voice. Thanks for posting this. I really enjoyed watching it.
I loved her on Wings and really enjoyed her duet with Peter Cetera. You didn’t mention her involvement in the Theatre. I also surprisingly got to see her on Broadway in the revival of Annie Get Your Gun where she had replaced Reba McIntyre I believe(Bernadette Peters had originated the role in that revival). Tom Wopat was still the leading man opposite her (which also surprised me as I didn’t know that my favorite Duke from my youth could sing).
I wouldn't say he made it better. Just different. He was very funny on it, no question. David Garrison as Steve was also very funny. They both brought a different dimension to the show, for sure.

Yeah it's a living was a great show. One of the best sitcoms of the 80s. Took place in a restaurant on the top floor of the bonaventure hotel in LA. Used to watch it all the time as a kid growing up in the 80s. I'm 42 now. There were things that were said and things that went on in that show that you couldn't get away with nowadays even if you tried. 😆😆😆😆 just ordered it on DVD the other day and it's very hard to find!

@@willieg7895 Ann Jillian is another forgotten star whom also starred on It's A Living and the rarer Jennifer Slept here in 1983-84! The shows rating were low however during summer reruns Jennifer Slept here's ratings had improved and NBC thought of renewing it for a second season but it never happened plus she was asked to return to It's A Living for a third season as the reruns we doing well in the ratings!! 💁❤🙌
I was really young when Happy Days went off the air but I almost forgot she was on that show loved her on wings I still think Wings holds up well overtime can’t believe it’s been off the air since 97 I believe I would like to think she managed her money well and just got tired of the spotlight but she brought me a lot of joy when I was a kid Thank You for this video

Crystal Bernard was a total babe! Sweet personality and a really good actress. She was what I called the prototypical wife! I had such a huge crush on her since Happy Days! Not sure what happened to her but I'm sure that she's living a very good, happy and peaceful life!
She still is, although she's now in her late 50's- BTW, three years ago, Crystal mourned the passing of her Happy Days co-star, Erin Moran. Crystal had to have been devastated, when Erin passed away. At some point, she had to have gotten together with Ron Howard, Henry Winkler and Randolph Roberts in front of the Happy Days house to take a moment to remember Erin as Joanie!!!
Never got to see much of "Wings" because my schedule was so irregular by then but my colleagues and I thought it was an interesting coincidence that the we were flying Cessna 402C's in airline service, the same plane featured in the opening credits of the show. Thanks Dave!
Crystal Bernard is a really good actress that I remember from "It's A Living" and "Wings". I actually didn't watch "Wings" when it was in primetime. I bought the box set a few years ago and was pleasantly surprised to find it to be rather humorous. Crystal Bernard was in the TV movie "Chasing Sercrets" and was absolutely phenomenal. She truly showcased her diversity with that role.
When I was a teenager , Crystal was pretty much the only reason that I watched "Wings. " Very pretty lady, with that sassy attitude and great smile. Another winner Dave, you're batting .1000 my man! I live in the 3rd largest city in WV , but to the rest of the country it's not that big. I'm moving to a very small town. The house that I hope to rent is only a block away from the Monongahela National Forest. So, I'm definitely looking forward to the move. There are less than 2 million permanent residents in WV and at least 4 million firearms. That's why there's no trouble here. Most citizens, including myself are armed and the criminals know this. Not sure if you mentioned it but she did a movie in 08 I believe. Before going to the airlines I flew corporate. So I would fly clients up there, sometimes flying into Nantucket Memorial Airport and then Martha's Vineyard. They had the lifesize Roy Biggins campaign poster, the Tomt Nevers sign. There 's a park there named after him. I think he was a Naval Hero, take that with a lot of salt and I apologize if I'm wrong, i excel in the wrong department. The restaurant that they would frequent after work is real, you can eat there and of course I can't recall the name. It was funny seeing different items from the show there. Cape Air is the little commuter operation there, they have the plane fron the show and as far as I know it's still flying. I think they own every C402 ever made. I remember the first time I met and spoke with an individual from the show and what a bummer he was the exact opposite of his character. That's a compliment to his ability.

Melinda Warren I t was my show too, watched it a living from the beginning and used to watch the rest late in syndication. I was in grade school, when the showed, I was in college. Wow. Great show.❤💎
I went to the same high school as Crystal, but I did not know her personally as I was not in her circle of friends. When I did see her, she always seemed very driven to make it in the entertainment industry, and she did, and kudos to her, because so few make it by comparison. The entertainment industry is a grueling business, and I just always had assumed that she achieved many of her goals and stepped out of the spotlight early to enjoy the fruits of her labor while she was still young, and good for her. Knowing what little I did of her, she earned it.
Making a TV series involves going into work around 5 am and ending 10-11 pm five days a week. Not an easy life. You do get good pay but don’t get to enjoy the money you make except during the 2-3 month shooting break between seasons, so you truly have to be committed. The lady on NCIS who got killed off in season two actually quit because she couldn’t handle the hours.
Boy howdy, I had a crush on Crystal Bernard. I do remember her on Happy Days as KC, but it was Wings that brought her to the forefront for me. I hope she's enjoying her time away from the spotlight and living the good life. Thanks for posting, Dave!

Carlton Blanchard was a funny character that haunted the cast on that show. I forgot his real name but he was funny in Christmass vacation and he played the bar drunk in Mel Brooks the Producers.
@@odudi The actors name was William Hickey. He was a veteran character actor with stage, film and television credits to his name. He passed away in 1997.
I thought that all of the actors and actresses were a perfect mix for that show. It seems rare but it does happen such as the t.v. show MASH. Another fav actress on the show was Rebecca Schull. I always thought her timing, acting, and lines were perfect and she always made me laugh. She had a way of talking that made everything she said very funny.
Footnote, both Rebecca Schull and Marion Ross appeared, together in Chasing Life, alongside Ed Asner and Steven Weber in the episode, "Locks of Love". Imagine, Faye, Mrs. C, Lou Grant and Brian Hackett in the same program. Of course, Marion was Crystal's aunt on Happy Days!!!
I know this video is about Crystal Bernard, but I'm gonna have to disagree with your statement about Ted McGinley being added to shows "that have seen better days". Now I CAN agree that Happy Days was pretty much running on fumes by the time Ted came along. But Married with Children ran 11 seasons. 7 of those seasons were with Ted. No disrespect to Steve Rhoades, but the show IMO actually started to see better days BECAUSE of the addition of Jefferson D'Arcy. Great video, though. Maybe you should do a video on whatever happened to David Garrison and Ted McGinley.
I agree while Steve was good and I liked him and his dynamics with Al and Marcy Ted McGinley as Jefferson was pure gold and couldn't have been better chosen for the part. He was the perfect best friend for Al and loved his being Marcy's Peggy lol.
I had and still have such a crush on her. I watched "It's a Living" and remember her well. I was a blink and you'll miss me background extra in the made for TV movie, "Dying to be Perfect: The Ellen Hart Pena Story" which filmed in Denver. In between takes Ms. Bernard was holding a red and white umbrella to shade herself from the sun, which was behind her, thus illuminating the umbrella very nicely while highlighting her. If I ever meet her, I plan on asking her to autograph this picture. TBH, I've only ever heard one of her songs but can't remember the title. After watching this video I'll be giving her a listen.

I discovered "Wings" out of boredom but have to admit the show had some colorful characters. Crystal Bernard played a convincing stuck-up biatch in the TV movie "High School USA" with Michael J. Fox. Nice to learn in real life she was a good girl 👍😁. I found that music CD recently at the Goodwill.

I remember that duet with Peter Cetera back in the mid 90s, very catchy. As for Wings, I loved that sitcom through the early 90s, and together with Northern Exposure (had a huge crush on Janine Turner at the time) they were my go to shows of the period. I just loved the atmosphere in both of them. Apart from the great writing and performances (in the first few seasons of Wings anyway, NE was great until Rob Morrow left, lost its soul a bit there after) there was that romanticized look at New England and Alaska. At the time I wanted to go live in those places as a result...metaphorically 🙂

I had the pleasure of seeing Crystal Bernard play Annie Oakley in "Annie Get Your Gun" on Broadway in August 2001. She was starring opposite Tom Wopat ("Dukes of Hazzard") who played Frank Butler. They were both terrific.

I loved Wing's, it's right up there in my top 10 favorites. I didn't watch Happy Days after the majority of the original cast left. Never watched made for TV movies too much. I'm glad to hear she was still working after Wing's. BTW I'm sure you have been told this many times, you have a fantastic voice. Thanks for posting this. I really enjoyed watching it.

I loved her on Wings and really enjoyed her duet with Peter Cetera. You didn’t mention her involvement in the Theatre. I also surprisingly got to see her on Broadway in the revival of Annie Get Your Gun where she had replaced Reba McIntyre I believe(Bernadette Peters had originated the role in that revival). Tom Wopat was still the leading man opposite her (which also surprised me as I didn’t know that my favorite Duke from my youth could sing).

I wouldn't say he made it better. Just different. He was very funny on it, no question. David Garrison as Steve was also very funny. They both brought a different dimension to the show, for sure.

Yeah it's a living was a great show. One of the best sitcoms of the 80s. Took place in a restaurant on the top floor of the bonaventure hotel in LA. Used to watch it all the time as a kid growing up in the 80s. I'm 42 now. There were things that were said and things that went on in that show that you couldn't get away with nowadays even if you tried. 😆😆😆😆 just ordered it on DVD the other day and it's very hard to find!

The shows rating were low however during summer reruns Jennifer Slept here's ratings had improved and NBC thought of renewing it for a second season but it never happened plus she was asked to return to It's A Living for a third season as the reruns we doing well in the ratings!! 💁❤🙌

Crystal Bernard was a total babe! Sweet personality and a really good actress. She was what I called the prototypical wife! I had such a huge crush on her since Happy Days!

She still is, although she's now in her late 50's- BTW, three years ago, Crystal mourned the passing of her Happy Days co-star, Erin Moran. Crystal had to have been devastated, when Erin passed away. At some point, she had to have gotten together with Ron Howard, Henry Winkler and Randolph Roberts in front of the Happy Days house to take a moment to remember Erin as Joanie!!!
Never got to see much of "Wings" because my schedule was so irregular by then but my colleagues and I thought it was an interesting coincidence that the we were flying Cessna 402C's in airline service, the same plane featured in the opening credits of the show. Thanks Dave!

Crystal Bernard is a really good actress that I remember from "It's A Living" and "Wings". I actually didn't watch "Wings" when it was in primetime. I bought the box set a few years ago and was pleasantly surprised to find it to be rather humorous. Crystal Bernard was in the TV movie "Chasing Sercrets" and was absolutely phenomenal. She truly showcased her diversity with that role.

I live in the 3rd largest city in WV , but to the rest of the country it's not that big. I'm moving to a very small town. The house that I hope to rent is only a block away from the Monongahela National Forest. So, I'm definitely looking forward to the move. There are less than 2 million permanent residents in WV and at least 4 million firearms. That's why there's no trouble here. Most citizens, including myself are armed and the criminals know this. Batman was correct when he said , " Criminals are a cowardly, superstitious lot!"

Not sure if you mentioned it but she did a movie in 08 I believe. Before going to the airlines I flew corporate. So I would fly clients up there, sometimes flying into Nantucket Memorial Airport and then Martha's Vineyard. They had the lifesize Roy Biggins campaign poster, the Tomt Nevers sign. There 's a park there named after him. I think he was a Naval Hero, take that with a lot of salt and I apologize if I'm wrong, i excel in the wrong department. The restaurant that they would frequent after work is real, you can eat there and of course I can't recall the name. It was funny seeing different items from the show there. Cape Air is the little commuter operation there, they have the plane fron the show and as far as I know it's still flying. I think they own every C402 ever made. I remember the first time I met and spoke with an individual from the show and what a bummer he was the exact opposite of his character. That's a compliment to his ability.
Ted McGinley is an underrated actor. He killed it as Jefferson from MWC
And...he has a real self-deprecating sense of humor. He is a real cool guy.

I went to the same high school as Crystal, but I did not know her personally as I was not in her circle of friends. When I did see her, she always seemed very driven to make it in the entertainment industry, and she did, and kudos to her, because so few make it by comparison. The entertainment industry is a grueling business, and I just always had assumed that she achieved many of her goals and stepped out of the spotlight early to enjoy the fruits of her labor while she was still young, and good for her. Knowing what little I did of her, she earned it.

Making a TV series involves going into work around 5 am and ending 10-11 pm five days a week. Not an easy life. You do get good pay but don’t get to enjoy the money you make except during the 2-3 month shooting break between seasons, so you truly have to be committed. The lady on NCIS who got killed off in season two actually quit because she couldn’t handle the hours.

Carlton Blanchard was a funny character that haunted the cast on that show. I forgot his real name but he was funny in Christmass vacation and he played the bar drunk in Mel Brooks the Producers.

She was one of my most favorite TV stars of all time she was adorable and sexy she made a pair of blue jeans look fantastic......
I thought that all of the actors and actresses were a perfect mix for that show. It seems rare but it does happen such as the t.v. show MASH. Another fav actress on the show was Rebecca Schull. I always thought her timing, acting, and lines were perfect and she always made me laugh. She had a way of talking that made everything she said very funny.
Same thing with Night Court, The Steve Harvey Show, Seinfeld, Cheers, Newsradio etc. Casts vastly different yet chemically perfect.
Footnote, both Rebecca Schull and Marion Ross appeared, together in Chasing Life, alongside Ed Asner and Steven Weber in the episode, "Locks of Love". Imagine, Faye, Mrs. C, Lou Grant and Brian Hackett in the same program. Of course, Marion was Crystal's aunt on Happy Days!!!

I know this video is about Crystal Bernard, but I'm gonna have to disagree with your statement about Ted McGinley being added to shows "that have seen better days". Now I CAN agree that Happy Days was pretty much running on fumes by the time Ted came along. But Married with Children ran 11 seasons. 7 of those seasons were with Ted. No disrespect to Steve Rhoades, but the show IMO actually started to see better days BECAUSE of the addition of Jefferson D'Arcy. Great video, though. Maybe you should do a video on whatever happened to David Garrison and Ted McGinley.

I had and still have such a crush on her. I watched "It's a Living" and remember her well. I was a blink and you'll miss me background extra in the made for TV movie, "Dying to be Perfect: The Ellen Hart Pena Story" which filmed in Denver. In between takes Ms. Bernard was holding a red and white umbrella to shade herself from the sun, which was behind her, thus illuminating the umbrella very nicely while highlighting her. If I ever meet her, I plan on asking her to autograph this picture. TBH, I've only ever heard one of her songs but can't remember the title. After watching this video I'll be giving her a listen.
