I have been re-watching Wings on DVD, and I just miss this show so much. I wish there will be a reunion of the show...even if it were just a few episodes. Too bad they don't make comedy shows like Wings anymore.
I was always fond of her; thought she deserved more. Also thought Wings deserved as much notoriety as other big NBC sitcoms. Thanks for reminding of her.
@@jdsundstrom Gotta disagree with you Dave, Mary Ann was in a class by herself. One show, three seasons and 40+ years later when you say her name, everyone thinks Gillligan's island. They won't be saying that about Crystal, ever. If you say KC, they'll think Sunshine band.😎

She's definitely one of my top Hollywood crushes. The most clean cut girl-next-door person to come out of Hollywood in recent times (I know, it has been decades for her now, but I'm not wrong).
As a former airline employee, Wings was one of my favorite sitcoms. It's run on television pretty much coincided with how long I worked in that sector. Those were the best of times!

I went to the same high school as Crystal, but I did not know her personally as I was not in her circle of friends. When I did see her, she always seemed very driven to make it in the entertainment industry, and she did, and kudos to her, because so few make it by comparison. The entertainment industry is a grueling business, and I just always had assumed that she achieved many of her goals and stepped out of the spotlight early to enjoy the fruits of her labor while she was still young, and good for her. Knowing what little I did of her, she earned it.
Making a TV series involves going into work around 5 am and ending 10-11 pm five days a week. Not an easy life. You do get good pay but don’t get to enjoy the money you make except during the 2-3 month shooting break between seasons, so you truly have to be committed. @@jdsundstrom I know, right? Remember on MWC when those kids were following him around wanting his autograph and he says, "look, I'm NOT that guy from Happy Days, okay!" No one could have done Jefferson Darcey better!
@@thevisionary2007 Oh my gawd . . . Yes!! I was just thinking about the "Married With Children" episode and see you posted about it. The Bundy's and the D'Arcy's went to a TV-themed amusement park and that's where the scene was setup. I really liked it because I started associating Ted McGinley with the "Jefferson" character and nearly forgot about his stint on the latter seasons of "Happy Days". Nearly as good as the finale to "Newhart"!
Amazing research, well done! I met Crystal in the late 90's. My friends and I were having lunch at Havasu Landing after some jet ski rides. She was there with friends enjoying some fun in the sun. I shook her hand and stated that I loved the show Wings. Later I was told that Lake Havasu was a secret hang out for her. She isn't the only one that finds this oasis in the desert a secret hang out.

Man, I sure miss WIngs. I forget but was it connected in some way to Cheers? ANyway it had the same brand of humor and Crystal added a lot of sass to WIngs.
Thank you so much for this. LOVE Crystal Bernard. So very talented. I was surprised that in your list of her accomplishments you did not list that in 2001 she starred in Annie Get Your Gun on broadway. I think she took over for Reba McIntyre . She also did the national tour. I miss seeing her perform.
I must respectfully disagree with you in regards to Ted McKinley, he came into Married with Children about halfway through its run and the show only got better with him being added to the cast. Jefferson was far funnier than Steve ever was.
@@jdsundstrom , I liked Ted McKinley on Happy Days , Love Boat and Married with Children. he was also in a Revenge of the Nerds movie. I think the first one.... it's been so long since I saw the movie I'm not sure which of the Nerds movie he was in.

Ted has his moments in the show and he did well with what the writers were giving him at that time in the show's run but David Garrison had the benefit of being there when the show was at it's funniest before the well started running dry. A lot of the chemistry had to do with the way Ed O'Neill played Al in the early seasons. His character became more over the top and cartoonish as time went by. @@jdsundstrom

4:42 before anyone asked what happened to Esai Morales .. he was on nypd blue for a while and currently he is in the tv series TITANS as they legendary DC "Deathstroke".
I wouldn't say he made it better. Just different. He was very funny on it, no question. David Garrison as Steve was also very funny. They both brought a different dimension to the show, for sure.
I remember that duet with Peter Cetera back in the mid 90s, very catchy. As for Wings, I loved that sitcom through the early 90s, and together with Northern Exposure (had a huge crush on Janine Turner at the time) they were my go to shows of the period. I just loved the atmosphere in both of them. Apart from the great writing and performances (in the first few seasons of Wings anyway, NE was great until Rob Morrow left, lost its soul a bit there after) there was that romanticized look at New England and Alaska. At the time I wanted to go live in those places as a result...metaphorically 🙂
I had the pleasure of seeing Crystal Bernard play Annie Oakley in "Annie Get Your Gun" on Broadway in August 2001. She was starring opposite Tom Wopat ("Dukes of Hazzard") who played Frank Butler. They were both terrific.
I loved her on Wings and really enjoyed her duet with Peter Cetera. You didn’t mention her involvement in the Theatre. I also surprisingly got to see her on Broadway in the revival of Annie Get Your Gun where she had replaced Reba McIntyre I believe(Bernadette Peters had originated the role in that revival). Tom Wopat was still the leading man opposite her (which also surprised me as I didn’t know that my favorite Duke from my youth could sing).
I must say love your channel and the music. I was a big fan of Crystal Bernard every since Wings(love the cast too) You are doing a great job in bringing us a lot of memories keep up the good work.
I also loved Wings and wondered what Crystal Benard was up to. I would guess she has a family and living happily out of the spotlight. I do watch Wings on HULU still is a great show.
Crystal Bernard is a really good actress that I remember from "It's A Living" and "Wings". I actually didn't watch "Wings" when it was in primetime. I bought the box set a few years ago and was pleasantly surprised to find it to be rather humorous. Crystal Bernard was in the TV movie "Chasing Sercrets" and was absolutely phenomenal. She truly showcased her diversity with that role.
I was really young when Happy Days went off the air but I almost forgot she was on that show loved her on wings I still think Wings holds up well overtime can’t believe it’s been off the air since 97 I believe I would like to think she managed her money well and just got tired of the spotlight but she brought me a lot of joy when I was a kid Thank You for this video
That’s not fair. Ted McGinley was on Happy Days for 4 years and on Married with Children for 6 years. If he was such a ‘show killer,’ he didn’t do a very good job, because he was on those shows for YEARS.
Loved her on Wings! :-D Always thought she had such an amazing voice and she seemed so down to earth and relatable. Like you, I hope that she's truly living her best life too! :-)

I had a crush on her from the Happy Days - days through Wings and beyond. The bubbly and fun sexy and cuteness was simply irresistible. Thank you for the video!
Yes Dave. Do one about It's a living. We cracked up everytime the manager walked by the pianist and slammed his fingers by harshly closing the keyboard closure on him!
Her delivery and timing on Wings always reminded me of Debbie Reynolds. And then lo and behold, Debbie ends up on Wings.
Debbie Reynolds is a pretty good comparison, Brian! Totally agree!
Thank you, Dave Sundstrom, for this very nice heart-felt clip on Crystal Bernard. I very much enjoyed WINGS back in the day and Crystal certainly was a VITAL member of the cast. I too hope she's doing well and hope even more that she will grace us with her presence in a new show soon. I'll keep my fingers crossed to that effect. ; - )
She was the only reason I watched Wings. And made a smokin Mrs. Claus! Hopefully she's having an awesome life.
Me too, Ed. 🙂
Never missed an episode of wings because of crystal. Big heartthrob she was had a big Crush on her
I loved Wing's, it's right up there in my top 10 favorites. I didn't watch Happy Days after the majority of the original cast left. Never watched made for TV movies too much. I'm glad to hear she was still working after Wing's. BTW I'm sure you have been told this many times, you have a fantastic voice. Thanks for posting this. I really enjoyed watching it.
I'm glad you enjoyed the video, Brian. And...thanks for the kind words about my voice. 🙂
I wish some of these actors and actresses would come back and do something relevant now. I loved Wings and still watch on streaming.
Ted McGinley is an underrated actor. He killed it as Jefferson from MWC
And...he has a real self-deprecating sense of humor. He is a real cool guy.
@@jdsundstrom I know, right? Remember on MWC when those kids were following him around wanting his autograph and he says, "look, I'm NOT that guy from Happy Days, okay!" No one could have done Jefferson Darcey better!
RT He was also Burt Reynolds best man when Burt married Loni Anderson
He made MWC much better.
Watched it religiously. Loved it, in fact I'm watching it right now on Cable channel.
Great cast , great writing.
It was a great show for sure. Thanks for the comment.
Cool story, DeenLee A! Thanks for sharing.
Crystal Bernard is a goddess, beauty, and all around great figure, nice hair, and an enticing personality. She played a great character on "Wings."
I still watch Wings on Hulu. And I have been in love with her for thirty years.
Love your channel! Love your happy & kind voice as you respectfully speak over these celebrities lives! ❤️
Favorite part of the series: "Lowell: Captain Jazzbo? You've murdered Captain Jazzbo!!!"
She is adorable and did entertain us well... I loved her so much on wings.. really a total crush!!! Lol she’s beautiful inside and out, I def pray she is loving a wonderful life!! Great vid. Thanks
I'm glad you enjoyed the video, Jay Jay!
Thanks Dave. I had asked for this and you delivered!
You're most welcome, my friend.
I definitely remember Wings. Wow! Dave, I never pinned you for being a fan of classic slasher films, as I am! Was awesome to hear you talk about the Slumber Party Massacre films!
State of Mind is one of my favorite songs ever and I also watched Happy Days all the way to the end and never tired of it.
I was a big fan of hers back in the 80’s. Loved Its a Living and Wings (I drooled over the Hackett brothers). Crystal is a great talent so I hope she is well and happy wherever she is 🙏🏼🎄🙏🏼 thank you for making this video!
I always loved her. She was on an episode of MTV's Cribs. I think she had a grandfather who was a very good actor also. Thanks for this video.
I haven't seen that episode. I'll have to track it down. I'm glad you enjoyed the video, Blackwood 5225.
I remember her from happy days and I really noticed how attractive she was on it's a living. She is a very talented and attractive woman...
She is a beautiful lady. Like yourself, I hope she is doing well and enjoying life to the fullest. Thanks for sharing!
Youre very welcome, Randy!
she was so hot. She had that girl next door smoking hot look. Can't understand why she didnt get cast much more often. Too bad, she was beautiful.
I enjoyed her music as well as her acting. She always seemed so bubbly and sweet.
I'm glad you enjoyed the video, Silas. 🙂
I enjoy seeing what happened to various actors/actresses. I loved Wings…..it was a great show with great actors!
Steaming on Hulu !
Crystal was one of my favorite actresses from IT'S A LIVING and HAPPY DAYS
Being a musician I was always hoping she’d make it playing cello! I didn’t know she is a singer. God bless you little lady!
I must respectfully disagree with you in regards to Ted McKinley, he came into Married with Children about halfway through its run and the show only got better with him being added to the cast. Jefferson was far funnier than Steve ever was.
I think that is a fair argument to make, Rob...and I respect your point of view. I must admit I really enjoyed Ted in that role as well.
@@jdsundstrom , I liked Ted McKinley on Happy Days , Love Boat and Married with Children. he was also in a Revenge of the Nerds movie. I think the first one.... it's been so long since I saw the movie I'm not sure which of the Nerds movie he was in.
@@jdsundstrom I just want to say I'm in total agreement with you when it comes to Crystal Bernard. I love all of her work. She's wonderful. Great video, keep up the good work.
@@FLATBUSHPLAY Ditto about Al...happens to most shows!
She is super cute little thing ‼️She was 🔥 firey chick she didn’t let any guys push her around she is another who could hold her own and give them a run for there money ‼️Im glad she’s ok. Hopefully ‼️Thanks Dave for the walk down memory lane‼️Thanks for sharing ‼️🥳🎊🎉🎈
Thanks for the kind words, Thelma! I feel like I came up a little empty handed on this one. That said, it was still a fun video to put together.
Dave Sundstrom Well you are a pretty great reporter. I think if you can’t find anything more it just isn’t there to find‼️Thanks for all the work putting it together ‼️You and your family have a great one‼️👍👏
I used to watch wings all the time because of crystal bernard huge crush on her and Farrah forke who played the pilot.
4:42 before anyone asked what happened to Esai Morales .. he was on nypd blue for a while and currently he is in the tv series TITANS as they legendary DC "Deathstroke".
Ted McGinley actually made "Married with Children" better and it lasted another 6 years.
Lots of info on Ted in this video: ua-cam.com/video/vB48vRVi9L4/v-deo.html
I wouldn't say he made it better. Just different. He was very funny on it, no question. David Garrison as Steve was also very funny. They both brought a different dimension to the show, for sure.
She made a movie my son was a boom boom operator on it.She was very sweet to him.He really liked working with her.he said she was really kind.
I really enjoyed Northern Exposure as well, David!
@David Datura I believe she had a hit single called : "Don't Touch Me There, Or There...And Especially Not There"! 😊
I remember It's A Living, we watched it every week! I was in love with her!! Crystal Bernard is the reason I got in to Wings!
Yeah love the theme music of It's a living.
I had the pleasure of seeing Crystal Bernard play Annie Oakley in "Annie Get Your Gun" on Broadway in August 2001. She was starring opposite Tom Wopat ("Dukes of Hazzard") who played Frank Butler. They were both terrific.
I loved Wings. And I'm glad to see a video about Crystal Bernard.
Thanks for sharing, Chris K!
I must say love your channel and the music. I was a big fan of Crystal Bernard every since Wings(love the cast too) You are doing a great job in bringing us a lot of memories keep up the good work.
Thanks for the kind words, Max. They truly mean a lot to me.
You're welcome, Michael. And I agree...Wings totally holds up!
That’s not fair. Ted McGinley was on Happy Days for 4 years and on Married with Children for 6 years. If he was such a ‘show killer,’ he didn’t do a very good job, because he was on those shows for YEARS.
He was good in Married With Children, Jefferson Darcy. 😂
Loved her on Wings! :-D Always thought she had such an amazing voice and she seemed so down to earth and relatable. Like you, I hope that she's truly living her best life too! :-)
When I was a teenager , Crystal was pretty much the only reason that I watched "Wings. " Very pretty lady, with that sassy attitude and great smile. Another winner Dave, you're batting .1000 my man! Blessings and Brotherly Love from Almost Heaven, West Virginia!!! 🙏 Oh, that tummy shot at the end.....you're killing me bro!!!!
I'm glad you enjoyed the video, funzjag! I hope all is well in West Virginia. 🙂
@@jdsundstrom Thanks Dave! I've yet to watch a Dave Sundstrom video that I didn't enjoy. Things are good in the Mountain State! I'm relocating to a smaller town soon. I live in the 3rd largest city in WV , but to the rest of the country it's not that big. I'm moving to a very small town. The house that I hope to rent is only a block away from the Monongahela National Forest. So, I'm definitely looking forward to the move. There are less than 2 million permanent residents in WV and at least 4 million firearms. That's why there's no trouble here. Most citizens, including myself are armed and the criminals know this. Batman was correct when he said , " Criminals are a cowardly, superstitious lot!"
Batman is seldom wrong!
Almost Heaven! Love that Song! John Denver! 👍. I know Country Roads,.😂.
Oh man! I had such a BIG crush on Crystal Bernard. Now I'll have to dig out the dvd collection and watch them all this weekend.
I always loved her! She's absolutely beautiful! One of my favorite actresses from the 90's!
She was one of my most favorite TV stars of all time she was adorable and sexy she made a pair of blue jeans look fantastic......
This was one of the funniest shows in the 90s!
Helen: You know, I just love working here at the Ritz. Rubbing shoulders with the cream of society. Having conversations made up of one-syllable words.
Lowell: Good soup. Hot.
This is the moment I started to watch and like the show.
She got to do and excel in 📺 , 🎶 , 🎥 & plays. A multi talented artist. A 🌟
🍷Oh.. my...my... my...my...my...my.!!! Helen Chapel was the cutest blonde on early 90's TV!! Crystal Bernard was, and still is, such a lovely and very funny lady! Great stuff Dave! Thanks for posting another wonderful piece. BTW, totally agree with you 100% on The Dark Knight! 👍🏻 Take care!
Youre most welcome, TNWG!
I think Christina Applegate is in the number 1 spot of cute blonde with Crystal right behind ;)
@@kendallrivers1119 OMG! Kendall, I totally forgot the amazing Kelly Bundy! Miss Applegate is a phenom!
