    I paid $40 for a medium 7’ Okuma spinning combo. I use it 25 days a month. After 2 years, I have no complaints. Well done!

      Save your money and get an Andros! I've been a shimano guy for years. I have trinidads and calcuttas but just could'nt see myself paying so much money for the Talicas and I got the 1st gen andros and it was great and 2nd Gen was even better. For the money you can't beat them honestly. I hope they keep the name, why change it, short and easy to pronounce...

    What’s the difference between the 12 narrow and the 5 2speed spec wise they seem to have the same spool capacity ?

    My problem with this reel is the poor speed changer button. I have an Okuma 5-iiLX 2-speed. I have only used it thrice and caught some nice size fish with it. But last week, when I am about to go to sea for a jigging trip, the button retaining ring was misplaced and the button changer stayed on low speed. The small lever to shift it back to high speed is stuck. Now I am having second thoughts about this reel. Do you have any idea on how I can fix this? I am in the Philippines too far from any Okuma service center. the reel was bought last December 2020.

    I just acquired cavalla 5N-11 yesterday and I'm planning to use PE 2.5 braid line. How long do you think can it load?

      Nothing current for sure. The Polar Bear would lead to believe that it could have been ours. Just a really old reel.

    Hello, I am a young fisherman who hopes to be a pro staffer eventually. I am in a tight spot financially for rods and reels, and want to know what you recommend based on quality and price. I have a friend who is a full staffer. Just wanted to know how to get where he is.

      Keep fishing, start a podcast about fishing, start a youtube channel about fishing, and show that you have enough people following you to warrant them to make you a staffer. Just typing comments on youtube wont get you there. Its a full time dedication to fishing that will get you noticed.
      That or be a hot chick in a bikini catching 1 fish a month.

      Don't beg, but develop content that promotes your sponsors. Then you become a cheap marketing expense.

      This isn't an Andros replacement. This is a replacement for the Metaloid.

      Okuma Fishing Tackle USA Ah ok I had heard it was replacing the Andros name. Glad to hear I have 2 and love them stopped using my Trinidad’s due to the ability to use Andros for so many kinds of fishing and the small size

    What is the difference with these and the Andros series?

    • @DaveysWorldFishing
      @DaveysWorldFishing 5 років тому

      Andros had 6 ball bearings, this has 4. Andros has external cast control. Andros has Helical Cut gearing, this is spur cut.

      This is Okumas New budget reel replacing METALOID which I think Outsold by Penn FATHOM....For ANDROS I think they will come up with a New one. Its Great but Absence of a THRUST BEARING then it cannot compete with Penn TORQUE....Anglers Now are More Educated on reels, thanks to Social Media.😉

  • @johnsmith-xd9ej
    @johnsmith-xd9ej 4 роки тому +1

    If you guyz just have incorporated a THRUST BEARING on these Budget Reel then you will not be Discontinuing Old Reels and launching New Value Reel every 5-6 years!

    More garbage from Okuma like their Andros line. The worse reels I have ever used or bought. All three have various problems and unreliable.
