- Luke Smith and his mate Carter are out chasing a few snapper deep on slow jigs, armed with TT SLO JIG R jigging rods and Okuma Cavalla lever drag overhead reels. When it comes to slow jigging it's all about having the right gear for the job. Fish on!

what lbs drag you set strike position 5nii
G’day mate, I couldn’t tell you exactly as this is all done by feel. On the slowjigR rods I usually set the drag so the line is borderline touching the blank when loaded up. This may be around 12lbs at a guess for the yellow and 15lbs for the orange.
I don’t mind having it a bit tighter for initial hook penetration, then backing off a touch for the fight.
This is made super easy with the cavella having a lever drag.
