If you're planning a trip to Thailand, this is a must-watch before your holiday. We've got insider knowledge to help you stay out of danger and ensure a safe and memorable trip. We travel with our two year old daughter Mia (the little sunshine) and her (and our) safety always comes first. In our opinion Thailand is a safe place to travel with a toddler. But still, there are some dangers that we need to know about. So we hope this helps in making your trip even more safe.
In this video, we point out commission shops and gem stores notorious for selling fake gems. Spot these scams and protect your hard-earned money. We also uncover the money changer scam where they slip away a few notes, leaving you with less money. Hopefully our tips will help you avoid falling victim to these tricks.
Worried about food poisoning? We've got you covered! Discover valuable tips to safely indulge in Thailand's mouthwatering cuisine, especially when it comes to enjoying delicious street food and exploring bustling night markets. We eat at food stalls all the time. We'll show you how to navigate these culinary delights without compromising your health and getting ill. Because the last thing you want is to get sick and spend your holiday on the toilet.
Driving a motorbike or a car in Thailand? Beware of the fines for not having an international driver's license. Many people rent motorbikes and the police are checking more and more. We shed light on this aspect and also take a look at the hectic and dangerous traffic situation. Plus, as a bonus, we share important information for the more "relaxed" traveller. If this is your thing, our tip is to always check out the latest rules and regulations.

Hi, thanks for the really helpful content, just subscribed. I'm planning my second trip to Thailand, and this is just what I need for safer and happier travels.
Thanks, happy to be helpful :) Happy planning and when you're there: enjoy the beautiful country to the fullest while keeping safe!

The best way to avoid food poisoning in Thailand is to mainly eat stir fry dishes. The high heat used in stir fry usually kills any bacteria present in the food. I recommend avoiding uncooked or raw dishes (like sushi) with the street venders. Even fruit can be a problem, so be careful when ordering smoothies or cut fruits. Best to go slow with new foods, eat lightly at first and see how you react. If you like a particular vender and did not get ill, stick with that vender.
Those are great tips. We totally agree. Thanks a lot! 🙏
Yup I did exactly that and also checked google reviews in Bangkok and Pattaya
I got stopped (and fined) by the police twice in one day in Chiang Mai. I had driving license with me but didn't have an international one. I paid around $25. When I got stopped for the second time I didn't have to pay when I showed the ticket.
That's too bad! But good that you didn't have to pay twice 😅
Only $20 at a aaa to get your international drivers license too, I just got mine they are good for 1 year.
I have been travelling to Thailand now for 12 years. Not once had food poisoning. And I been eating at all those places you talked about. Also find Thailand very very safe to travel in.
Good to hear! 😊👍🏻
Thanks for the update
Also when renting a motorbike or a car, take a video of the damage it has. To prevent any misunderstandings when you return it later on.
Definitely, good tip! 👍🏻
I've heard a couple of stories of bikes being "stolen" by the rentalshop, but if it's true or not remains unknown, but buy a lock in another store, problem solved, often people just forget their brains back home 😅 the pictures of the bike is a must in any country 😊
Thanks for the tip!
Good tips! We'll keep this in mind for the next time we visit Thailand! Keep up the good work 😊

Yeah, i do have a tip, remeber you're a tourist, a guest in q country that values humbleness and tale note of the local people, how they behave and just have a good time, bring your brain and behave accordingly, just think, what would my mom think of this behaviour im showing, pretty straightforward, tale metered taxis, install grab app, it will be a life saver anywhere you are, it might not be the very cheapest way to get around, but it is privately owned cars that are tip top and aircondition works, you'll know the price befire you go, no hassle and they are quick to arrive anywhere, you can order food from wherever you are or simoly find a place to eat and go there, hmmm what else, yeah, smile gosh dang it, it's medicine for your soul, learn to wai, the proper greeting here and learn to say thank you, you'll be amazed, Thailand is the best of everything in this world 🙏 have fun, be nice, smile, live, love and laugh 🙏🥳🥰🇹🇭🥰🥳🙏
Wow thanks so much! Those are great tips 👌🏻 and keep smiling indeed 😄
Yes, I had tuk tuk driver take me on small tour , he stopped at 2 different stores and asked me to go inside and see merchandise , I told him in advance I'm not buying anything, he still asked me to just look, so irritating.
That sounds familiar! 🫣
What to pack ( Uk traveller ), and what to buy whilst there. I hear there are some great bargains within footwear/clothing and electronics.
Definitely pack sunscreen, after sun care, and anything related to that department. It's quiet expensive there.
There are some great bargains for clothing/footwear with local brands at markets/shops. But the price for international brands is the same (if not more expensive due to tax).
I lived there for 2 years and only got sick from water.
Thanks for your comment - We hope it wasn't too bad!
When I travel to Asia I don't eat street food 🍲 for 3 days so my body has a bit of time to adjust to the local conditions. And a cocktail 🍹 of booze and weed could leave you a bit vulnerable to scams a easy target 🎯 😂 !
Good point! 😄
Why are people in Thailand still wearing masks in July 2023???
Many people wear them because of pollution as well.
It's safer to wear mask and condom here in the kingdom.😷🥳
Thanks for the valuable information. I plan on going to Thailand very soon.
Thanks for commenting, you're welcome! Have a good time 👍🏻
