  • I ride the same trail for probably 90% - 95% of my riding. Do I get bored of it? Not at all! Actually, it's quite the contrary. I love my trail. Here are a few reasons why.

Had Double Knee Replacements 10 weeks ago and 3 days.... Today, I road my Recumbent for the 1st time. Dave, you inspired me.to try today and.... I succeed. I went for 20 miles but came in at the 13 mile mark and ended with 15. Knee caps got tender so I headed in a few miles early.
    Tomorrow is another day.
    Thank you for inspiring 🙏
    God Bless You David.

David, nice video and it should show us all to appreciate all the nice things in our lives. I often complain about the almost 3 miles and 9 road crossings it takes to get to your/my trail but the fact is that I’m darn lucky to be able to ride to the trail at all!! Most people aren’t nearly as lucky to ride to a well maintained and connected trail that has such a wide range of forested, prairies with really nice River environments! Plus all this is accessible to any of us for the price of taking the time to walk or ride to it and through it!! I’m grateful!!!

    • @DavidRidesaTrike

Hi Steve. Yes, my ride is really an easy one to get to the trail and I know yours is a lot more congested to get here. But maybe that will make you appreciate even more the tranquility of the trail vs. the chaos of the roads getting to it.

I wanted to take a moment to say thank you David. I moved to Germany ~2 years ago and my wife and I got bicycles I was over 320 lbs and with my injuries, my depression and all of the hills, I was struggling. I got an E-bike and have been doing great. You have been a big inspiration for me and I wanted to show that appreciation. I am now 260 lbs and next week my E-trike should be ready for pickup. I have gone from having mobility issues to 122 km E-bike rides in ~9 months. Hopefully I will get a chance to be in your area and go on a trike ride with you.

What a beautiful trail, David! It reminds me a lot of the trail I ride on called the Western Maryland Rail Trail which is also mostly wooded. I also get lost in the beauty and serenity of "my trail" too! Thank you for sharing!

    Hi David
Your Multi use trail is flat out gorgeous.
One additional reason to add to your list:
    7. The trail looks flat as a pancake. Rh at least pretty close. Which is a great benefit to people on Trikes that are challenged by uphill grades.
Since many of us have graduated to electric assist the point becomes mostly mute.
Still, for the benefit of those still peddling hard flat ground is always welcome.

    G'day David...
Such a great, relaxed share of your trail, David. A thousand rides along this path wouldn't lessen the recurring pleasure of the ' ambience ' of this ....
I feel the same about my lake edge path. Some say " you've done that, look elsewhere ! "........ They just aren't on the ' wavelength '.... and even more so from the perspective of riding a trike.
Thanks for sharing again, David. I'll ride along with you even some more times, later...... It IS the common wavelength, no doubt at all. There are still a few ' capers to cut, eh ? '

This was an interesting way of recording. I don't mind looking at your mug. I just look over your shoulder to see the scenery. For me, looking at your face is like having a chat with an old friend vs having more of a travelog/lecture experience just viewing the trail. However, if you do get some good color in your area this fall, I would like to see it recorded as you did in this video. I looked up the map of the trail you ride and it looks like a great trail. in fact, there looks to be a lot of trails in your neck of the woods that would be fun to explore. Thanks for sharing my friend!!

Very glad to see you ride your trike on the road. Most of the trike videos I find are on trails which frankly is quite disappointing. I don't want to have to limit my options if I ride a trike.

It's a beautiful trail. The bike path here that I ride (when I ride recreationally) is only 100 metres from my house but it's not nearly as beautiful as your trail. You're very lucky.

Yes, I know I'm quite fortunate to have this trail so close. When we first moved here the trail wasn't complete and I had to drive a few miles north to get on the trail and even so, there were segments "missing." Luckily now that I don't drive the trail is complete so I can just hop on as you saw and go. It is truly a luxury.

The trail you ride is so very scenic. I also love the water view, small bridges, and greenery.
I think I'm going through "Trike Withdrawal" since my heart attack. My heart ablation will be done tomorrow (09/27/22) morning. My wife and I have to be at the hospital by 6:00 a.m. I always like being the first procedure of the day since I'm a diabetic. I'm hoping for a quick recovery.
    Keep on Triking!

I entered the hospital and was prepped for the procedure. They did a TEE before they entered into the heart ablation procedure. The TEE showed that I still had the blood clot in my heart (Since the last TEE in May, 2022) Therefore, the heart ablation was not done today. 😢

I'll continue on Xeralto and see if the clot dissolves. As for controlling the Afib - The heart specialist has now put me on Multaq and I'll continue with Metoprolol ER. My next scheduled appointment is on December 8th. I have no physical restrictions... I guess when I get my trike back from it's yearly maintenance checkup, I'll ride! 🙂

David I’m so surprised you don’t have Facebook emergencies! 😂 I prefer to have cell service when I’m riding, mostly for medical reasons. I still find it hard to believe how flat it is there. There are no trails or roads that don’t have some kind of hills. Yes, I’m a little jealous 😊 Thanks for sharing and keep on riding!

lol, yes I can proudly state I've never had a FB emergency! Not yet anyhow. 😁 It's funny, a few others have pointed out a great thing about the trail is how flat it is. To be honest, it's something I just don't think about because everything is fat around here! But it is.a big bonus.

David, I understand what you meant without an explanation. I served 20 plus years in the Military and 11 months in Vietnam and I have been proud to save My Country, I feel I deserve it anyone else that LOVES this Country should say My Country and if you don't like this Country, Please Leave.

Hey David, I think you had your electric motor turned up way too high at the beginning of this ride! You must be going for the title of "Fastest Triker on Planet Earth" 😂 haha
The only thing that could be better regarding the path is if your home backed up to it somewhere ... can you imagine how fantastic that would be? Paths like this are one major upside to living in a large metro area. I have noticed in some of your videos over time that roads are close by to certain areas of the trail, but once in there, it seems like you are miles away from any human chaos.

I have to admit, I did amuse myself with that intro.
As you saw, I'm pretty damn close to the trail so I can't complain.
And I am almost never more than a quarter mile from busy roads but as you point out, you'd never know it from the perspective of being on the trail.

wish I had a trail near me like that. Maybe when I relocate down to GA.
I know you said it's well maintained, do they also keep up the maintenance in the winter? I know a lot of them don't since the traffic tends to drop off sharply when it gets cold out.

    • @DavidRidesaTrike
      @DavidRidesaTrike  2 роки тому

Hi Alan. It is still well maintained in the winter as there are a lot of fat bikes, cross country skiers and snowshoers out there. Sometimes it takes. bit longer but they still take good care of it.
