2 Quotes: Aurora's music is frequently inspired by nature. She told The Sun: "'Running With The Wolves' is about freedom and joining nature again, getting away from phones and radio and all the stuff we keep around us." Aurora wrote the song during the blood moon in 2014. She told The 405: "I just imagined the moon turning all the people around the world into wild animals, running away from all the rules, all the materialism and technology. Just being a part of nature again, running free."
i too am a lifelong metal head, i also first heard Aurora from Wardruna. her voice was so unique i had to look her up, and i listen to her almost everyday now. she is the most unique artist, this is a rabbit hole you will very much enjoy going down.
She is unique. Herself. I do think that the quality of her character shows better in live videos than studio, but the studio versions are also very good. I'm all for more of Aurora.
Yes, AURORA is different, unique, so talented. I think you can much more enjoy her talent in her live performance, she always express the world of song using all of herself and well arranged music. For example Novel Peace Prize, KEXP, Current, Honda stage, HAIK, Nidarosdomen etc. Also she is a very adorable person, you can see many videos on UA-cam about her chat with audience with big laughter or interviews. Welcome to warriors and weirdos.
I hope you will do more of her. She is truly unique, and much like Nightwish, her live stuff is gonna blow you away. I can recommend Murder song 54321 live at Nobel peace prize ceremony or Through the eyes of a child live at Nidarosdomen.
Wikipedia says baroque pop is one of her genres, although that's more fitting for her later stuff. Baroque as a descriptor fits so well. With some of her songs like It Happened Quiet, Soft Universe, All is Soft Inside, Infections of a Different Kind, and Churchyard, all from the same album, I can just picture images like baroque paintings going along with each song, and she often uses choir singing, which just makes you feel like you're in a cathedral. I highly recommend those songs. They're extremely unique for pop music.
Yeah like you said I was almost like oh a nice pop sound, but she does something in her vocals, a twist that grabs your attention. And the way she moves was unique. Be interested in seeing a live song. ❤ and ✌️ everyone!

Over the past 6 years, Aurora has easily become my absolute favorite artist. Her creativity, composition, and lyrics often remind me of Bjork. And even beyond her music, she's an absolute gem of a human being. I don't consider Aurora to be pop music, nor would I consider her a mainstream artist, though. She actually dislikes modern pop music. Not to mention, she actually writes, composes, and choreographs everything she does herself, or with her band. Pop music is usually a large team of writers and producers who work together to create a marketable product. I'd say she falls somewhere on the experimental/folk/electronic spectrum.
@@TheWolffAndTheMelody I'd recommend the song "Under the Water" if you want to see something a bit less "poppy" from her. It actually has some metal influences. Or "In Boxes" for something more soulful. Or for pure magic, I would recommend "Exist for Love", "Through the Eyes of a Child", or "Forgotten Love". It's impossible to pick a bad song or video, but her live performances are truly special. The entire KEXP Iceland concert is worth a watch. It's perfect.
She is special. She remind me of Onuka or The Hardkiss (both bands come from Ukraine) a little bit with her engagement in to lyrics and sound. Aurora put a lot of heart in music and it is visible. Great reaction, as always.
I love Aurora. A lot of her songs are sad or have a melancholy feel to them. I think that in creating her music she is able to get those thoughts and feelings out of herself. At the same time, a lot of her songs are very uplifting, perhaps just by the fact that we can relate to a lot of the same things. In general Aurora is much more impactful to watch live. Bad jokes aside, Cosmic Wolff lol, so much fun to see your reaction once again, big love.
Cool! Looking forward to more Aurora 😊. Most of her songs comes from something dark, although they might not all sound like it. Often great (but sometimes hard to get the full meaning of...) lyrics. She has good music video's but really shines live, as she puts so much into her performances. The emotions making her write in the first place returns on stage. Some of my personal favorites are just her on a piano or with a guitar, but she's also great with her always awesome band, or even with a symphonic orchestra.
"dude, she is so expressive" lololol understatement of the century! (I'm not saying that in a critical or impatient way, I intend it as... idk, conversational & joyful ❤) I can't wait for you to discover just how expressive she is! I guess lots or even most of her music would have to have the description "pop" tied to it, but it's not *pop.* Synth folk pop? Psychedelic folk pop? Not sure it falls under dream pop either but maybe there could be a case to be made that by adding another word or two, you could use that term. Great to see you diving into Aurora's solo stuff on your channel. I'm here for that rabbit hole! It's interesting that you pointed out how expressive she is, from a music video. She's known for how expressive she is in her live performances (don't be fooled by the Wardruna performance, where she was pretty chill as a guest). She never performs the same song the same way twice, adjusting to her mood at the time, as well as that of the audience. She's never worried about getting it "perfect" (though it usually is), but about expressing herself with everything she's got. So, you're really in for a treat when you start checking out her live stuff.
I think you in particular would love "All is Soft Inside" live at KEXP in Iceland! :) Bjork was in the audience for that small show....and Aurora and her band were in top form. It's a stellar performance. Also....Lucky live at Nidarosdomen is one of the most emotionally stunning things I've ever seen/heard. The entire Nidarosdomen concert is hands down her best, but that song in particular is real special...
Oh man, you got so much to see and discover 😊 Aurora is just something else. If i may, i suggest you to watch AURORA - MURDER SONG (5,4,3,2,1) - The 2015 Nobel Peace Prize Concert. Yes its starting to get old but worth the 4 minutes!
As someone who's always been pretty staunchly anti-mainstream music industry and pop music in general, i relate a lot with what u said. aurora is very pop-y, but the difference is the sincerity and heart behind her work. If u see her in interviews or some of the documentaries about her, her personality is just so special and genuine. Im sure youve already gotten plenty of comments already telling you to check out some of her live performances, but ill just second that too lol. there are the incredible, emotional ones like runaway and murder song at the nobel peace prize concert, or any song from the nidarosdomen one. My personal favorite performances of hers are from KEXP (churchyard, all is soft inside, gentle earthquakes). Her energy in that one is just so infectious and fun.
I just love Aurora music And she is not only singer but she create her songs, coproduce them, compose music etc. And yes she use different music elements but she is close to pop (especially in some song) but still not like mainstream or "standard" pop songs + as I said she has a lot of variety in her music (like like to experiment with sounds too). Her songs has songs with meaningful message and she has her unique style and very beautiful tone in her voice. She is very artistic and creative person too. Actually she is my favorite Artist from some time. But you need to know that she has often somewhat poetic lyrics and open for interpretation (not like very straightforward lyrics). This one is like breaking from chains of civilization (maybe also society) and be more with nature. There are a lot of cool symbolism in the video too. For example:: - this "mega city" symbolize civilization/technology - the wasteland around symbolize impact of civilization on nature - The wolf is a symbol of freedom and wildness, and of course running with wolves is being free - the roots/wires symbolize our attachment to civilization and modern society, this man in the car similar. - I like her chaotic movement in the song which shows energy of the song and also looks like trapped wolf I also love how she sings wolves like howling - I like the contrast between her movement next to the city and how calm she is between trees (nature) on the end
Very nice reaction, loved it🤗 Aurora is my favourite artist and I absolutely love her personality. She really is expressive, just wait till you see her live 😍 She’s very diverse when it comes to her music, you never know what to expect from her Looking forward to more Aurora reactions Some of my favourite performances are: “Through the eyes of a child” live at Nidarosdomen (cathedral in Norway) 2017 This is an important song for her Fun fact: It was played in the series The 100 (season 4, in the end of episode 12) “Soft Universel live at Nidarosdomen “The Seed” live at the HAIK concert 2019 A cry for Mother Earth, also an important song for her “It Happened Quiet” live at Current This song was inspired by domestic violence, and after she’s killed she comes back to haunt him “All is soft inside” live at KEXP Iceland 2018 “Murder Song (5,4,3,2,1)” live at the Nobel peace prize concert 2015 About mercy killing “Runaway” live at the Nobel peace prize concert 2015 This is her breakthrough song, and an important song for her. She wrote it when she was 11 years old, and is one of few songs that are about herself She herself says it’s a great place to start☺️ Fun fact: It was played in the series The Following These are just a small selection of my favourites. It’s actually quite hard to pick favourites, because she’s so darn good ❤️
Aurora is one of the most expressive performers out there and is one of the most genuine and unique artists you will find. She writes her own songs and has an amazing perspective on life and nature. She is the closest thing to a wood elf that can be found in the real world. Anyway, as others are recommending, Murder Song (at the Nobel Prize concert) should be up next. Besides her original stuff, she also does some amazing covers.
@@TheWolffAndTheMelody love it. You will also want to check out Norway’s other prodigy, Angeline Jordan. I highly recommend, “I Put a Spell On You” (black and white version). This one will blow your mind.
If you’re only beginning this journey you are in for a treat. Her vocals take you to another place. I recommend “Through the eyes of a child” both live versions are mesmerising. She is a MUST live. Even better than her studio recordings… not even kidding. And also “The Seed” HAIK version.
Nice reaction! Unique, haunting, special, different, expressive, harmonic, etherial, empathic, magical. Aurora is a complete artist. And she got something to say. Her music is not mainly "poppy", I especially enjoy her more intimiate acoustic live performances. You will enjoy this ride and dive deeply into a different world of music.
..for some reason , Metalheads , like me , tend to like Aurora.. Her music is exellent , intelilegent , She is in Her own world when sinigng live.......
If you're looking for something a little bit more "metal" tinged, I HIGHLY suggest her song Under The Water. One of the hardest alt-pop songs of the millennium so far. The Seed is up there too.
Awesome song, great reaction. She is very emotionally invested in the songs she writes, she calls them her children and she actually starting writing songs/music as therapy for herself, to get thoughts out of her head. She is very unique, you really can't put her in a box when it comes to genre of music, she has a huge discography and her songs are all over the place with regards to genres, IMO anyway. Some of her sad songs have an upbeat tempo to keep them from being completely depressing, she is a genius lyricist and music composer, some of the sounds she puts into her songs are very "not mainstream", lol. She is not a cookie cutter mainstream artist. She is my all time favorite multi talented artist, she is performance art at its best, thanks and hope to see you again soon with more Aurora.
If you're diving into the Aurora rabbit hole, welcome lol. Just started head first myself not too long ago. I definitely recommend her song The Seed (official video as it has such an impact visually)! But as for her entire discography, she is absolutely stunning live. I recommend watching her live performances at the 2015 Nobel Peace Prize concert, and she also did a live concert in the middle of a Norwegian forest for a documentary she was in. I believe it's called the Haik concert, which from some of your Heilung reactions, I know you'll really resonate with
@@TheWolffAndTheMelody First I would watch the official music video. Every version of The Seed that she does live is different. It holds a different sense of emotion each time. My favorite live version though, is from the Haik concert in Norway. It's hard to find a "good" quality of JUST that song though. If you'd like, I can link you to a video that has the entire concert (with English subtitles as the interviews between songs are in Norwegian). And I can also give you the time stamp for that specific song, so you don't spoil other songs you haven't heard yet.
Hi Cosmic!!!! Now that you're doing something not metal.... I'll request Florence + The Machine - King. Every Florence song is worth reacting to but I think you'll like the dark aspect of that one! ❤
Yayyy. Aurora!! Now Kalandra?? Also from Norway. Kalandra did a cover of Helvegen too.. (which is awesome!) but I’d recommend checking out their music video ‘Borders’. ❤❤❤
Agree 100% Helvegen by Wardruna is powerful and soul-touching, and Kalandra's cover gives the song an altogether different feel ... ethereal and haunting. It retains the same incredibly inspiring and empowering message, and is equally powerful but, if anything, more emotive than Wardruna. I was blown away by it.
Great reaction, thanks! There's really no artist quite like Aurora. If you want to continue your introduction to her music, her videos are all artistically brilliant, but some of them are being blocked on UA-cam in North America right now for some reason, not by Aurora. You can see blocked content if you connect a VPN to UK or Europe. Her live performances are usually better than the studio recordings. She performed three songs: "Runaway", "Murder Song (5,4,3,2,1)" and "Half The World Away" at a Nobel Peace Prize concert in 2015. These are great performances, right at the beginning of her career. In 2017 she performed a concert at Nidarosdomen Cathedral in Trondheim. It's on UA-cam in it's entirety, and all the performances are great. You would probably find "Through The Eyes Of A Child", "Lucky", and "Soft Universe" from Nidarosdomen great introductory videos to react to.
Anyone who reActs to AURoRA deserves a SUBscribsion ;) Thank you from Arctic Lo-Ve Islands, Norway o/ I wish for you to reAct to her OFF. VIDeo to her song The SEED. And perhaps CHURCHYARD live@KEXP, Iceland. Have a wonderful one 🙏
Dude, this song is awesome but it's by far not her best IMHO. You love her expressions in her music video? Wait until you see her perform live: she will blow your mind big time. And I'm not even gonna suggest a song because it's almost impossible to go wrong. 😁 Very excited to follow your Aurora journey.
Her next song will be different, all hers are. Stick to the live versions, they are better as she re-interprets every time. Try one of her songs at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert, then dip into her masterpiece, the Nidarosdomen Concert.
She is perhaps a very talented singer and the video productiin is absolute great with a really high budget..., but... i absolutely can't stand thes fake computer auto-tune voices anymore... Everything sounds alike because of it... and makes everything boring. Give me human voices, please. U dont wanna hear robots anymore...
Murder Song 5,4,3,2,1 and Runaway from the 2015 Noble Peace Prize concert is a must next. You ain't seen nothing from Aurora yet, hehe.
Those are the songs that defined her for me. I prefer her darker stuff.
I think you’re going to be super moved by her music and her as an artist. Can’t wait to see you dive in.

For example::
- this "mega city" symbolize civilization/technology
- the wasteland around symbolize impact of civilization on nature
- The wolf is a symbol of freedom and wildness, and of course running with wolves is being free
- the roots/wires symbolize our attachment to civilization and modern society, this man in the car similar.
- I like her chaotic movement in the song which shows energy of the song and also looks like trapped wolf I also love how she sings wolves like howling
- I like the contrast between her movement next to the city and how calm she is between trees (nature) on the end
Very nice reaction, loved it🤗
Aurora is my favourite artist and I absolutely love her personality.
She really is expressive, just wait till you see her live 😍
She’s very diverse when it comes to her music, you never know what to expect from her
Looking forward to more Aurora reactions
Some of my favourite performances are:
“Through the eyes of a child” live at Nidarosdomen (cathedral in Norway) 2017
This is an important song for her
Fun fact: It was played in the series The 100 (season 4, in the end of episode 12)
“Soft Universel live at Nidarosdomen
“The Seed” live at the HAIK concert 2019
A cry for Mother Earth, also an important song for her
“It Happened Quiet” live at Current
This song was inspired by domestic violence, and after she’s killed she comes back to haunt him
“All is soft inside” live at KEXP Iceland 2018
“Murder Song (5,4,3,2,1)” live at the Nobel peace prize concert 2015
About mercy killing
“Runaway” live at the Nobel peace prize concert 2015
This is her breakthrough song, and an important song for her.
She wrote it when she was 11 years old, and is one of few songs that are about herself
She herself says it’s a great place to start☺️
Fun fact: It was played in the series The Following
These are just a small selection of my favourites. It’s actually quite hard to pick favourites, because she’s so darn good ❤️
She's like mother Earth's daughter. Her songs are inspired by the nature
Welcome to Aurora, check out her live performances. Kexp is amazing!
She sang at Notradame Cathedral. It's an angelic concert.
Nidarosdomen!
Oops my bad lol
She writes the best songs and then performs them like nobody else can.
Aurora is a fantastic artist. She feels what she sings
I for sure will have more coming.
@@TheWolffAndTheMelody love it. You will also want to check out Norway’s other prodigy, Angeline Jordan. I highly recommend, “I Put a Spell On You” (black and white version). This one will blow your mind.
i am a metalhead.. but this performance on nobel peace prize - murder song... its good for you
If you’re only beginning this journey you are in for a treat.
Her music videos are nice for her art, but her live performances are what really show who she is.
..for some reason , Metalheads , like me , tend to like Aurora.. Her music is exellent , intelilegent , She is in Her own world when sinigng live.......
Can't wait until you get to her live stuff.
If you're looking for something a little bit more "metal" tinged, I HIGHLY suggest her song Under The Water. One of the hardest alt-pop songs of the millennium so far. The Seed is up there too.
She performs with Wardruna on one of their songs! it's so beautiful live. def recommend checking that out
Best song to start with
My all time favorite
Watch the live versions..... it will blow yer mind even more!!!
this was my 1st aurora song , and i dearly love it!
It's a sub from me stay safe.
Yo thank you so much! Much love friend! Welcome to the Council!
Late for the Aurora party, but I loved your reaction. She is something special❤
This was sooooo good.
oh! i missed this reaction video. please do more aurora and heilung reactions.
Pleaseee keep reactin to her pleaseeee
If you're diving into the Aurora rabbit hole, welcome lol. Just started head first myself not too long ago. I definitely recommend her song The Seed (official video as it has such an impact visually)! But as for her entire discography, she is absolutely stunning live. I recommend watching her live performances at the 2015 Nobel Peace Prize concert, and she also did a live concert in the middle of a Norwegian forest for a documentary she was in. I believe it's called the Haik concert, which from some of your Heilung reactions, I know you'll really resonate with
Ohhh I can't wait to dive into more! Thanks so much for the guidance!
which version of the Seed? NatGeo Earth day?
@@TheWolffAndTheMelody First I would watch the official music video. Every version of The Seed that she does live is different. It holds a different sense of emotion each time. My favorite live version though, is from the Haik concert in Norway. It's hard to find a "good" quality of JUST that song though.
If you'd like, I can link you to a video that has the entire concert (with English subtitles as the interviews between songs are in Norwegian). And I can also give you the time stamp for that specific song, so you don't spoil other songs you haven't heard yet.
@@TheWolffAndTheMelody just in case, it's ua-cam.com/video/8un_miodCoo/v-deo.htmlsi=tsa07awjGdb8iWSc&t=1333 Song starts at 22:13 and ends at 27:35
Check out her live performances, she's frigging incredible.
always live is best
Hi Cosmic!!!! Now that you're doing something not metal.... I'll request Florence + The Machine - King. Every Florence song is worth reacting to but I think you'll like the dark aspect of that one! ❤
Just for you ☺
You still have a lot to discover about her!❤ We love her sm 🗣️ new subscriber 🎉
thanks so much for the love! I can't wait to discover more.
Glad you found this. I love this song. So beautiful
Yayyy.
@@stephenwand3417 agreed! Katrine’s voice is *chef’s kiss*
I got Kalandra coming. Can't wait
@@TheWolffAndTheMelody Oooh yay! Thank you!! ❤️❤️❤️
Hi fellow pack member, I have clicked your videos, but for this one I give you my words. Just drown in it and enjoy my fellow Wolf.
Much love friend! I'm so glad you are here.
the last very high note in the end as backing vocal? who does that and puts it as backing vocal? she's special.
Ohhh I believe I have "Lucky" up next! I really loved this song and plan on doing more. Much love Friend!
I highly recommend The River by Aurora
She's known to be a nature child,i think this song is about going from something fake to something real....to find and trust yourself. But just my wiew
😊👍
Anyone who reActs to AURoRA deserves a SUBscribsion ;)
Thank you from Arctic Lo-Ve Islands, Norway o/
I wish for you to reAct to her OFF. VIDeo to her song The SEED.
And perhaps CHURCHYARD live@KEXP, Iceland. Have a wonderful one 🙏
I've really enjoyed diving into her music! Much love! Thanks for being here.
I hope youll give a listen to Cure for Me and Runaway as well
Dude, this song is awesome but it's by far not her best IMHO. You love her expressions in her music video? Wait until you see her perform live: she will blow your mind big time. And I'm not even gonna suggest a song because it's almost impossible to go wrong. 😁 Very excited to follow your Aurora journey.
I can't wait to dive into more of her stuff.
Her next song will be different, all hers are. Stick to the live versions, they are better as she re-interprets every time. Try one of her songs at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert, then dip into her masterpiece, the Nidarosdomen Concert.
Was ist ein Metal Elitist???? lol
She’s amazing live, her voice sounds even better than in mv 😊 But her voice almost sounds like there’s a natural autotune in it
