The clones where over time phased out. The last clones in service where used for education, essentially as drill sergeants training the new recruits. The rest of them where presumably retired somehow. The Empire may be evil but I doubt that even they where killing them off. I guess that they got some small retirement package and sent away I do not know.
Guys, the legion that conquered Hoth was the 501st so technically they are clones. However, we could argue that there were also other units present at Hoth to make your theories work.
As a VietNam grunt and survivor, I can say this, "A little humor before combat is a good thing. If you get killed, at least you'll die with a smile on your face."
I often tell my wife the same thing. Her reply is always the same "Just because you will have a smile on your face doesn't mean we'll both be smiling." 😮
If the Stormtrooper Corps was like a real-world military branch, you pretty much nailed it; the FNG, the Old Timer, the bantering back and forth, the sexual innuendoes, the Blue Falcon...brings back memories

Plus he's not worthless lightsaber fodder, as showcased by the quick reflexes he displayed when Luke tossed in the detonator. Good sir, I believe you may be onto something there!
@@sam8404 Yes and no. The majority of the clones were gone, but some aging clones were kept around to train fledgling storm troopers. Especially in the earlier days of the Empire. It made no sense to toss them all aside, given their proven effectiveness in battle and the unwavering loyalty the inhibitor chips instilled in them. The reason they stopped producing them is because they lacked the means. The Kaminoans rebelled, creating a fresh batch of clones that were intended to protect Kamino. The newly-formed Empire couldn't afford to allow such rebellion, so they sent their clones to quell it. Many of the original clones died subduing Kamino, but those who remained were put to work training new recruits to replace them. Incidentally, that is also the reason for the difference in armor. The clones' armor was produced by Kaminoans, so the Empire had to establish armor manufacturing of their own. They clearly lacked either the skills or funds to match the quality of the old armor. Perhaps both. An interesting tidbit: the Kaminoans could see a wider spectrum of light than most humanoids. While the armor appeared white to humans and many other species, the Kaminoans had imbued it with colors that they could interpret to distinguish different units and ranks. Sadly, the clones' rapid aging became a problem. Many of the older clones aged out early on during the reign of the Empire. Younger clones lasted a bit longer, and the Empire dedicated a fair amount of resources to preserving the clones as long as possible. So there were still a few holdouts left, possibly even up to and after the Battle of Yavin. TL;DR: The clones were mostly gone, but a sparse few remained in service until they were too old to be of use.

I am glad someone made it out alive. When I first started watching star wars with my son he was horrified at the storm troopers getting killed. We have a small army of storm trooper toys that were always the good guys in our scenarios. For the Empire!

When the Special Editions were released, I was hoping for an inside look of a walker during the Hoth battle. Either the one that was tripped or the one Luke cut open.
There's a nice spoof comic series called Tag & Bink. Ir's about two characters that accidentally influence or are present for events in the Star Wars universe. This series reminded me of them. They were actually going to cameo in Solo, but it got cut
The dynamic here is the same reason why one of my favorite parts of, "The Madalorian" was when the two troopers are waiting in the field with Grogu as their prisoner trying to contact Moff Gideon. They get in contact with some other trooper in the town who resigned tells them, "It's going to be a while, he just killed some lieutenant who tried to interrupt him."
I loved that. Star Wars is chock-full of background characters and rank-and-file soldiers. I love when we get to see a little of what life is like outside of the space battles and lightsaber fights. It's also why I really like the "From A Certain Point Of View" books.

This is by far my favorite one of the bunch. Takes the feeling of being 14 years old with your friends singing star wars tunes. Also was it the vet making a snow angel since the recruit is in pain and presumably the one face down in the snow I find that a hilarious side to his character.
The second one out was falling through the air face-down as the AT-AT exploded. That would be the vet, who kicked the other out first. Which would probably mean the vet was the one just not bothering to move, while the newbie's like "hey, snow!"
The vet was the one face down in the snow. The newbie was on his back pointing up as he commented on how they'd have been killed without his fixation on the malfunctioning light.
I feel like by this point in time the veteran trooper gave in to the rookies silly ways and decided to let loose a little too . that's what makes this series so good . the characters grow
What's funnny is that this isn't entirely unrealistic. It's easy to forget that beneath the Storm Trooper armor are actual human beings with personalities and quirks. Even the most hardened modern soldier drops the stoicism behind close doors.
@@youwebz Any clones in the Empire by now would by well into their 50s, where does it say these are clones? They'd have been retired or put into less physically demanding roles by now, mostly training Stormtroopers.
We actually tried to sing(badly) into step to Imperial march while we practiced marching during bootcamp a decade ago. Our NCO was having none of it though.🤣
I really hope before the series ends, maybe as a finale, we get an episode that really dives into these two. Like they are stationed near a city being attacked by pirates after Endor. FNG wants to go protect civilians, but FKU tells him it's pointless because the Empire is crumbling and it wouldn't bother because it was evil to begin with. FNG decides he doesn't care, he chooses to be a soldier that does his job and helps people. So he goes into battle, and is out of his league immediately. Then FKU comes in to save him and shows he is actually hard-core soldier and they save the day.

While I find this great because its a fan work, I would rather have any official Imperial Series be serious because I'm sick of Stormtroopers being treated like jokes by the franchise.
Gods of old, I was so scared for those guys when he said their walker had stomped on a speeder and the pilot went back but got clear. The writing in these is awesome. I wonder where they'll be next? Maybe guarding a carbonite-freezing facility on Bespin for no conceivable reason? Or transferred to a humungous construction yard where someone is building another Pointless Expensive Death Sphere? Or stuck in a really nice scenic forest with killer teddy-bears?
at first i was like oh wow the cgi looks pretty good, then halfway through I caught a tiny glimpse of some pixels or something on the vertans helmet and realized I had forgotten it was CGI algether and thought it was Live Action for minutes. Those models look great, animation is fucking spot on and great voice acting!!
With Snowtroopers being at the top of my list of favorite characters, I can't believe what I just watched. Never thought I would see them starring in their own movie. And that ending is unbelievably funny.

While I find this great because its a fan work, I would rather have any official Imperial Series be serious because I'm sick of Stormtroopers being treated like jokes by the franchise.

New characters added and removed shortly after due to a skinny blonde kid with a glowstick and his detonator.

Gods of old, I was so scared for those guys when he said their walker had stomped on a speeder and the pilot went back but got clear. The writing in these is awesome. I wonder where they'll be next? Maybe guarding a carbonite-freezing facility on Bespin for no conceivable reason? Or transferred to a humungous construction yard where someone is building another Pointless Expensive Death Sphere? Or stuck in a really nice scenic forest with killer teddy-bears?

This is like a high budget Lego stop motion video in all of the best ways
at first i was like oh wow the cgi looks pretty good, then halfway through I caught a tiny glimpse of some pixels or something on the vertans helmet and realized I had forgotten it was CGI algether and thought it was Live Action for minutes. Those models look great, animation is fucking spot on and great voice acting!!

With Snowtroopers being at the top of my list of favorite characters, I can't believe what I just watched. Never thought I would see them starring in their own movie. And that ending is unbelievably funny.
