46100 ‘Royal Scot’ is seen around Kent, replacing 70000 ‘Britannia’ on the first “Garden of England Lunchtime Tour” of 2024! 46100 is first (just about) seen through Rochester where the loco was seen coasting through. A few delayed trains meant that I wasn’t able to go forward with my original plan of seeing it accelerate out of the tunnel at Chatham. I then saw 46100 arriving at and departing ...

excellent shot it was a complete shambles at tonbridge they decided to let a 465 out of the jubilee sidings through platform 2 as it was approaching tonbridge station i was standing inside the shelter by the time the 465 had through it was to late to do anything why couldn't they wait until it had gone through then bring the 465 out trust Ashford signalers they also made a mess of 66718 going into the yard 😡

excellent shots 👍it didn't go to plan at kings cross instead of it going on platform 6 they put it on 5 because of a 4 car passenger train being there but didn't mind as you could see it coming back out ok but then it all went wrong the 4 car went out and later on a 8 0r 10 came in to replace it and got in way so everyone went to the end of the platform so there was no room so didn't get it 😡around the time it came in from eastleigh there was 10 different platform changes

Hard to believe that cute little saddle tank L&YR Class 23, was once a tender engine, before a rebuild. And their sister L&YR Class 25 No.957 survives as a tender engine. Wonderful to see them preserved. Both would've made great characters in Thomas the Tank.
Yeah that is hard to believe actually!
excellent shots 👍remember seeing it at kings cross last year
Thanks! Yeah that was amazing! I’d hoped to see it leaving Paddington at Royal Oak but it left late and stopped at a signal outside the station so got bowled
excellent shot👍 managed to see it at pluckley
Thank you! Nice! 👍
excellent shot👍 glad you got it it didn't work out for me the 86 got bowled by a freight at Watford junction and sir nigel gresley by a passenger train at aspley because it was 8 minutes early 😡

The Scots were beautiful engines and gave great service to the LMS expresses like the Thames Clyde.
This was my second time seeing the loco and it’s already one of my favourites!
Once rebuilt both Patriots and more so Scots became great engines powerful and rugged machines capable of hauling large loads across some of the most rugged routes in The UK
Great loco once rebuilt probably the best 4-6-0 built in Britain on a performance level even though the King's were supposed to be approximately 20% more powerful
27:03 The coaches seem to be in pretty bad condition with exterior covered in dust and soot and paints peeling off. Why haven't they cleaned and painted them?
Not sure really. It would’ve made sense to, especially before a big gala
@@that_transport_guy5404I wonder if it could be the effect of exposure to smoke and coal dust, since its the first two coaches behind the locomotives that seem to be in especially bad shape. And by the way, is the white smoke (steam?) seen coming off behind the rear carriage coming from the train heater? I have a fascination for steam locomotives but never had the chance to see a working steam train with my own eyes (born a little too late for it), so love watching them in videos. Thanks for sharing!
Royal Scots are a great punchy locomotive up there with Kings and Nelsons as the ultimate British 4-6-0 we are lucky to be be able to see x2 still performing today.
I agree! Only my second time seeing 46100 and only the locos 2nd time in Kent! Amazing loco!
My Dad was from Liverpool and used to tell me about them and the much maligned Clans but stoked Clan Buchanan at Lime Street the driver couldn't praise it enough as a locomotive often used as a substitute for Brits and expected to do more than was expected of them was the issue apparently. Very much in line with Scots coping with trains expected to be hauled by Prncess Royals or Duchesses they more than held their own powerful beasts especially after being rebuilt by Mr Stanier.
The Rebuilt Royal Scots and Rebuilt Patriots where excellent locomotives , nothing much they couldn't do even though they didn't carry the stocky look of their original form . I do prefer them in their rebuilt form I have one of each on my layout surprised Stanier never insisted on copying the Patriots more modern cab onto the Scots, maybe to give them a distinction between the two?. These and the Kings are my favourite British 4-6-0 .
@@user-dg3we5qn6e they are amazing locos!

A most enjoyable professional production made so much better with the inclusion of close ups of name plates, running gear plus general atmospheric shots such as the re-coaling then finishing up with that lovely sunset scene.... Well Done, and plenty more please.
Thank you very much appreciate it! 👍
@@that_transport_guy5404 Thanks for your reply. I know you've put in the video description the various places the train was filmed but I wonder if you could consider that if you are on a station platform you pan around showing the station name or even a still shot of the station name. This would instantly indicate to the viewer where the video was made. This is by no means a criticism but maybe a small enhancement to your future productions.
@@rogercook6360Ok I will consider that for future videos thank you for the feedback! Sometimes not all shots will be at stations so will be harder to do. 👍

@@JorgenRomeMojo I bet your one of those fat americans as well.
There are locomotives much more glamorous than the Big Boy. The Dreyfuss Hudson, for example. The N&W 611. SP Daylight 4449 and the Cab Forward. The C&O Allegheny. Do us a favor and stop bragging about the Big Boy like it's the greatest thing ever built.
Good trian.
