Hey Brandon, remember that the people who talk crap are in the minority here. I mean look at the likes compared to the dislikes on this video. Negative people are just loudmouths. I, and many others love what the Blue Devils do, and are inspired by you!
people under-appreciate how difficult it is to get a crescendo-descrescendo clean like that. It comes down to perfectly matched stick heights and velocity. You can *hear* how good these guys' technique is, and that's why they win year after year.
I KNOW. They collaborated with Natal, a British drumkit company, to make System Blues' own brand of drums. Also The Concord Blue Devils are making history by becoming the 1ST drum corps band, DCI or DCA, to perform with their own brand of brass and percussion instruments.
Anyone know of any good online snare drum tutor of videos coz I want to ba able to do this sort of stuff but I live in new Zealand so need some help getting there
They're actually really good harness' they're just the randall may carriers that have back support. I personally prefer them over the system blue/pearl design for marching, a lot more comfortable.
Yeah I remember our old Randall May harnesses they were really light and comfortable and the pearl harnesses were heavy haha. I don't understand the back strap on them. But the design on those looked kind of uncomfortable.
Man I tried, people getting in the way and did want to move... that was the best spot possible spot at the time... I did not have full media access - which is something im working on for next yr...
The quads play one note on their neighbors drum on that part of the exercise. Brandon put his stick out for the quad player to hit it because he's on the end of the quadline. It's just for fun.
Awww....seems like cyberschwartz got cut somewhere... As a matter of fact, when BD loses, they do NOT go out and "get a new staff." Techs cycle in and out of EVERY corps, but BD has had great consistency in the major staff positions since well before I marched the corps in 84. Wayne Downey's been there since he aged out of SCV in the mid-70a ScoJo also has been there since aging out of BD in the late 70s (barring a short stint at SCV) Scott Chandler's been there I don;t know how many years. John Meehan's been there since aging out in the late 80s....hit father, Jack, was one of my instructors. Dave Gibbs has been with the org since he was 16....director since 1991 and only NOW starting to pull away from the Exec Dir position. BD's staff is a model of consistency, unlike OTHER corps that change staff frequently. They found the formula that works....YEARS ago...when Jerry Seawright spelled it out -- hire the right person for the job and then let them DO their job. You don't have their record of success without staff consistency being a major factor. Clearly, you do not understand BD...at all.
It wouldn't be much of a challenge. Cold Steel would be more groovy but Blue Devils would kill them on technique and playing skill. Not saying that Cold Steel sucks...Blue Devils are just the best of the best when it comes to corp. They are not a Universities drumline.
+Jarod M Blue Devils would take it, but that would be a fantastic display of two contrasting styles at their finest. Can't knock my showband lines that can actually do that work, and play, and I'm a former DCI guy as well. Percussion greatness takes many forms.
I wonder if they would lose their place if someone shows up playing out of beat and very badly like disrupting a parade by playing a trumpet all out of tune like a drunkard.
Why is Leonardo DiCaprio tapping BD off?
Hahahahahhahaa
His name is sean Clark
@@ianian2425 how do you know the guy's name you went their before??
Was this filmed with a System Blue camera?
Lol
nesnaj21 go big res

Go Big Red.
12:18 ... ahh, the sweet tenor break before they firehosed it
14:34 cold attack one handed 5-let. Wow.
every corps practices for an entire summer, but no one else has ever done a one-handed fivelet. i mean idk i thought it was pretty cool

pearlsnaredrummer77 lol I noticed the flags at half staff first.
In Htown, they were probably gone by the next day.

WHY DID THEY TAKE OUT THE THE BASS DRUM BEATS AROUND 16:00 ?!?!
is it me or i am seeing some kinda of tilt from the snares?
There is no tilt. There are a few that are not perfectly level, so I see where you would think that.
Scott Johnson is the TRUTH
Drumming boys man... 😍
One handed fivelet woke me from the slumber ass book, but I fell back asleep
Will Cochran True
You guys sounded awesome at Friday night
That triplet-roll sequence is some Star Trek shit, having an out of body experience. Next Gen stuff right there.
They ditched the nasty system blue harnesses for RM ones now?
17:12 - 17:19: the '99 Blue Devils drum line just rolled in its grave...
implying that people that were 21 in 99 are dead is interesting to me, also in sure they don't mind
I'm*
What did he mean by this
Everyone knows, the all time least feminine drumline, 99 BD
@@rickkyi4879 those 90's lines were just different
9:35 the guy in the maroon tank top looks like Chris Pratt
Ay, are those the Concord Blue Devils' brand new System Blue drums by Natal?
They're by system blue....
I KNOW. They collaborated with Natal, a British drumkit company, to make System Blues' own brand of drums. Also The Concord Blue Devils are making history by becoming the 1ST drum corps band, DCI or DCA, to perform with their own brand of brass and percussion instruments.

Jasmine Ward hey I know I’m late but I could help
What exercise are they playing at 11:14?
Kevin Medrano Eleven
I love watching Evan crescendo and decrescendo with his head haha 2:55
Hey man what mic you using? Sounds fresh. Gonna record some WGi stuff this season and wanna know how to get the crisp sounds
15:40 someone tell me why this looks like Bluecoats '14 without the tilt
How do you even join the Blue Devils?🤔
Salt
You're so salty the ocean is jealous
Assorted Various Meats what place did their percussion get
that must be why ur not good enough to be in the blue devils.
Angus Hsieh Not first, because SCV did
Alright, this may be a stupid question, but what is the name of the very first exercise they play?
BD Eights
did you purposely make your logo look like the lettering from star wars the phantom menace. lol
seriously. is it the camera or are feet/tech/and attacks bad?
Is the last guy Brandon? The kid that used to play with them with 12 years old?
Yep...3rd year in the line.
God, attacking for no reason, too much anger behind that big belly fatty ?? :(
God Bless Dr.Scott Johnston
What happened to the other harnesses
They were nearly sued by Pearl for stealing their design for carriers and hardware.
That sucks. Those look really uncomfortable.

Ours were a little different
looks like hey been learning some tricks from TS
Drum Master studios, your lack of tenors is frustrating. Don't get me wrong, i like bass drum, but I'd much rather see tenors doing business.
Man I tried, people getting in the way and did want to move... that was the best spot possible spot at the time... I did not have full media access - which is something im working on for next yr...
DrumMaster Studios Ha! It's all good. I'm only just poking at you a bit. Enjoy your vids. Take care. :)
hahah - and thanks for watching...
oh my god i was at the berry center for area
Scotty taking snaps? lol 10:37
What the hell was Brandon doing at 6:58

Oh that's cool!

Do people in California still wear their caps backwards?? That's so outdated.
bengemeister obviously not outdated if it still happens
Yes, bluecoats beat them at nashville!!!!
bluecoats are tite..
sco jo looks likes hes wearing the pic of destiny
go wood
They should battle Cold Steel. Talk about a battle lol
It wouldn't be much of a challenge. Cold Steel would be more groovy but Blue Devils would kill them on technique and playing skill. Not saying that Cold Steel sucks...Blue Devils are just the best of the best when it comes to corp. They are not a Universities drumline.
+Frederick Griffin they're down in drums right now actually. San Antonio they were 5th, behind Crown, Cadets, SCV, and Bluecoats taking it
where did you find that out?
+Taylor McBride how do you know?
+Jarod M Blue Devils would take it, but that would be a fantastic display of two contrasting styles at their finest. Can't knock my showband lines that can actually do that work, and play, and I'm a former DCI guy as well. Percussion greatness takes many forms.
Que es eso noes música
this is what happens when jebronis take control of scojos lines...they dont win drums
James Eriksen yeah paul rennick also exists
I wonder if they would lose their place if someone shows up playing out of beat and very badly like disrupting a parade by playing a trumpet all out of tune like a drunkard.
great playing, but those carbon fiber drums not only sound atrocious but they look awful too
