You'd think with an all-vet quad line and such a talented snare line(6 returning snares) they would be throwing down some harder stuff for that 2017 production. It seems like the short snare and quad break was the hardest stuff they played all summer.
That’s what I don’t get! More than half the snareline was aging out with 5+ years of experience and it seems like the book could’ve been a lot more difficult. Not saying it wasn’t difficult but for them it must’ve been fairly easy and along with how many king rests they have in the show it kinda seems boring
I find this more musical and enjoyable than ANY of the actual drum corps performance pieces out there. Obviously less complex but to me, much more melodic than the full pieces.
Jeffrey T. Le top secret legit plays accent taps and does stick tricks whereas here BD is just warming up. In that video BD vs TS, a both just played accent taps.
ZayProductions my point is that they were both playing simple things, not literally just accent taps. What I’m getting at is TS plays much simpler music that is not even on the same level at BD, as they are considered one of the best drumlines in dci every year. I was just agreeing with Jeffery T on the quality of BD
Damn that's a storm a brewing! What's the rule on storms? I wouldn't want to be marching with lightning near by
Fantasy23Legend they don't march outside in some places, there is usually a indoor field
no nononono o o The stadium was outdoors. The storm had just missed us but caused quite a delay between the Crossmen and Blue Knights.
Drummer Boy yeah I was there as well it was probably an hour delay
Andrew Campbell which one did you play
This is one of the best books written... I love the sound of the drums they are tuned perfectly..
I got Vietnam flashbacks to Sterling at the beginning 😂
That's not drumming That's baning your drum.
6:35 kim possible?
4:07 lol

Well it also depends on the music the brass plays, gotta fit in with the ensemble

@@matto1540 fitting in with the rest of the ensemble is not exactly a BD trademark.
10:22 was the far left snare on the bluecoats last year
Yee
DeathIsOverRated wooooooow what a traitor
That man can predict the winner of DCI!
He graduated from my high school a few years back. Never got the chance to know him but he came to watch our winter line practice last year lol.
Andrew Campbell I hope you know that there are like three other Bluecoat vets in the snareline lol
0:35 the lightning in the background
They be drumming away but there is a funnel cloud in the background
Those press rolls, how long could someone do that for?
I like this lot
4:07 the quads hit each others drum #4
The end tenor hit the stick of the end snare at 4:08
lmao
Lucky Chops lmao why xD
Dallas Sniper wow, lmao!
Sooooory blue devil's
Blue devil's los mejores ,de donde son
Concord, California
@@simonking5381 Gracias ❤
What is the warm-up at 4:48?
It's some weird timed rolls maybe 4/4 timing to 5/4 timing, then a Triplet Diddle on the outer part of the snare, then back to the roll warmup.
MetalSkeleton56 it’s just triplets to sixteenth notes
I find this more musical and enjoyable than ANY of the actual drum corps performance pieces out there. Obviously less complex but to me, much more melodic than the full pieces.
That's a tight ass warmup to loosing them wrist up! Them boys chopping
How do hit rims in that quad break with cutaways
Where's your video? I want to see you play that
just because we cant play it better doesnt mean that they arent hitting rims and doesnt mean that they couldnt play it better
I can now say that I’ve been in the same parking lot as then
the bassline is cleannnn
Sooo....are we just ignoring the tornado that's about to drop from from that wall cloud in the background...or nahhhh...0_o?!
Hi
why do they play a different snare break when they are in the lot
This was before they changed the first part of the snare break
Their snare tech may or may not be teching my school drumline... Jared Andrews
The difficultly of BD books has been declining each year.
I know. This years kinda sucked. Haha it's funny I saw scojo today at our high schools Drumline competition.
So isn’t it interesting that they were tops at final in content? Maybe you aren’t such a good judge of such things.
@@cairnman100 By Allan Kristensen no less, one of the best and fairest judges DCI has.
hostrauser Thus, I would believe him. More notes does not always = higher content. Can only pack so many hertas into a program. 😏
Benjamin Cervantes But BD keeps bringing titles so thats all that matters at the end of the day.
Note!
@ 2:41 The Police, "Don't Stand So Close To Me."
I’m looking for the Top Secret fan boys to come here and say that Top Secret is better than the Blue Devils.
Jeffrey T. Le lol
Looks like you are wrong in your assumption there are “Top Secret Fanboys”

I just realized the tenor line is the same as 2016 lol
Wow
I recognize that accent tap from scv years ago. Still sounds good tho...the snare line in triplet diddle sounded nasty af
🏆
MDFS IS WHERE ITS AT
BRYCE GOTEM muh muh
1:12-1:14 snare on the far right messed up.
He graduated from my school a couple years back
kenny james they’re not Jesus. It does happen
@@matthewwainwright6366 everyone always gets so offended when people point out ticks- it's not a personal attack on the group, just an observation man
He handled it like a pro though. Jumps right back in.
I noticed it myself. Thought my eyes were playing tricks on me and I was just seeing things.
They are almost to clean
1:12
Y’all guy act like you don’t know who these guys are THEY ARE THE BLUE DEVILS. Saying there dirty ha, no.
4:20
oops...
Quad break.... I still can't get over hitting rims when there are none to hit. It was literally designed not to hit. Blue Devils don't hit rims.
