It’s worth noting that once the OEM UV stabilizers in the plastic have been depleted, they cannot be replaced. As such, subsequent refinishing to the headlamps will need to be repeated every 1-3 years as they will yellow or haze fairly quickly. Steve mentions waxing, which can help. So can applying an ‘aerospace’ UV blocker.

thanks for the tips. I knew there had to be a better tool for the job than the little disc sander system from 3M that I have been using.

Good Morning! Yes, as far as I know, this is the only hand cleaner that works well on pine sap. I think you'll like it.
Drop by my website baileylineroad.com for a visit sometime. You'll find lots of stuff there, including tool giveaways, articles and videos of interest to hands-on, how-to people.
Bye for now and thanks for watching!

Thanks for the tips, I had done the lights on our car but used wet dry paper and compound with about the same result. Had not tried the hand cleaner though so
Ill pick some up and try it our. I use a hand cleaner with pumice so it is way to abrasive for the paint. Thanks again.

I use a product from CTC called Plax, just rub it on with a rag and polish it also with a rag and no need to use an electric polisher. Takes about 5 minutes to do both headlights.

I've never heard of that where can I buy it? I have my 87 f250, 4X4, the truck only has 56,000 miles on it but the headlights are so cloudy they actually look white.

@@billthompson5644 I think CTC is short for Canadian Tire Corp. If you live in Canada youll know where to find a store.

@@normanhumphrey9695 I purchased it in the automotive section about 3 or 4 years ago. I only use use it one or two times a year and the container is still about 3/4 full. I think it was about $6.00, it's not a very large container and it lasts a long time as you only need a dab to rub on the headlight lens.

I have a 2004 F150 that had cloudy lenses, I tried several products that worked for about 6 months then they became crazed and cloudy again. Believe it or not Walmart on line had lanes that fit my truck and have been clear for the last two years and for $69.00 for both lens.
