Hi there, I'm looking to get out of this exorbitant real estate market on the west coast (Oregon) but I'm an outdoorsie country gal. (Older one). I have lots of pets and we hike in the Cascades almost daily out here. Nature is my sanctuary so what part of the state would you recommend. I am from northern Missouri before living in Oregon. The prices, the LOW crime, and the cleanliness is a draw!! Suggestions...? Plz. Dog friendly places would be great. Breweries and festivals a plus. Art scene would be great. A more liberal environmentally aware area is what I'm most interested in I suppose. Thoughts? Even more of a concern...I guess you guys use studded snow tires every winter there?
Having driven from Boone, NC to Grand Rapids and then Grand Rapids to Sioux Falls, SD on the way to California I can safely say Indiana is the least enjoyable to drive through east of the Mississippi. Iowa is pretty by comparison (I'm guessing it's one of those two states yall were bagging on) lol. And once you head west it just gets worse til the Rockies lol. Michigan is definitely an outlier in terms of natural beauty.
Yesss! Indiana was the state I was talking about! 😆 Ohio is about the same except when you get down to the south in chillicothe area. Still on my bucket list to see the Rockies!
We are looking to relocate in the next two years, currently live in Northwest Ohio. We love the west side of Michigan! What are the most affordable small towns that are within an hour of Lake Michigan?
There are many options in the West Michigan area! If you send us an email we can send you a form to fill out and then get on a zoom call to discuss your options!
