The DR650 is indeed an awesome dual sport bike. Seeing how you can not, or will not take Steve's DR650 off road, you can see what the almighty DR650 can do off road in a couple of my videos. HAPPY TRAILS!
Just subscribed... as an owner of a 02 HD xl1200c and 16 DR650... I vote DO IT! You will not be disappointed. Mine only sees dirt and gravel once a year. It is so much fun as a street bike it's ridiculous! Completely different ride and feel then the HD and that's why I like it. Be warned... you will lose all regard for curbs... sidewalks... and anything else that stands in the way of getting in and out of places easily lol.
Estie, I've got a "whack" of video's on the MIGHTY SUZUKI DR 650 - I do NOT have a "GO-PRO" (YET) but If you care to do so, maybe at least check out 1 called "11 reasons I hate my DR 650" - mostly tounge in cheek - so to speak...
OBI- WAN my man, Iv'e seen the vid! Thanks a lot for showing me your channel I can't wait to see some more DR vids. i'll definitely be contacting you if i have any questions on the bike.
for jumpstarting you should jump on the rear of the seat when you let the clutch out, give it some throttle and immediately when it sparks pull the clutch in again. then its actually pretty easy to jumpstart the DR. the only time i had to do it my problem was a bad battery too and for the most time my ignition wasnt on xD
That bike looks like tons of fun. I would love to get my hands on one myself. Was the shifting a lot better than the iron Estie? I see you are rocking some new gloves. They look very comfortable.
Hey Silvie! Thanks for watchin! The shifting on the iron is very deliberate. There is always a big clunk when shifting on the Iron which isn't a bad thing. but when shifting on the DR, I barely used any force to shift gears. it was so easy. the Iron is more responsive on the throttle though, which makes sense. i love these gloves! i got them for a great value. they look great, and they are VERY comfy. thanks for noticing. Any updates on your iron?
No updates Estie. I want to put some new grips and exhaust but maybe next summer. The riding season is coming to an end here in NJ. Hey have you seen the "love jugs" for cooling down the engine? I think its an awesome upgrade for the air cooled engines.
5'7" 31" inseam, very doable on stock suspension in the "high" setting and I'm short as hell. Not flat but good enough. Probably the best stock bike for us short riders that still has half decent clearance. I wouldn't lower it, the 10.5 inches is already pretty low. I've only test rode 2013 models forward so not sure if the seat height is the same across all years.

Great motorcycle I have one about five years and use it daily
Dont find the link to your previous test of the 650.🤔
I never allow anyone to ride my bike.
WOW! Great vid. Estie! I cant believe how brave you were taking the iron on that rough patch in the back! Tell steve those wheelies were SICK!
Haha It was alot of fun thanks for watching Matt!

Any time Amigo - Ride that "Iron" safely !!!
I hear ya Obi-Wan! Cant beat the DR650's versatility

2nd gear is key, at least on my bike. 1st just likes to lock the tire
The only selling point of this bike is the engine.
Another thing that Suzuki messed with it is the ridiculous small gas tank.
That dr still has stock exhaust.
yes, everyting is stock except for the seat, the windscreen, the skid plate, and there was a little gearing adjustment
I miss mine...
well just get another one Spartan

@@Estietries the drs I've test rode all shift so smoooooth
How tall are you guys, I'm 5,10 and would love a Dr but I want to flat foot it at lights
I'm about 5foot9 and I can't 100% flat foot it, but I am very comfortable at lights. Steve is at least 6 feet and im sure that he can flat foot it.
6'1 and I can fit on mine. Mine is a 2004. Drove it a few times last year. Really good bike. I'm gonna go for a drive on mine again soon.
