The captain in that small boat was really good. He was never in trouble with stuffings or anything. He could have gotten all the way out no problem
The skills of the skipper can make up for a lot of the shortcomings of the boat.
Meanwhile these guys driving 60 foot 2 million dollar boats will look like they’re fighting death

I’ve owned Whalers for years. I’ve been in some real bad weather but the boats always performed excellently. Of course knowing how to handle a boat in rough conditions is paramount.

Those small whalers are fantastic handling rough conditions. The Captain was doing a fine job too. I also think that the tops on those to enhance the wave handling capabilities.
As far as the small boats go I would choose a Boston Whaler. They are just tough little boats.

Seasoned captain, motor trimmed up and good throttle control in a Whaler will git er done. Personally a PFD for all on board.
He handled that little Whaler like a BOSS! The man at the helm is very experienced, and this video was recorded to prove, it's not the boat that's dangerous. The captain is! He barely put a slash into his cockpit of his 13ft Whaler while the bigger boats are soaking everyone on board.
No jackets in that condition seas. Sigh and their parents will want to sue someone when they die. Regards from east Tennessee.

Im no boat captain, I just was jetskiing a few times. I guess you have to read every wave and go with the waves. This is what the cpt in the small boat does very well. If you go into the waves with the nose trimmed down, then you fill the boat with water.
He thought a small craft advisory meant they advise you to use your small craft

About time for a call to the FAA:
Sustained flight over moving vehicles can happen in the case of a car racing or motocross event or if you want to take photos of a local state park. Water vehicles such as boats, kayaks, and surfboards are also considered under this category.
All Category 1, 2, or 3 drones can do sustained operations over moving vehicles. The only relevant qualifier is that it is done inside a restricted area and that the people on board the vehicles are on notice. This is a lot easier for isolated events but is virtually impossible when done over a busy highway.

13' 4" for 16 yrs . Drainplug on tether removed , dont get sideways & keep eyes peeled & try to ride the trouth. Now you got deck cool for bare feet and you will be alright

It appears to me that some captains suffers from small craft warning syndrome although he turned around and came back he shouldn't of tried it in the first place. God bless and as always be safe.

I lived most of my life in the Great Lakes area. I live in Florida now. What is the key to riding big chop in Florida? When coming out of an inlet like this I mean.

According to international maritime law, Boston Whalers aren't subject to small craft advisories!
