Good job shifting those gears. You run pretty consistent times with a manual car. If you can get your 60 ft under a 2.0 that will really knock off the time on the big end. I run a consistent 1.9 60 ft. I run my Nitto DRs at 18 lbs seems to work good for me in my 81 Trans Am pace car with 3.08 gears. Most racers I know with street cars and DRs run under 20 psi. Just make sure to air them up before driving home. Switching to DRs a few years ago was the biggest bang for the buck for me. Just had to get the air pressure right along with heating them up really good before the launch. If i launched at 2000 rpm or higher it would blow em away every time. but under she would hook and go. The key will be the 60-foot times. My suggestion would be to experiment air pressures. Do a few on a country road and look at the contact patch. The key with a manual is to be able to launch as hard as you can without too much losing traction. With traction, it is possible to get 60-foot times in the 1.9s. Low 13s in lousy DA isn't bad. At sea level, this is a mid 12 second car.
Yea might have to play with it a bit. Usually kept my nittos around 26, I’ll have to see what these MTs seem to like. This cam definitely likes launching at a higher rpm than my stock one did.
@@TrackPackRT - That makes sense. Although cams, often raise midrange and high RPM power, they often sacrifice a little down low. For what it's worth, I get maximum traction when I inflate the Mickey Thompsons to 22 psi. I wouldn't go much lower than that. Radial tires don't provide any more traction if you continue to decrease the pressure. You may find that if you decrease air pressure and raise launch RPM, you should be able to get 1.9 60-foots. Whatever you decrease the time at the 60-foot is double on the ET at the end of the quarter mile.

Great stuff, I can't wait to bring my 6.1 out to the track next spring, also working on a 5.7 build, how high RPM do you rev out to with the HRT2? I think I'm leaning towards it, but would like more RPM than stock
@@captainboose8788 I think mine is set to 6200. You can definitely take advantage of the extra rpm with the new cam as the engine just breathes so much better on the top end.

Yea, looking back on it after the fact I think he was just focusing on his launch and trying to go for a best possible time. I’m guessing he was really trying to hit 11s because he was close. Not worrying about the race so much as his et. It was a pro tree, so it’s really easy to mess up your launch because there’s such little time before it goes green. The math still doesn’t quite add up for me like et difference minus reaction time difference vs how many tenths I beat him by, but honestly he has so much extra boost hitting that Kia he would’ve beat me by a fair bit unless I really tree’d him.

Yes they were catching up but I crossed the line first. One race which I have a against a modded LS1 camaro Z28. He ran a 13.15 @114 and I ran a 13.3 @101. I posted the time slip in the video. Go to 4.00 in the video to see the race if you want to see it. look at the bottom of the time slip and you will see RIGHT lane first. I gapped a Kia big time at a stop light. Honda Ridgeline vs. some turn brown & door. Yea! For some reason Kia’s vehicles have no interest in my SC’d RT. Go figure. Get thatshifter. Maybe a solid .03 off your time.
Nice! I was actually surprised how much power he was putting out, stock I know they’re pretty comparable to a stock RT. Chatting with him after he had the boost cranked way higher than stock. I can’t remember exactly what he said but I feel like it was in the 20 psi range. I love that shifter! My buddy Matt let me drive his a bunch and I’m pretty sold on it, they’re great!

Nice run. Love the excitement! The Singer is likely running 17-19 psi. Not too much. Current Stinger / G70 fast time is 10.7@128mph
Ha, we’re already at elevation and had pretty bad air all year so just being able to sneak into the 12s again was nice. Got a little excited haha 😅
I’ve got the same car and setup as you, and I eliminated my wheel hop with a camber kit.

Sorry missed this comment somehow, right now I’m revving to 3500 min off the line to launch. That seems to be the sweet spot in a manual.

The 365hp KIA Stinger GT twin turbo runs high 12's stock. The 5.7 RT is no match stock for stock. You'd have to get the Scatpack.
