This is how to make automatic sugar cane farm 1.21 for both Java and the bedrock edition of Minecraft so this works for everyone and uses no observers! This Minecraft sugar cane farm is perfect for both servers and your single-player world to allow you to easily collect paper/ sugar cane!

I forgot to mention this but make sure to put glass or another block on the ends to stop Sugar Cane from falling out!

It works well on Bedrock 1.21.1.03, and I got the rails connected at the ends. So it only takes one minecart

It only get 60 sugar cane in an hour so id recommend extending the farm
unebearably slow, honestly a waste of time (it would be more effective to hand farm sugar cane)
If your rails keep connect to each other and you can get them to go parallel, you can rotate the entire farm by 90 degrees so that they will be placed on a different direction.

it only works on bedrock dont put "java and bedrock" if it only works on 1 ty for wasting my time

This doesn't work on bedrock cz the redstone on bedrock is different than java
I mean it’s working fine for me and I play on Xbox
meanwhile it does not even worked on java edition
it worked when i tested on my creative but doesn't work on my survival i did all the steps right i think

As of 08/07/24 on bedrock edition, everything works perfectly if you follow instructions.

Tried on Java 1.21.1 but the sugar cane doesn't make it into the hoppers or chest. Just lays in the center between the pistons. Still useful as long as I go back every so often and collect, but realistically I'll probably seek a different design that doesn't require my attention. Thanks for the video!

Just build it in the same version. but i use Mud instead of Dirt. and it works perfect. Mud is a little bit smaller than dirt.

Everything works like it should except for the hoppers; the minecarts pick up all the sugarcane but then it doesn't get transferred from the minecarts to the hoppers to the chest. I lined up all my rails and hoppers exactly like how they are in the video, so I don't understand what I'm doing wrong.
this happens to me too and i dont know the fix
since grass is a full block, the hopper can't pick it up. If you use mud, since it isnt a full block, the hopper minecarts can pick it up. You may find it easier to use hoppers that are connected to eachother to funnel the sugarcane to a chest. It should probably work more efficiently.

Only some of the sugar cane is actually cut with the pistons?
It all is cut, sometimes a piece will slip through if it grows right after one next to it got cut but when it grows to the third layer it gets cut
@@RealJayden So the ones that have no piston directly infront of it get cut when they grow to 3 blocks high?
@@JamezGamez1 If you built the farm like it is in the video all the sugarcane has a piston on either the second or third layer
The crops are growing, but they aren't getting chopped down. Is there a reason for this, or a way to fix it?
I figured it out. If the tick speed is set too high, the farm won't be able to keep up with how fast the crops are growing. 💯
Ok. When I am placing the rails at the ends they keep turning. What am I doing wrong?

the ends of the rails should be powered rails so they dont connect

my sugarcane farm works pretty good except for the fact that the hopper minecarts dont transfer the sugarcane to my chest. it will pick it up just not drop it off. i was wondering if theres a fix to that
You prolly did it wrong because mine works
Maybe try restarting the whole Minecart system

you could add instead of minecarts, use seperate hoppers that funnel into eachother (shift and right click on a chest or another hopper with a hopper for it to funnel) keep funneling all the hoppers into eachother then the last hopper funnels into the chest, problem solved! (hopefully)
hopper minecarts cant put items into chests. hoppers can pull items out from them and put them into chests if the hopper is directly below the hopper minecart tho
Does this work on a server? I tried building it on a server Im in and for some reason the pistons dont activate when I place blocks over the torches. the torches just light up and turn off
Does the server have plugins? Some servers have protection plugins that allow players to lock chests, furnaces and certain redstone blocks like pistons. If it's LWC, make sure to unlock the pistons

It must be a consul thing that it doesn’t work my Redstone rails just want to connect with each other at either end I can’t get parallel lines

@@MrJazzyboy1234 I was having this issue just now as well what I ended up doing is extending one side 1 more rail longer than placing the other side than breaking the rail that I extended and they didn’t connect side to side

Do you have a dirt block on both ends? If you have other blocks like glass for example the carts won’t bounce off the wall. Also ensure the powered rails are against the short side walls

i have an op creeper farm but i need a good sugar cane farm to keep up with the gunpowder i know that one of these wont do but before i make more how good are they
i want to know if this farm is good for about half a double chest per hour. (how much gunpowder i make)
Each one of these that you make will produce about a stack and a half of sugarcane an hour, this farm however is super easily expandable to increase that number

what bout making water flowing to hopper instead of rails?
That way causes some of the sugarcane to fall directing on the plant and not into the water which can affect the rates

you could be using activator rails instead of redstone ones

After finishing the farm, I find that no sugar cane is being collected unless I manually collect it. Do you know why?
Make sure your rail or hopper in minecart is placed correctly. Or maybe your minecart is not moving. Reply to me so i can maybe tech you to fix it
@@johngaming2011 I use a different cane farm but im facing the same problem. The hoppers won't collect the cane. The hoppers are placed below the sugar canes which are placed on a dirt block. How can I fix this?

idk why but when i built this farm, ( i followed it step by step ) every time the sugar cane grows it doesnt fall into the hopper and i hear like a lava sound, as if it's being burnt. im not sure what it is so could someone please tell me what i did wrong?

u have to connect the hoppers to each other leading to the chest or its js finna stay in the minecart and the lava noise is the torches going out

also, grass is a full block so the hoppers have a harder time collecting it, using mud might help since it isnt a full block, i use mud on my sugarcane farm that i made, and it works very good.

Well depends on your pc that how much load it can handle.
it could, but sugar cane grows relatively slowely, so all the other pistons will usually be pushing nothing, (that will change when it grows) but what im saying is that sugar cane doesnt grow all at once, same with every other crop, but there should be a constant flow of sugarcane

Great video but one problem I don't see the carts picking up the sugar after being destroyed by the pistons, does it take time for the carts to collect the sugar cane or does the sugar can despawn for other people?

The block you shift click on is where the hopper leads into, make sure each hopper is leading into the right block
If the hopper is receiving power it locks and won’t accept any items, check your redstone

Every time I try to place the rails down, they just keep connecting to one another and ruining the rail system. Am I doing something wrong?
I would do one row first, and then the other row, but make sure the corners aren’t connecting with rails and make sure their powered rails

Work on just one row first and then do the second row, otherwise sometimes they connect. You can also try shift clicking the rail down facing the direction you want it to go
Build the first track a little longer and then build the 2nd. Clip off the extra when done.

Check if the hoppers are linked to the chest and eachother.

There should be a short line pointing towards the chest. If not break the hopper, and shift+place it while facing the chest. That should fix it.
Question: If i make this underground how do I set up the light so its the most efficient ? Glowstone dont seem to work

why are some of the pistons for 2 block high sugar cane but others are for 3 blocks?
The restore torch you place powers up the block it is placed on which activates 3 pistons. Two on the sides (top layer) and one under (2nd block layer)

Cane sits on the dirt after being cut, does not fall through.
It needs to cart to come along and pick it up, make sure your carts are activated below

it is not falling below the dirt level, it accumulates on the surface, meaning it have to collect it manually
It is cost friendly but the cane, in the middle ones dont get taken out, because theres no piston in the middle
