I know this was a long time ago and you probably won’t see it but I really appreciate the video. I have accumulated a ton of vintage beads and costume jewelry and have been very beginner style working on creating some new out of old. These kids of specific tutorials with really awesome video are helpful and I appreciate it scraps
I have been watching a lot of these videos and wanted to tell you that you have done a great job explaining the steps necessary and the video photography is great. Thank you for the video!
Before you issued the challenge I was thinking I would use 3 or 5 black beads and then three or five white beads, alternating around the necklace in a color block fashion.
What gauge wire should I use? I am just getting started. Will be making my very first necklace. Can you please tell me what type of striging wire and climp beads and other stuff I need to buy to get started?
What kind of wire is this? I got "jewelry wire" but was confused by all the gauge choices. I picked 20 gauge at a guess, but it's too stiff to do some of this.
This was so helpful. Thank you!!! Did I miss it our can you tell me what was the gauge of your jewelers wire? I want to use a pure copper wire because it is a protective energy conductor. Thanks so much!!!
Hi there! The wire that we used in this project is Medium Soft Flex which is .019". It's a stainless steel nylon coated jewelry wire which is designed to be flexible and strong. I don't believe you'll have a good end result using solid copper wire for this project.
Help! I use memory wire but I find it hard to shape it into a necklace shape, then I feel elastic isn’t strong enough sometimes i cut some wire and use it as a bar necklace then add a chain...
Hi Abby!! Great video. I always learn from you. I have a request. Could you please do a video on how to make a set of "bubble" jewelery?! Necklace, bracelet and earrings. That would be awesome!! Thank you. ☯️☮️💜✌️🙏🌫️
That really depends on your materials and your market. Check out some craft fairs, boutiques, and art fairs in your area if you plan on selling locally. Make sure you factor in your time and expertise.
Abbi Berta Hi Abbi I don’t string beads I do hand beaded wire links, can you tell me what the best way is to keep the pendants from spinning around back to front, front to back??? Any help would be awesome, Thanks Abbi 💜
There are a couple of different reasons why that could be happening. Usually the culprit is that the pendant is top heavy or that the chain is a bit too fine for the length of the necklace. Using heavier chains for longer necklaces is a good rule or thumb. Without seeing the materials you’re working with, those are just my guesses. Feel free to send pics of what you’re using to The Bead Place’s FB page and we can maybe help you troubleshoot.

I love the black lava beads! Very elegant :)
They’re a great look! Thanks for watching!
I personally like the white beads...a combination of both might look nice also.
Great idea!
i would use a mixed pattern with majority lava stone and a few white beads (not many at all) spaced strategically.
I would use them both--two white, then one black, then two white, etc.
Before you issued the challenge I was thinking I would use 3 or 5 black beads and then three or five white beads, alternating around the necklace in a color block fashion.
I prefer the black lava beads

What gauge wire did you use? My pendants often wear through the wire and break it.
What gauge wire should I use?

Abbi Berta Thank you for that information. Then nylon coated stainless steel it is.
Help! I use memory wire but I find it hard to shape it into a necklace shape, then I feel elastic isn’t strong enough sometimes i cut some wire and use it as a bar necklace then add a chain...
I'd attatch a clasp via a jump ring to the pendant so you could attatch it to either. 👍 (If I had to pick one, it'd be the black one.)
Great idea!
New sub here. Thank you for this video...your necklace was beautiful
I would do the white...
Good pick! It’s definitely our most popular seller!
The light green
Great video. What size and brand of jewelry wire did you use? It seems very stiff and sturdy.
