Great question Aleta! We have made them hammered and not hammered. In both cases, they kept their shape. Here's the how-to on our blog: runningwithsisters.com/gemstone-necklace/ Cheers, Jennifer & Kitty
Thanks Kathleen! We love buying beads at gem shows but we haven't been to one in the past year. So we have been buying a lot from FireMountainGems.com and Etsy. one suggestion when making the S hooks if you wire Harden them it will make them a little stronger and less likely to come apart just give them a little tap with a rubber or Rawhide mallet or if you like the design of a textured look with a chasing hammer
This is such a perfect tutorial. It doesn't seem so difficult. I can't wait to try this!
Thanks Mya! It's not hard. Go for it!

Love the S connectors. Will the 20 gauge wire hold it’s shape or does it need hammered to work harden it? The necklace is beautiful.
