Absolutely correct on the comfort mode on the X3 M40i. It actually is still fun to drive it in Comfort, also a good mode when you're trying to arrive somewhere quietly without the exhaust note. The interesting thing I find is that in the sport or sport plus, the exhaust and engine sound is so much fun, I find myself turning the music down to listen to the engine and exhaust instead. I've owned many brands, this has been the most fun suv I've owned ever. Ofcourse the X3M would take it to another level but I find the X3 M40i is a better daily with it's less stiffer suspension and probably a little better road behavior in normal traffic.

I love this car. B58 is the best part of this car and if i am on a road trip I can get 30mpg on highway in eco pro mode. This mild hybrid really helps

Great POV video. Really enjoy the camera positioning because I almost feel like I am in the driver’s seat.

I really liked your video.. just the calmness and relaxed way you present it. I am a BMW fan and own several of them , so I was a bit confused with the Hyundai Genesis comparison alongside X3 M40i. Hyundai engine and transmissions are HORRIBLE and I don’t think Hyundai’s should be mentioned the same sentence as BMW’s

I enjoyed the video and the good information, however, I kept waiting to see the BMW X3 M40i POV Drive on Snowy Road. This was driving on a dry road near snow. It's an all-wheel drive SUV with winter tires on it. Why didn't you show how it performs on a snowy road and mentioned in the title? It's an important factor when deciding on a purchase for many parts of the country.

I like this new type of more relaxed presentation, you avoid the annoying music and hyperactive demeanor of so many reviewers. Thank you to the Everyday Driver team.

The mild hybrid doesn't add anything to the powertrain, even though it is connected. The 48V battery really is there to help the electronics in the car run cleaner as well as help the start/stop. Having owned a 2020 M40i and a 2022 M40i and pushing both of them very hard, the 48V battery isn't pushing the car any harder than previously years. The thing about the single turbo is yes, you get max torque at 1850rpm. Depending on the altitude youre driving, this will make a difference in response and feel down low. Having owned an F97, same thing with twin turbo - altitude changes a lot. The S58 also has a very different powerband.
I digress; the 48V mild hybrid system, even though it shows up in the dash as "eco boost" isn't adding anything to your spirited driving.

How did you come up with that? You dragy timed them? I have a M40i with the hybrid, and the hybrid does make a difference when accelerating, especially off rolls. It gets you a better time per Dragy testing, when your battery is actually charged, and it adds to the way the car moves when you give it gas = better roll acceleration times. I'd suggest doing more research first before stating information that can be very misleading.

@@DMCarReviews it’s in the owners manual as well as asking questions to BMW techs. As I’ve been told and researched myself, the mild hybrid battery only goes towards powering electronics. Both draggy times from a 2021 M40i and my current 22 are identical

@@DMCarReviews plus how are you confirming it IS adding to the powertrain? Have you owned a pre-LCI model? Or are you just seeing “eco boost” show up in the dash and experiencing a perceived boost compared to the pre-LCI models?

Thats not driving on snowy road as the title says. Expected to see you at least drive a few minutes in actual snow because this is an AWD SUV after all and some of us do take them off the beaten path from time to time. However all I got from this video was just driving on asphalt.
    Good camera angle though...
