      All in all AGCO bought this from CAT in 2000 ish,,, was still using CAT parts to build these up thru 2009 I believe, the bottom three models used the C15 and the top two the C18 engines, a C18 can do 800hp easily,,, There's no CAT in them now and Im with you, this new tech 16.2 MAN can probably go through the roof... think this is the first gen of some coming changes, it really needs the new Gen 6 cab and electronics... Curious if they're limited with the current Vario transmission and have a new one coming for the higher HP???
      If you've ever watched Wester Truck and Tractor Repair channel he was fixing some electronic three point issues on an old CAT with a C15, had 16,800 hrs no engine rebuild but was beginning to need one, impressive because they run rippers on them non stop,,, California guys...

    I wonder if the 700hp+ horsepower barrier hasn’t been crossed because of drivetrain durability concerns/issues. That’s a lot of power in a power shift or Cvt transmission. Although the mining industry has much higher horsepower and payload equipment…. Be interesting to hear an ag equipment engineers take.

    • @paulpence8895

      @Wayne Creek Land and Cattle Co. Yes, the problem is going to be size and weight,,, D11's are mining dozers, never leave the mine, D10's are,,,, kinda transportable, 140k lbs or 240k lbs right... once you get to Mikes "wana be HP" he has a huge weight problem, hell he has a huge weight problem NOW,,, hahahaha... So what weight will stick over 800/900 hp to the ground, and he isnt going to drive it 8 hrs down the highway,,, theres a limit here for sure, and I think they're at it if you're not transporting it on a truck/trailor with ridiculous permits, US or CA...
      There's a California channel they just use an D11 to RIP old orchard groves,,, insane the permits to move the tractor, blade is off they just RIP like 3-4M deep in old Orchards... Cali is odd too, just gona say that...
      Oh and a D11 is a 35L, not a 15L LOL, think the 3508 weighs 17k alone... different class of power for sure...

    Don’t know if those are you fields you were driving past the whole time but man it looks like crops are doing well. Even with just how hot and dry it she been up there well how hot and dry it she been everywhere. Insurance company’s are gonna be hurting this year with how much money they will be paying out to farmers for loss of crops due to drought this year. I have been lucky here this year because I have plenty of water for all my crop and fields. Hell I’ve got 18 wells 32 ponds and over 6** miles of ditches to water all the fields. For real Mike can we take some time to talk about just how freakin awesome Ashtyn is you really do have an amazing wife Mike I know your the kind of guy that would never take her for granted but she is freakin the greatest oh and she is very pretty too the full package:D lol. Haha always good to keep rubbers in the tractor;). Not Positive but I would I say the reason that they don’t have a bigger horsepower option is because then they can release one later in the future also just fuel mileage emissions all that good stuff but also if you see ya know 720 horsepower you probably want to be at like 65,000lbs+. Hope crops are growing well good you have the best harvest you have ever had this year mike would love to see you get a 610 Versatile Delta Track to try out also would love to see you run a Claas Lexion 8900 with the Honey Bee 60ft header don’t think I will ever get a different combine ever again even though ours only run 35ft headers still the fastest and just most manly combine I've ever had! Best of luck to you and Ashtyn Mike you ever wanna come hangout at our lake cabin on Lake Crescent just give me a call haha!

    AGCO makes a wheeled 4wd , it’s not painted like a Fendt , but could be and I’m sure it wouldn’t be hard to make a quad track. Had a friend that had one on dirt pans , it would outpull the Deere’s. This was a few years ago it had a Cat 18 liter . He got rid of it because service was to far away, but they liked it.

    10:25 I think the reason in this case is the Vario transmission. It currently is rated for the power of the 1167. They might have to make the transmission beefier for more power. I hope they will do, otherwise this would be wasted potential.

    • @stevenlang9849
      @stevenlang9849 2 роки тому +2

      Cooling is the biggest problem
      Cooling is the limiting factor in almost app big tractors.
      Your average big tractors will use 20% of its fuel just for the fan at the front.
      Increase power and you'll increase heat generation; not linear, but exponentially.
      They'd need a different, more efficient way of cooling the engines.
      Just increasing power would mean (if we assume they somehow find the room to fit bigger fans/higher rpm fans) overheating, exponentially more fuel consumption, more wear and tear on components, like the transmission you mentioned, and less efficient power usage.
      The Fendt 1050 for example is the most efficient big tractor on the market at the moment in terms of how much of its power he brings to the ground. Increasing power, while staying the same weight would also drop that efficiency down.
      So more power is just ... Super inefficient in every possible way

    The reason for the hp cap is after treatment. I had a conversation with a paccar engineer from the tech center and he said the higher the horsepower, the harder it is to keep the after treatment from face plugging and over loading it. I asked him if they were going to increase the MX13 to a 15 liter to compete with the cummins ISX15 and his response was “HELL NO”! And then he explained. I’d bet Fendt and the other manufacturers are in the same rationale.

      It no problem, Fendt uses the same 16,2 L MAN engine in their combine harvester, it puts out 790 hp there compared to the 670 hp the same engine produce in the MT 1167.
      Both MAN and Liebherr makes even larger Diesel engines that nearly produce 1000 hp and are used in the large combine’s and forage harvesters from Deere, Fendt, Claas, Krone.

    The request for bigger horse power is needed! Wake up manufacturers!
    Bigger drills/ sectional control/ bigger carts require high horse power to pull and high horse power to run the hydraulics, ie 200 plus. The biggest tractors are On the limit now!!

    • @ytfan3815
      @ytfan3815 3 роки тому +1

      Let's assume there will be a 800 hp tractor within five years that will pull that 100' drill and 1300 bu cart, farmers then ask for a 120' with 1500 bu cart which probably need a 900+ hp tractor, it's the never ending story in farming .
      The limit will be around 700hp, because equipment will be come way to heavy and causes to much damage on asphalt/tarmac roads during movements from field to field.

    Mike i have a question. You have empty(no crop land) behind the farm. Why didn't you stick a drill on the 1167 and see its pulling power on that land rather than the long winded trial with the daegleman

    Your love/hate relationship with the 1050 just kills me... I'll still stand by the statement I made months ago, its a tractor designed for the European market, single fat $ss whatever size variable pressure those giant tires are they run on their 8' wide crappy country roads, not for your use case 21' wide triples, bla, bla, bla... they dont live where there is no one for a 100 km of your house... they don't farm "sections". Mike gets and "F" for use case scenario... Its a bad $ss tractor, still holds the record for highest HP Fixed Frame Tractor,,, has no purpose in SW Saskatchewan for your use case... Buy your wifey a Quad Trak already...
