In order not to break the bank, I'm using an Akai rack sampler, which I can either sequence from Ableton or an MPC One. How would you go about chopping samples with this setup? At the moment I'm thinking - sample into both MPC and rack sampler, figure out the chops on the MPC, then chop again on the rack sampler for sequencing.
Which rack sampler? Chopping is actually fast on rack samplers once you learn how to do it, plus they are GREAT at manipulating samples. I would chop on the rackmount, sequence with the ONE.
S3200. I'm quite a fan of being able to chop on-the-fly using the 16 pads on the One. It's pretty much the only thing I miss on the rack sampler. Other than that, yes it's super capable at sample manipulation. I'll try using the One as only a sequencer, thanks for sharing your view!
