    I knew the moment I saw the title of this video that you were going to get a type of hate from some overheads. I will say my thing that new mpc keys are not an xl and ASR-10 in one for many reasons. In my opinion is not really about one is better than the other it's just they are different. I just love me some 'boom bap',and I like the fact you found a workaround to make music. People with a creative, experimental mindset are the ones who actually make good music. Checking in from the Boogie Down Bronx, DJ, crate digger, sound designer, and yes my first sampler was my MIGHTY Ensoniq ASR10. It's all about making music, not having an opinion nor being a whole princess trying to discourage someone else online. Just make music and let me know when your LP is on some vinyl or CD..

      My first sampler was a classic MPC2000, then xl, then EPS16+, then Akai MPC60, then MPC3000 then S950. So being around the block with samplers. Got an MPC X because I was curious, and tbh I sold it 'cause I got nothing more than what I'd get out of Logic, Cubase or ProTools. Tbh I don't like sequencing on those older machines any more 'cause the computer is so powerful. I don't see why if you've got a laptop and MIDI controller why you'd really need one of these newer MPC's but hey each to their own

      @@blakasmurf Just can't handle someone actually having an opinion that differs, huh? lol. What sounds good is a matter of taste. I prefer clean and pristine it can always be manipulated. And, ALL CAPS defeats your argument. 😆

    • @blakasmurf
      @blakasmurf 3 місяці тому +2

      @@Daring2Win I disagree on one point, you get ZERO ability to use the actual analog parts of the machine to manipulate your sound like you did back in the day. The rest of your points are completely valid, though. You can get "that sound" other ways. When you say greatest though just understand that is subjective. To me the greatest setup is having these old samplers to hand but then having Pro Tools or Logic or Ableton to do everything else. Hell you could even use the MPC software as a plugin if you'd like. I just don't see them as any more than glorified MIDI pads since the MPC4000

      @@clocksyn You'll get so much more functionality out of this than you would an ASR-10 so don't even trip. What the ASR had going for it most was the sound. It kinda changed your sample, sometimes in ways I didn't even like. But it was warm, and punchy. A pain to sample and chop in stereo though. So make music you'll be happy with this. Just I doubt it's gonna have the same pleasing tonal shaping of the older pieces, that were using the highest end chips they could afford at the time. I think now things have gotten very clinical sounding I think you'll get a similar sound out of any DAW that you'd get on the new MPC's like the X etc and that's not a bad thing. You'll have space to add effects and shape the sound the way you want!

    LOL "one of the best instruments ever made" proceeds to not be able to hook up the SAMPLER to the most heavily sampled source (record player)
    what a joke. this mpc didnt even come with RCA i/o LOL. let alone a second usb on the back for a USB TURNTABLE.......
    as long as you enjoy it though young god. this machine is just a midi keyboard with a bigger screen..
    4 q links? i mean what is this supposed to be? i can pull out my ren from 2012 and can chop samples in 2 seconds because it has so many q links.
    as i said man, if youre enjoying it thats dope. but lowkey this machine is pathetic on akais part. id get this over the key 63 but thats not saying much. the mpc live 2 with a cheap 20 dollar midi keyboard is still lightyears ahead of this red toy you got here
