What I don't like about indian armoured ellies running amok this fast, is that they run amok under normal missle fire (instead of just taking damage, and dying). In patch 14 you would need flaming volleys to get this result, and it would require more micro management to defend against them. Also you would get a huge damage trade-off with flaming volleys. Also it would require more massed fire to defend against them, which again has a huge trade-off as in they will not be able to support other engagements. The way that it is now, is that an uncommited unit that is facing them will run them amok. In patch 15 this basically means any spearmen, any sword infantry, peltast, melee or jav cav. Slingers to a lesser extent, but with their higher ap and rate of fire, still dangerous. I don't feel that a 2000+ talent unit needs so much babysitting, and as they are armoured they should be able to take more archer/slinger fire before running amok. I feel they kinda made flaming/whistling volleys obsolete with the morale buffs, and then this...
What I even like less is that the same strategy does NOT work against chariots. Which made them incredibly more cost effective, and they would have just run straight through to your archers... which is weird if you think about it, as last time I checked, the horses are not armored, and do not have 1 inch thick skin. Most missile fire seems to miss (except for javelins) a high percentage of the time. I haven't tested yet with precision shot and flaming shot, this might be key in killing them faster.
Heir, would love to see a major battle (40 units) of pre-marian romans in their 3 battle lines, to see if you could recreate a battle from history. maybe against pike phalanx line. Attack hastati with pila, retire through gaps of Princeps then attack princeps, retire, then attack Triarii.
Pikes are an invisible wall 7:05 - 7:08 shows that They should be animated better, where units try to bash the pike away with their shield to break through the pike line but cant (because there's so many pikes) so are held up. But when they hit a non shield flank or from straight behind they should be devastating meat grinders.
Try recording and rendering in the Hz also I wouldn't lower or raise your voice too much in editing, one last thing to try is to put your mic into a mono setting if it has one and uncheck any sound canceling features
isnt a single mic always mono? I didnt hear any artifacts here, allthough I'm guessing "robot-noises" refers to sampling-errors. maybe recorded in a different samplerate than the video is in or smth
Can you try and do a strategy like that heir? With offensive pikes in this patch. I think he really used them well offensively and I don't really ever see that
I haven't watched the whole vid. But if it was in the start, then he did not kill them, they just ran them over, they will rise again. Elephants can only kill there own units if they run amok.
Tbh the elephants did seem abit pathetic, like abit too pathetic ... that was like one small volley and another medium volley, does seem a little week, but im not having a go, they just too abit toooo pathetic :L but it wasn't great to put them into the center ...
140 was a loss, but why? It's not like he avoids putting up losses, he just uploads the battles he has. I don't want him to not put up some of his winning battles just because I want to see an even loss/win balance. He's a good player, so he'll win most of them, nothing wrong with that
no, i know, there's nothing wrong with that, that's not what i was saying. i don't even want to see a 50 50 arrangement, i just think that seeing lost battles illustrates some interesting lessons. if heir hasn't lost enough battles to post more, i believe and am fine with that.
If the opponet had levy pikemen instead he could have invested into more mobile cav which would have killed the archers while your cav was pinned by the elite cav I don't think he even needed the elephant, basically dominate the mobility, kill the skirmishers, slow down the fleeing swords with cav and then poke them down
It looked like he had you until his pike line broke up and then misused his elephants. Good turn around. His composition should have been more varied though.
I'd like to see Elephants and chariots do more damage to friendly units. I'm not a fan of people just casually charging them through their own lines. Might make people use a bit more skill when using them
with one serious mistake (the wrong use of the elephants) lost the battle....this is one example between a lot that prove that the macedonians the seleucids and the other armies which use phallanxes lost the battles against rome...because of the wrong use of their troops....whatever they called...cavalry,elephants or infantry men...also the seleucid army was smaller even f it had elephants they did not took part in the battle...
I really wish Heir would upload online battles more frequently instead of his campaigns. While its no fault to Heir, I find his campaign videos so boring, especially when compared to his online videos. It's only because after a while watching someone steam roll the AI just gets boring and I find myself watching those videos less and less frequently. If I do watch those videos I usually only skip to the battles since that is when he usually talks about tactics and specific units.
He should have brought levvy pikes instead of thorax against rome who has fairly weak skirmishers because a levvy pike is doing pretty much as good as a thorax one. In my opinion you should never spend your money on expensive pikes really
Idk, I really liked how quickly this guy pushed forward with his. Like Heir said, if he got more cheap cav instead of the azats he could've got to his skirmishers, and if he brought up the elephants on a flank he could've had a decent chance at getting them into that huge blob of retreating romans without taking too much fire.
Why do you keep calling your legionaries "legions"? You started doing this at the release of the Emperor edition and I don't know why. This isn't a mispronunciation, which I don't care about. It's just the wrong use of the word "legion," which is more akin to the word "army" or "division."
Your assurance that you aren't the heir of Skynet actually left me 'less' convinced.
I never really noticed any robot voice, to be perfectly honest

I like it when you pause the videos and give a play-by-play.
With the elephants and pikes, that pretty mutch what happened IRL when the Romans and Seleucids first fought their big battle haha. Love it
It seems to be triggered by the loading screen at the end of the match. No idea why those two things would be related though.
I think when fighting Pike armies it's better to disable formation attack, it helps getting through the pikes
I like how you charged that Cataphract general with your own general, lol I thought I heard a YOLO on that charge.
How can I change the music!
I had a similiar problem with my videos. It may be due to the codecs you are rendering with.
LOL those elephants trying to walk at the beginning.
Your voice its fine, its even built its own persona. :)

No robot voice for me so I guess it solves itself over time. In which case it's probably youtube's fault?
i dont hear any robot voice.... never mind, i just hear it as im writing this lol
a good strategy i've used with elephants use it as a distraction to get your pikes and swords into position
Can you pls have a Q&A?
That was quick running the elephants a muck

HeirofSkynet that was a good one.
How did you get the original Rome:Total War music in your game?
Once I saw the guy kill his own men with his elephants I knew he lost... -_- noob move dude noob move.....
I haven't watched the whole vid. But if it was in the start, then he did not kill them, they just ran them over, they will rise again. Elephants can only kill there own units if they run amok.
+Egeparken DK thats what happened they ran amok
Andrea Giallombardo oh, ok.
do you you use the classic rome sound track while playing?
I don't mind your voice, just show me some brilliant tactics.
Nice video heir:-)
Tbh the elephants did seem abit pathetic, like abit too pathetic ... that was like one small volley and another medium volley, does seem a little week, but im not having a go, they just too abit toooo pathetic :L but it wasn't great to put them into the center ...
hey heir i was wondering could you maybe post a loss or 2, as u haven't posted one in a little while. correct me if I'm wrong. great vid!

Hey heir could you please use my roman build from during the 2v2 livestream and take a look at their nerfing? Nice vid no robot gg
It looked like he had you until his pike line broke up and then misused his elephants. Good turn around. His composition should have been more varied though.
what has happened with the Macedon campaign??
It continues..?
It will come back he's just putting other content
Wich I like keep up the good work
It's continuing but he has to keep putting MP and Octavian content up too.
@Prixmus225
how is it even possible? You actually were killed by the patriot with an american flag.
-sips cup of tea- Because I'm as an American would say "too awesome to die" ;)
What version of the game is this? Also is it modded?
Thanks
1:45 did he just kill his own troops lol

Music's a tad loud
terminator total war is here
Ahhh it's the Total Terminator
01:46 did he just kill his own men?
Heir of sky net is back again
Heir mentioned me in a video! I feel like a schoolgirl having a first crush.
Heir can i clone you and make u my personal spokes person?
Poor opponent, he can't fight against the Skynet it's not fair !!!
The first time I've seen rome win in an hier video....
Elephants take more finesse and skill. Makes it so you can't just rely on your elephants to win you the battle.
Heir of Skynet
Dats good XD
Heir, i think it would be cool to see you playing an online live game with facecam, give it a thought ;)
But if you are the Heir of Skynet, well I'd have a hard time trusting Skynet as a rule..
with one serious mistake (the wrong use of the elephants) lost the battle....this is one example between a lot that prove that the macedonians the seleucids and the other armies which use phallanxes lost the battles against rome...because of the wrong use of their troops....whatever they called...cavalry,elephants or infantry men...also the seleucid army was smaller even f it had elephants they did not took part in the battle...
Selucid peltast and silver
i see POM bring spammy pike builds like that, ive no idea how he wins with them
He plays people who are worse than he is.
Pike are OP when you don't know you're supposed to go around them.
Robot Heir is best Heir.

This is a comment on Roman shock cavalry: Socii Equites Extrodinarii are not extraordinary!

Are you a coward and you are running just to get behind he’s pikes ? But if he makes a pike box you are going to cry
