I have been watching this channel since the first rome total war 2 multiplayer battles from middle. Now I’m in college and I just can’t help but smile seeing a return. Thank heir of Carthage.
this channel still exist? Bro i remember when i was 7 yo (now im 19) and was watching lionheart and heirofcarthage for Rome 2 campaigns , pixelated apollo for mount and blade and 2j sketches 🤣. I cant believe that you still make videos like that . And i cant believe people still watch this. Thats really great bruh ,good job 1000 years channels approved by the ministry of culture 👌
13:06 - After screaming this is Bactria, they coax their Bactrian camels into kicking the Spartans down into the pit. 😅 All kidding aside, this was great stuff. Always love seeing Rome 2 come back to the channel. 🙂
Heir, can i just say how NICE it is to see some Rome 2 Field battles, you really get to see how each faction plays. No offence to Pixilated Apollo but constantly seeing SIEGE battles gets OLD quick since they are pretty similar in how they play out.
PA's fanbase mainly believes field battles are to boring so his fanbase likes what they like and i enjoy his battle replays as well so its good 2 sub 2 both
"This is Bactria" 😂 Love the Rome 2 content 👍 Might have some battles with my buddy and send you the replays. We're NOT that skilled by golly we have fun.
I know its hard to keep your overview during a battle like this but oh man this was a mess! I saw so many missed opportunities and messy flanking. Said with all the love and understanding for how this can go.
I made a balance mod that increase hoplites' bonus vs infantries to 15 while in phalanx, but the formation will reduce their bonus vs large by 10 and lower their morale by 35%. This change makes them do very well against infantries and can beat even almost all babarian swords units head on but if the hoplites get flanked, they will suffer from morale penalty and get routed. Cavalries are quite good at this since the hoplite lost +10 vs cav so a single charge from the back would hurt them.
1) Hop-lee-tays. 2) Hoplites are very much not a very strong infantry, in reality. They are citizen infantry, drilled to remain in formation and keep shield up for their neighbour; they had little in the way of great personal skill or technique or exceptional gear. Even the Lacedaemonians of Sparta with their lifelong military training focused primarily on the formation fighting aspect, keeping firm, disciplined, and not breaking ranks, rather than individual prowess. As such, their stat block is fairly accurate to the roles that they actually played on the battlefield.
Morning Heir, Really enjoying the Rome II content of late so thanks for that. I've had some great campaigns with Bactria over the years, But you need to familiarize yourself with their strengths & weaknesses a bit more than the usual Greek factions. Which is exactly what this player appears to have done (obviously lol)
That was a fun game, thanks all 15:20 Considering how he died, I'm not sure his wife still wants to see the body... lmao Also aside from javelin, how well does missile weapons work against elephants?
people are trained to use swords, while 99% of spearmen outside of professional units like spartan hoplites and macedonian hypaspist were just citizens and freemen looking to become citizens that were given a long stick with a piece of bronze beaten into a sharp point attached to both sides of it along with a big piece of bronze beaten into a circle with paint and melted animal fat on it and if you wasnt greek you most likely just had a big slab of wood with paint on it instead swordsmen were generally better in this time period at combat simply because most people wielding swords as a main weapon in battle werent randoms

@@randomguy6152 Fair enough. But i swear they all blur together after a while, and their is usually ALWAYS one person playing Rome.

I would love to see some Rise of the Republic or Empire Divided content
Don't stop uploading these
Great Rome 2 videos Heir!
Hey heir will you bring the rome 2 campaign back ?
Have you considered a sera bellum campaign for Rome 2?
Bactria was always my favourite faction for campaigns.
Man they’re awesome. So much variety in army comp and they had a good start because all you have to do is expand west
Yay rome 2

Love Rome 2, just started a new campaign!
geek out Greeks well ordered and equipped with proper leadership can go places
Nice
That was a fun game, thanks all

Also aside from javelin, how well does missile weapons work against elephants?
They work pretty well, especially in causing them to run amok. Javelins are far superior in damage though…
@@mattiskasemo8919 I rarely fought elephants in Total War in general, but does damage matter when it comes to making them go frenzy?
@@Hell_O7 sorry for late answer, but yes, i believe it has some effect
Hey bud, love the Rome 2 videos! I have a question, do you cover siege battles by chance?
I heard and read Bacteria vs Greece.
Heir if you like historically accurate content give a shot to Ryse: son of Rome
It's hilarious
wth did I go back in time?
Wait is James Baktria and Greek Iraklis Sparta? So did James win this round?
Greek Iraklis was Bactria and James was Sparta.

Is greek iraklis back? Oh boy
I really thought Sparta would win at some point.
