I was bleaching and toning my own hair platinum blonde for 3 years. Decided to start growing my hair out a few months ago, but I hate the harsh transition between the platinum and 2-3 inch brown roots I have. I didn't know what to do and I didn't want to spend a fortune at the salon for color corrections. I still have some lightener and developer. I think this is what I should do!
How did it go for you?
Omg thank you so much for this video! I’ve been stressing about my touch ups bc I wrecked them last time 🙈 your hair and color is beautiful!!!
Love the weaving for the back of your head technique, so helpful!
I am so lucky, you have my exact hair type!! It's wonderful to have someone who is such a fantastic expert at every aspect, cut, colour, curl and style who can show me exactly how to do everything myself and save a small fortune! So glad to find your gem of a channel, thanks for posting and for such fantastic instructions.
Ditto!!!!
Looks beautiful! Even before the toner, wow!❤️
Love your hair! I m going to attempt this today!
Thank you so much for posting this. Everywhere decent around me charges $200+ for baby lights on my fine, thin, shoulder length hair and it never ends up turning out exactly how I want :( I have experience doing my hair at home and I’ve really been wanting to try touching my roots up myself, so I’m grateful you made this tutorial! You make it look easy. I might have to try it this week.
Hey sorry I missed this earlier! Did you end up trying it out on yourself? Curious how it turned out
Love it, so pretty! Coming from a hairstylist myself, I’m always doing my hair myself at home too. Between Clients all day then running home to kids. No time for myself in the salon chair! Love the back area weave tip. Hardest part! You rock!
Yey! I loved your past video similar to this this is sooo good!!
I LOVE your hair! Gorgeous and so glad I ran across your channel!
What a beautiful result thank you for showing us
You make it looks soooooo EASY👍😊. You did a nice job🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺
YES!! Last time I did mine, I painted FORWARD for the back sections and it was SO much easier. I also have a mirror on my back wall - so like that picture behind you in my bathroom, is another mirror I hung... it takes some getting used to because everything is flipped, but it makes it easier to see back there. I'm doing my hair again sometime this week and I'm going to try going side to side like you did. I also prefer more blonde in the front so I'm going to try that technique you did at the very front/bang area (thicker in the front and more fine in the back).
This is the most informative, simple and easy and uncomplicated hair tutorial I ve seen
Yes this is the video I've been looking for!!❤
Thank you so much! Was looking for this kind of explanation! And YOU did it perfect! Loved your video! Thank you! 😊
Epic!! Color neatness everything. jaw dropped when you did the back! Thanks for sharing you give me hope 😭
Aw thank you!!!
My jaw also dropped when you did the back! 😄 i was so excited to have a new method and tried to explain it to my husband - he didn't understand...🤣
Love your hair!! Excited about the new technique in the back! Cute video!!
Thank you
Love the color! And the makeup!
I’ve always highlighted my own hair but with a cap. This was my first time using foils and although not perfect I didn’t mess up either.... thanks!
Are you a hairdresser? You did it so professional! X absolutely love 😍 it xx
'll
Exactly what I was looking for!! Thank you!!
Amazing and beautiful! Many thanks for this video!
Always so gorgeous!
What a fantastic job!! I can not believe you do all this by yourself!. Lol 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 very well done. Thanks for sharing!
Great video! I did my highlights a couple of weeks ago and I got some hot spots….ugh ! So hard to do it by myself. I will try this technique next time. Thank you 😊

This is beautiful!! ❤
Wow you have TALENT!

Super stunning - wow! Thank you!
Love this icy blonde, this would go great with my salt & pepper hair I'm trying to grow out but in my area its hard to find a good colorist 😢. Luv, Luv it so much, very beautiful!
this looks incredible good :)
Gorgeous!
You make is seem so easy, I tried this and could not for some reason. Great technique.
Love your blonde hair!!
Gorgeous!! I'm going to do this with a deep red. 👍🏻
I absolutely love this, this saved me
Lavender Hamilton oh yay I’m glad it was helpful!
Beautiful!
Thats it Im going in with the bleach again 🤣🤣 I have about 7 inches of growth now so Im a little terriffied Im gonna mess up but the back forward technique has me sOlD ! Thank you for this inspiration lovely!! 💙
Super talented i can't do this but I'm going to try ❣️
beautiful colour
Love your hair!!!!!
Thanks. I always do mine and it turns out pretty much like this. I haven’t done a lot in about 8yrs now so this helped me refresh my memory. I might make a video for beginners w no professional training. An old friend I had taught me how to do foils. I can’t pay people to do my hair they alway make it yellow they mess it up and make look stupid. Ugh so frustrating to have to my own waist long hair.
Fantastic tutorial
Thank you!
Patricia
Thank you so much for this. This video is by far the best one I've seen! I feel confident I can do this. It definitely helps that your roots are the same color as mine!!
Impressive! Thank you for sharing! You make foiling on yourself look easy lol. I do my own balayage and have longer hair so I struggle lol
Lovely video ! thank you
YEAH!!! I love your ash and I also love L'Ange and have been wanting to try their toning shampoo out!!! My new favorite sub!!!!!
Aw thanks so much!! You will love the toning shampoo it’s so good!
@@JamiSwanBeauty So are you mixing the L'Ange Creme Brulee Keratin Conditioner and L'Ange Violet shampoo together??
AH! I just have to comment again - I have been doing my own foil highlights for about 2 years now with the Loreal Frost and Design stuff (I know I know) because it comes with the bleach AND the toner (I've just always been too afraid to go buy the toner, developer and lightener myself from Sally's or Amazon)... I have been watching videos for the same amount of time - about two years and after watching THIS, I finally feel comfortable and will pick up the same products you've mentioned...(my natural color is same as yours and similar-ish texture). I've heard really good things about the Lange products, so will be picking that up too. THANK YOU!!!!
Wow I’m shocked how gods this turned out!
Love it!! I need to do this to mine.
Thanks!! Do it!!! 😃🤘🏼
Looks amazing! 💋xx
Thank you! your so pretty
Thank you! This is the easiest tutorial I have found so far. I have spent over $1000 trying to get my hair the way I want it by professionals and am going to try myself to save money and learn how to get it how I really want.
Thank you
Really pretty
You're D best seriously
Aw thanks so much!!! Glad you liked it!!
Great video!!
Love the lighter coloring technique in front. Perfect tutorial, so easy to follow. Including where you messed up last time was so helpful so I didn't make same mistake! Hair turned out great with little effort! Thank you!!
How to blend it with out adding shadow color since I’m in darker root growth any way
When you add the volume developer 20 and 40 to the matrix you dont specify oz's, measurement of the volume developer. Please let me know I have porous hair too what do you recommend?
Fantastic video! Helped me understand much more... *Subbed*
Oh I’m glad!!! And thanks for the sub ❤️
You make it look so easy and I love your hair!! I can't wait to try this technique. I did my own foils for the other day, not bad for a first attempt and will know what to do for next time :)
Jen Wright aw thanks so much for the kind words and good work on doing your own foils!!
Always fun to switch up the foil pattern especially if you’re like me and don’t stray to far from blonde hahaha it’s nice to get subtle change from how to place the foils in your hair each time ☺️
Just wanted to
Ask what developer and toner we can use if we can only go to Sally’s and not have access to Mateix?
Did you mix 20 and 40 to get 30? Love the result!
This looks awesome! Did you do the very back as well?
Beautiful job but what can I do (to toner) if I have some grey hair (most near my ears)?
hey! Just followed this last night and did my hair. came out AMAZING!! it was definitely hard to see what I was doing on myself but it came out great for the circumstances. thank you!
also I have super super thick hair so i was definitely sweating lol
@@canahata omg I’m gonna try it so nervous 😬 have u bleached it before by yourself
I'm glad I came across this! I recently allowed my red hair to fully fade so that I can start going to a blonder shade...I went to the salon and let them know that I have grey hair and to eliminate the biweekly coloring, I would like to go blonde so that I can stretch it out a couple more weeks...well...somehow I ended up with a very dark brown 'shadow root' -ugh- with beautifull dimensional blonde hair everywhere else. I NEED to blend this out a bit since it counteracts my end goal of lower maintenance and enjoying a new blonde look. :) Plus, I just feel very awkward with this dark brown root area....Your video is GREAT!
Lorrie Hess hmm wonder why they decided to go with a dark shadow root and not just highlight???
Your idea is definitely the way to go for lower maintenance I just always tell people to do it gradual and with good reconstructing products as you go to maintain the health of your hair as you go through the process of lightening your hair. I’d definitely suggest a good purple shampoo too to cut any warmth or brass between highlighting 😁Good luck with the process change us always fun! 👍🏼
What a lovely pretty girl and great video ❤️
Great job
Can I do this on my grey hair? I also have a white streak in the front. My hair used to be a level 5
Que hermoso!!!!♥️♥️♥️
You may have just saved my life!🤗
Looks beautiful! Which color did you use for toner?
Thank you so so much for sharing! Looks like I will be doing an at home high light with my mother in law helping me, and this video has helped me so much with what to buy and how to use the products. Also the foil techniques are so great! Thanks for sharing so much!!
Misty Wilson oh awesome!!! Glad it was helpful! How did the highlights turn out?
Do you think it’s best to do on pre flat ironed hair?
Could we use a pull thru cap instead of foil?
omg! I wish I can do this to my own hair! got Rheumatiod Arthritis pretty good and hands and shoulders. But LOVE LOVE this look! Would love to know how to do this on the cheap... much love from Vancouver, BC
Thanks! ❤️. Maybe a friend would be willing to help ya out?
Hi Jami, I love your color my hair used to be light as yours but I decided to dye it to medium brown. Now I really miss my blonde. I want to balayage my hair which developer percentage would you recommend for someone who is a level 6?
As a newbie after the lighting why the toner? To add color to the lightened areas?
I love your hair
Very good!
Your hair looks fantastic but I'd like to know what brand and style your eyelashes please?!!!!
Do you think this would work if you have root... and then another redish brown color from a previous balayage type look and then the blonde? I’m not sure how the redish brown will lighten compared to the root
What do you use to tone your blonde!! So do you just use the shampoo and mask
I actally TOTALLY love this - the style, the color, everything and I started using the L'Ange products too...... I just cannot get the blonde too come up banana yellow with 20 - it is just orange and I have tried all the purple shampoos it just pulls way to purple......
She mixed 20 40 half and half
Great video easy awesome
Thank you also for posting. I also have the same situation as Diana posted before me, pay over 200 and just not even going to so into what I have experienced, I have decided I can do my own hair and it will turn out pretty decent. I think I will do pretty much exactly how you did it just wanted to ask about the only thing holding me back is it is hard for me to do the zig zag thing Ive even bought a special comb so can you suggest anything id really appreciate it
Magnifique 🌺😇 j'adore ❤️🙋
What toner is on the blonde? It's gorgeous
Where do you purchase these items?
Pretty color. We used to call "money piece" a "face framing" highlight. Kind of trend proof, tho sometimes chunkier or subtle
List of products that you recommended at the end?? I don't see.them here.in comments!! Thanks so much!!!
What brand toner did you use? Was demi or permanent? I love the result, nice job.
Gifted Lady!
