I don't have superhero fatigue...
I have shitty story telling fatigue
They're one and the same.
@@Jabberstax No they're not. There can be an element of sameness in a lot of cases but that could be said for any genre or sub-genre, especially in cases like Sony that want to treat it like an assembly line.
For all of the flaws of a movie like Eternals for instance it was at least mostly original.

Is not super hero fatigue is bad writing fatigue!
Exactly. And somehow he thinks this is different, LMAO
I agree
The people in Hollywood are very egotistical they can’t accept they made something bad so they have to imagine they gave us too much of what we like instead
@@snarkyjayit IS different. Super hero fatigue is the idea that the sole reason these don’t do well is that its a super hero film. Bad writing is bad writing, super hero or not. These are separate things. They CAN overlap, but taken on their own terms, they are different things.
@@metroid767 Literally what are you on about. My point is he thinks this movie, which looks poorly written, is going to be any different.
He just doesn’t wanna be part of the blame when another Sony Spider movie fails. 😂

Don't deny "Thirsty Jay", embrace it!😂
Have to fight it 😭
I'm almost surprised she didn't say she was cravin' "Aaron Taylor's Johnson". 🤦🏾♂️
You just had to go there, didn't you?😂
@@alexandrenicolaslonz3007 For the greater good! 🫡
Ahahahaha!!!
You win the internet.
Hey wait a minute! She DID say she was cravin' Aaron Taylor J...
Oh.
I almost spit out my water when you said "radioactive lions blood"
Dude, how do you think I felt watching the trailer 😂
Pretty sure the comic Kraven, just drank a potion
@@doriangray6985 Yup. Also, an excellent hunter.
On bright side, there is always room for improvement.
Granted, dog shit seems to be a goal in Hollywood.
@@snarkyjay>>> This reminds me of Kathleen Kennedy saying -- DURING A VIDEO INTERVIEW -- that there was NO REFERENCE MATERIAL to base the DISNEY STAR WARS prequel movies on...🤦♂️
1:55 She-Hulk: "I got bled on by my radioactive cousin."
4:13 Batwoman: _shhh_
It’s honestly the writing for the projects, not the superhero fatigue. Sony’s writing when it comes to superhero films has not always been the best. It’s all over the place. I’ll probably still see Kraven. Anyways, this was an incredible video, SnarkyJay! Keep up the spectacular work!
I had no idea he played Kick-Ass until someone else pointed it out.
I'm old enough to remember when fans thought Michael Keaton would bomb as Bruce Wayne/Batman because he was known as a comedic actor. Take a look at his acceptance speech from the 1990 People's Choice Awards, and you'll catch a glimpse of what he went through when he got the role. Thirty-five years later, his contribution to the cinematic mythos of the character is still cherished.
AND I remember when Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man committed the unforgivable sin of having genetic web shooters, losing a crucial aspect of his fallible - and therefore, relatable - character. And yet, his Spider-Man set the stage as Hollywood special effects finally caught up to the imagination us true believers had in the 1970s.
So, I'm not willing to write off Kraven until I see the film for myself. And I think it's clear that Sony cannot market this as another DEI prop: the focus has to be on character development, not flawless folks who "just need to find the power within." And that, I think, can only work to Johnson's advantage.
Also, the script was written by Richard Wenk, who is known for crafting The Equalizer film series, and Art Marcum & Matt Holloway, the dynamic duo behind Punisher: War Zone and some other film called...Iron Man?!
Yes, Morbius was bad, The Marvels was a cosmic atrocity, and Madam Web was the cinematic abomination to end all cinematic abominations, but I think that with those experienced writers Kraven will actually work.
Also, I love Tom Hardy as that "little punk ass bitch" Eddie Brock. I think the Lethal Protector is hilarious and awesome. And I don't care who knows it.
I'm old enough to remember thinking Michael Keaton would bomb as Batman. Actually my thinking was probably not even more complicated that "WTF!?!?!?"
Boy was I wrong. That was the last movie I saw before going into training to learn how to resolve conflicts for the government.
Good times.
@@prader1330 I knew from Clean & Sober that Keaton could more than comedy. When I first learned that Batman was coming out, I just wanted a realistic interpretation, not the campy Adam West/Burt Ward version. Nicholson's line in the trailer, "If anyone else calls you Beast, I'll rip their lungs out," sold it for me.
@@HaymesMichaelC
The 2000's series was probably more "realistic" (at least so far as a Batman movie can get), but the Keaton/Nicholson version was, and still is, the best. I still remember thinking the video for Prince's "Batdance" was amazing. Of course what I had just gone through at the time set a very low bar for entertainment.
Actually... holy shit... THAT'S when I got into comic books. Somehow one of the other guys had a copy of X-Men with Wolverine nailed to an "X" courtesy of the Reavers. Believe it or not I really wasn't into them growing up- but send me to a desolate place and suddenly "art looks good". lol
@@prader1330 I agree that Nolan's Batman trilogy was very well done, even with regards to realism. The suspension of disbelief was credible enough to be convincing. Batman Begins was the last film I saw my father, who had retired by that time and moved to another state; he passed twelve years ago. And I remember when Bruce curled Ra's up while hanging off the mountain. Bale's scream of agonized determination was so convincing to me in the moment that I learned over and whispered my father, "Wow! He's strong!" The best comic book movies are the ones that make you forget you're watching a comic book movie.
I first got into X-Men in the mid-80s, collecting and borrowing comics from friends who had miraculously managed to get some of the very first issues - AND an original print of issue X-Men 94. We couldn't stop talking about it. I had first printings of the Wolverine mini-series by Claremont & Miller and, later, ORIGIN - "the greatest story never told." Up until then we all thought, as Marvel once did, that it would ruin the mythos of the character, but the writing and the art and the story was, and is, phenomenal.
I also had the Man of Steel series by John Byrne, who actually did press interviews for the release. It was unheard of in the 1980s.
The only thing that still surprises me about that time, even after all these years, was GI Joe being the first comic book series to be advertised on television. I hunted every comic book store I could find for GI Joe issue 12. One day, I found it while I was with my friend and, fool that I am, let him buy it. I don't think I've ever forgiven myself for that.
What a time to be alive, eh?
"Nobody likes em" meanwhile shows Morbius with a *70%* audience approval score 😆 that's my boy😊
It's crazy that Sony decided to make this movie without Spider-Man considering that they literally had a scene in the trailer where Kraven can be seen interacting with Rhino. I honestly don't understand how Sony can make a Sinister Six film without Spider-Man to face off against them.
Regarding Taylor-Johnson "looks like he's gonna be our next James Bond." Don't believe any reports until EON (Barbara Broccoli & Michael Wilson) officially announce it. Historically, EON announces the director first and the Bond film title before the new actor.
Have a nice day Snarky Jay!
They must be waiting to see whether Kraven succeeds or flops.😅
It really is insane how bad Sony is at doing these Sinister 6 movies. I saw Madame Web in a reaction video, and wow, I have no idea what the point even was. It was like the origin story, that comes before the origin story.
So awful.
"It was like the origin story, that comes before the origin story."
Pretty much explains how her powers work.
I bet the post credit scene is gonna be Kraven staring at a picture of Spiderman, saying: "I found my next prey."
Ok, I'm actually going to offer a counter-point on this one. Yes, Madame Web was a steaming pile of garbage, but that steaming pile of garbage was brought to us by the writers who brought us Morbius, Gods of Egypt, and the 2017 Power Rangers and the director who had very little big budget film experience. Kraven is being brought to us by the writers of Iron Man and The Equalizer and is being directed by the guy who brought us Triple Frontier.
Now, I'm not saying it's going to be great, but the lineage here is definitely *better* than what we got with Madame Web. It's got a chance at not being Madame Web levels of garbage. So, don't get your hopes up too high, but you can have a little hope that Kraven will offer more than merely abs.
It's not a Kraven movie. He doesn't have a Russian accent and he's the protagonist of the film. This is Kraven in name only. Doesn't matter who wrote or directed it. It has already failed.
@@darkoale3299 My point is merely: it could be a bad *Kraven* movie, but it could still be a good movie.
I guess there's only one way to find out! :D
I actually liked the trailer, not as a Kraven the Hunter movie , but as a good old fashion action movie…which I Will probably watch one lazy Sunday afternoon with some popcorn & beer after the NFL season is over 🖖🏾
Another amazing reaction Snarkyjay ❤❤😁😁.
How much do you want to bet that Sony is going to push him maybe as the Next Bond? I would imagine that the word that he got the job, officially will come out when Kraven comes out. One interesting thing too, Johnson was in the Godzilla movie with Cranson playing his wife, Elizabeth Olson, the Scarlet Witch. Godzilla was done before Ultron.
as far as Im concerned Russell Crowe plays Kraven accent and all. ATJ plays Lion Boy.
THANKS FOR SHARING.. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK...
You bet!
All the movies are low stakes, formulaic, and uninspired, they suffer from the same thing that plagues Mission Impossible movies
nobody has superhero movie fatigue, we have garbage fatigue.
It's a shame these actors aren't just free to say, "It was the paycheck."
I love Aaron Taylor Johnson I personally think he’s a great actor but superhero fatigue is real imo because look at something like the Mcu you literally have to watch every project to understand what’s happening and yes it’s connected universe but at the same time you could make stand alone movies or shows that doesn’t necessarily impact the whole Mcu and tie into the next project. Also it’s not only Superhero fatigue it’s terrible writing and having these force agendas in these movies like the whole point of watching a movie is too escape reality.
Great points there!
@@snarkyjay Thank you Jay appreciate it
As a new watcher, I've enjoy most of your videos. Keep up the great work.
One thing though; Aaron Taylor Johnson's true introduction into the MCU were Kick-Ass & Kick-Ass 2. 😉
While based on a Marvel Comics character, the 2 Kick Ass movies are not part of the MCU. His 1st appearance was actually in a mid-credits scene in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Happy Tuesday Jay!!
Scott Adkins would be a perfect Kraven IMO
I actually forgot this movie was a thing until you mentioned it. After watching the trailer again, I can't wait to wipe it from my memory once more.
They gave him Catwoman's movie origin...which was so inspiring the first time. 😼
Not exactly. They gave him Catman's origin.
ah yes, lion man, my favorite comic book character
Agreed , a spidey connection is sperated
He was really violent in Bullet train a good movie with Brad Pitt and Sandra Bullock. I think he can pull this off.
Seeing as he's likely going to be James Bond for the next 10 years, he probably won't feel too bad if this movie flops...
I don't have super hero fatigue, I have crappy movie fatigue.
Yeah, he looked at the character, and the script... and then the size of the paycheck and he found there was a good reason to do this film. This was a story that needed to be told.
ÀTJ is a stud. He can do action,he can do comedy. He's got that macho guy thing that is making a come back.
0:27 , can we acknowledge that not only are these spiderman villain movies not spiderman movies, but also weirdly not villain movies.
I hate how ATJ only had one movie appearance as Quicksilver rather than multiple where he could’ve grown and evolved alongside the S Tier Evan Peters Quicksilver with Fox
Happy Tuesday Jay!
You too Kaden!
The character of Kraven the Hunter as the lead of a movie is ridiculous, but these are the times we're living in. Let's just hope the "female gaze" for pretty boy Kraven is enough to bring in the cash to justify this movie's existence. I'll skip it.
What's next, Channing Tatum as a young intrepid journalist stud: *J. Jonah Jameson?!🕷*
One actor(Matthew Macfadyen) said it quite best, the only reason why many actors are doing these films is merely they are steady paycheck. In fact this views well reflected by many actors and Sydney Sweeny's recent comments seems to back this up right down to why Sean Connery quit acting.
Truth is most actors would rather rather be doing something that's that's not superhero-related but are merely using the leverage it gives their careers i.e. financial or landing roles they really want.
Also speaking of speaking of personally glad Sarah Michelle Gellar hasn't yet sold out the superhero hype train/trap yet. I love her her work and I would hate to see her devalue her career
VENOM had the writer from 50 SHADES OF GREY (who is also directing THE LAST DANCE)
MORBIUS had the writers from GODS OF EGYPT (Who are also behind MADAME WEB)
And KRAVEN THE HUNTER has the writers from TRANSFORMERS: THE LAST KNIGHT
AVI ARAD ruined everything again
And he isn't even involved in MADAME WEB
But he is behind BORDERLANDS though
Sony is for sure washing money for a 90s crime boss!!
I love your no nonsense straight stick it to horrible creators. I guess it’s coming to the point where we should all start making and producing good stories. I think you’re beautiful. Stay snarky snarkyJay.
🎶 Kravenman, Kravenman, does whatever a radioactive lion can..🎵...
LMFAO
I'm kind of optimistic about this movie
Mainly the darker tone and violence
Powers from a radioactive lion? Even Chat GPT can't believe how lame that is.
*points to MCU She-Hulk*
Sony should have cast Scott Adkins as Kraven, and they should have him be the villain of a Spider-Man movie instead of this rubbish solo film.
People don't tend to get sick of things they like so superhero fatigue as a concept is mostly bullshit.
The Venom movies we're okay but could have been better if there were rated R
Of course he'd say that because his is the next in line to be an epic failure. These celebrities already got paid...why do they care if the movie fails?! There is nothing unique about a C list marvel character.
He’ll talk trash until the movie bombs, then he’ll say, let me be Bond now and that’ll be in jeopardy.
I want Cavill for Bond, tbh.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Have a wonderful day and stay Snarky 🫶
Thanks, you too!
So you have a big Arron thirst. Did I mention I look like him?
AS for Kraven he's actually a Spidey villian who could carry his own movie. A man who wants to test his skills so he hunts animals like the big game hunters of old which gets him into trouble with the authorities and local poachers. Then he runs across a shaman who tells him he will one day have many battles with the son of Anansi, and teaches him to brew the jungle potions that enhance his abilities. He takes out the local poachers so the authorities allow him to leave the country headed to New York.
But this is modern screen writing. Bleed on by a radioactive lion? Yeah I'm starting to have doubts.
I have bad movie fatigue.
Invincible and The Boys are still killing it. Original concepts with good writing always rise to the top.
its weird thinking that kickass is now James bond's age I suppose the hot abs helped 😂😂😁
The only thing Jay is cravin' is Aaron's abs
Wait a minute. Kraven gets bled on by a radioactive lion in the trailer? Smh. 😂
The only reason I have hope for this movie is because of the director JC Chandor. He directed one of my favorite movies of the 2010s “A Most Violent Year.” He’s a very good filmmaker
Nope this one is gonna fail hard and here's why: This character was killed off over thirty years ago, meaning nobody under thirty knows him. This is another second tier Marvel comics character that nobody asked for. Madame Web was trash yo.
*Sony cashed in on Venom with a budget of $100 million and box office return of 856 million and the sequel as well on a budget of $110 million and box office return of $507 million. Morbius flopped but still broke even the only loss so far is Madame Web. As long as Sony is cashing checks I don’t think they care if people make fun of their movies*
We live in an age of cinema with gems like The Batman and Joker. We also have *cringe* Madam Web.
Hollywood doesn’t respect a character, produce abysmal films that no one wants to see.
Audiences have had enough of bad films. We still want great comic book films.
I'm cautiously optimistic about this one... wasn't a fan of how they did the origin story in the trailer but who knows
boy Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is just going to destory this movie when it comes out. because the problem isn't the writing, director, or superhero fatigue. its just if you choose to stick to the source material and actually have spider-man in it. which this flim is NOT doing at all
An Actor promoting his upcoming movie. other news - water is wet
Why do they keep wasting money? To keep the rights to Spider-Man of course!
Why is this character getting his own movie anyway? Why did Madam Web and her 3 annoying friends get a movie? Why don't Sony just sell the rights to Disney or whoever owns the slaughter rights of our heroes these days? It's a tough time to be a superhero fan. DC or Marvel...
Love your videos
Thank you Debbie!
You are very welcome
Aaron Taylor N
Johnson who stars in Kick-Ass will finally have a badass Marvel's role
Scott Adkins sh😢uld of been Kraven the Hunter!!! I mean BOYKA, was basically Kraven, just in a MMA prison movie.
Good morning Jay another great video I enjoy your rants you make my day better.take care and I'll see you in your next ❤❤❤❤
Thank you for watching Jason!
Anyone suprised Aaron-Taylor Johnson is planned to play as the next James Bond & not Henry Cavill?
Henry would have been great, but I think he will be great too. The list of the final contenders was absolutely insane and anyone of them could have done great.
Audiences are getting smarter. They don't waste their money on trash anymore! I guess this is his nice way of saying the movie is going to be 💩 and not to set expectations 🤷♂️
LOL
I know a lot of people are already writing off Kraven, because of its Sony and they made Morbius and Madame Web.
However, I have good feeling about Kraven.
Honestly the preview looks solid enough.
I love that’s it Rated R, that should be help it tremendously.
Unfortunately i think this will be the case.
Kraven will be a very solid film that will have a low box office performance.
It shouldn’t be Madame Web bad, but it’s a question of can it get to Morbius numbers.
Personally, if I’m Sony and the film gets to WB Flash numbers, I’m calling this movie a hit.
one thing i will never get fatigue from is you jay ❤
Another movie I will not see, hope Sony stops those nonsense. Another point, imagine a man talking about an actress chest like women talk about men's abs... Internet madness.
They do it all the time 🤷🏻♀️ I get objectified for my chest and my body here constantly.
Disney wasted (big shock) Quicksilver. They had the plot device in the same movie to bring him back. They didn't have to make the wounds fatal either. And teasing the other Quicksilver in Wandavision was cruel.
The thing that upsets me the most about Kraven is how they deviated from the classic origin story. A Russian aristocrat. A bloodline of nobility.
The second thing that upsets me is the same thing plaguing all Sony movies; no Spidey. Tell me you're a movie based in Spider lore without having a Spider-Man in it. Then expect us to ENJOY that Spidey based movie without Spidey in it. It's just as insulting as what the MCU is doing to it's fans right now.
Not super-hero movie fatigue; crappy writing and movie fatigue. Disney, Warner and even Sony could put out 2 or 3 movies a year and I would watch them as long as they were good stories and not morality tales of why I'm wrong about something and they're right.
Kraven is my all time favorite Spider-Man villain. I've been waiting and hoping to see him on the big screen. They finally do it and give us this crappy story that doesn't even adhere to the classic story lines. Way to go Sony. Clearly you're taking lessons for whatever group of bozos are doing Marvel and Star Wars right now.
I suspect you are correct about a possible “Bond bounce” in interest for Kraven. Hard to know if Bond fans have any interest in the Sony (sorta) MCU. Doubt it.
What is the official SnarkyJay take on Mr. Bond?
Any chance of a walk up with you in tux, a Walther PPK in your hand? Just wondering😊
I like him in some movies; however, Kraven the Hunter will not do better than Kraven in Spider-Man 2
Was Kraven in Spider-Man 2??

Hey Snarky, would you ever be interested in doing an MCU ranking or something? I'm curious to see what you think of each film.
I skipped a few but I could do that if y’all are interested?
@@snarkyjay That'd be awesome!
4:52 All you need to know about the writing is right there:
Crossbow bolts and arrows don't hit a grown man with enough force to knock him back even an inch.
Ever.
A 1 minute google search can figure that out.
Bad writers write whatever pops into their head with no research, no thought, just stream of consciousness.
The rest of this move won't be any better.
That Michael Jordan skit cracks me up everytime. Perfect timing
Whatever people say, I just need to see Aaron... That's all. 😊
I'd go watch it if I thought it had a snowballs chance. Hell, I'd go watch any superhero film if I thought it was gonna be good. Maybe not on opening weekend any more, but I'd still go.
This looks actually pretty good and I really do want to watch it because it looks like it's rated are and it looks like it's going to be extremely not only R-rated but very violent so I will take that
That lion was in the jungle with Snarky Jay researching ETJ’s abs right before she died
More!!!
Kraven actually caught my attention unlike Madame Web. Think it actually looks good plus Rhino. I liked first Venom, second was ok.(should’ve been better) What I saw of Morbius was let down. As for MCU, loved Age of Ultron but here lately they aren’t doing anything good
I think Sony did a great job finding creative teams for the Spider-Verse and -Home movies, but I’d challenge them to do worse for their stand alone movies.
We are on Marvel fatigue
Will be interested to know what Rusty Crowe's take will be. Just a paycheck perhaps?
sooooo... any snark on that new x-men '97 tho? 🤔
Hey! The second half of the second Venom movie was okay.
I hope this is better than any Sony marvel thing they do because the only real reason I was interested in Madame Web was Isabela Merced she literally one of my celebrity crushes 😹
LMFAOO she’s so fine though. I don’t blame you.
@snarkyjay the cast of madme web should of been a teen high school movie and dakota Johnson would be the young mom. And Peter Parker flash Thompson could be the crush they all fight over
@@Looneyisabum ok 😭
Let's say your favourite meal was lasagna. And you knew 5 restaurants which all made really great lasagna, each of them just a little different from the others. And once a week you went to ONE of those restaurants, and enjoyed that lasagna. Great! You could do that for a long time, maybe forever!
Now let's say, you decide you love lasagna so much, it's the only thing you really want to eat...so five days a week, you chose one of these restaurants for lunch, and from Monday to Friday you eat five slightly different but all very good lasagnas. And you do that...for YEARS and YEARS. Please don't tell me you won't get sick of lasagna. You will. At the very least, you'll enjoy it much less than you used to. You now have, LASAGNA FATIGUE >.<
Back to movies tho, you know another reason why Maverick was such a big film? It was an action film about....warplanes!!! When was the last time you saw an action film about warplanes? Can you even remember? Maybe even the first Top Gun?! That makes the setting itself feel FRESH. There's no 'warplane fatigue', ya feel me?
So yes, IMO there is definitely superhero fatigue out there...there's just been so many of those flicks, meanwhile other settings are just about completely ignored. So just like people got sick of Westerns (well written or not), people are now sick of the same old superhero thing constantly being served up.
BUT does bad writing make it worse, does it make the fatigue come on quicker? Yeah, absolutely, and we've had a ton of that, with more arriving daily.
ONE THE OTHER HAND, would great writing cancel out the superhero fatigue? Yes to degree, but the more fatigue we feel, the more amazing the writing has to be. The MCU started in the early 2000s soooo.....imo most people are pretty fatigued, so the writing has to be fan-effing-tastic now for a superhero film to succeed. I guess the Batman did alright...tho let's face it, Mr.Battinson had quite a lot to do with the box office pull on that one. (Zoe Kravitz in that suit tho, did not hurt at all 😍 )
So it's hard for me to imagine a pure superhero film being *_that_* great these days. It's not impossible, but after the awesome films of the last 15 - 20 years (eg. Winter Soldier) it's very unlikely we'll be getting anything that good anytime soon.
Much more keen to see some sci-fi (yes I enjoyed Dune 1 and 2 (heheheh, sorry Jay :P ), really keen to see what Cavill does with Warhammer 40K, and not sci fi but John Wick has been great too....
So yeah, "Kraven" is no doubt going to suck due to bad writing (and who knows what other problems)...but I'm not raring to see a superhero flick anyway at this stage 🤷♂
Even if the movie is bad, got some delicious eye candy 😂
Well, we will see. Aaron Taylor is a really good actor, and he usually makes good choices when it comes to his career. Looks good to me. I'm curious how did you come up with the name Snarky Jay?
Its a movie that doesnt deserve to exist.
Venom: Enjoyed, think that the movie could had been better by embracing the R rating
Venon 2: absolutely woukd have benefited from it...but overall sucked
Morbius: cut content that would made Milo more relatable and Michael more human with his relationship with the sick girl, and the scenes where obviously should have a lot a blood(someone apparently forgot to edit out the sound effects of blood dripping and there where a lot particularly in the ship) should have been an r rated movie.
Madame(sighes): nope...this trash does not exist.
Kraven: finally an R rating but if they would be more faithful to the source material i belive that it would be the best movie in this list, but noooooo radioactive lion goes raaaaaw.
