Knot geek here. You run that tag through the 2 loops a 2nd time & you got a Springer knot named after a guy named Springer who fought a 216 lb tuna on 100 lb mono for 6 1/2 hrs landed it & it held! If you run that tag through a 3rd time & cinch it right you got a jansek special which I use now on all my hks & rockcod jigs ling cod jigs, it never breaks. You know its tied right when the tag sticks out from main at a 90 degree angle & the knot looks like a little fist (rated at 100% line strength). Great subject matter check out the RP knot for connecting braid to fluoro or mono. If you have a real strong fixed loop knot I need 1 I can use for Tuna (fly lining) thats simple & stronger than the perfection loop which I use for live baiting halibut. Thx. I use the palomar knot on the main line side of my swivels. Works pretty good with 30lb Big Game mono. I like the knot you just showed in this video. My eyes and fingers don’t work well either. It can take me a good minute to just get 4lb test mono to go thru the eye of a #6 hook lol.

Pretty simple looking knot buddy, i wonder if you can loop the tag 2 or 3 times for smaller line. I always use a palomar knot on my swivels and leaders, if thats spelled right. Anyway. Good video and info thanks for sharing
Nope. Just looked the improved clinch know up to make sure. The improve clinch goes threw the eye, twist 5-6 times, threw the line hole at the bottom of the twist, then threw the loop , wet, sinch knot.
Make sure and go around the main line with the loops. Let me know if it works for ya. We where throw 10oz weights in Hawaii from the shore biggest no rolls I have ever tossed
I seen a lot guys in Hawaii use fluro and mono both they recommended for fishing there. Not so much braid. They where using fluro to swivel then.mono to hook.

The first knot I know as the Improved Clinch Knot and the second knot as the Centauri Knot........
It seems to me that it's called figure eight knot.

I been using this know for years. I've caught huge sharks large tarpon never had it fail. Uni knot to braid unbeatable
Looks good . I went straight to crimping on 100 pound leader line . 1.0 crimps .
Use this knot with 30 and 40 lb. mono and fluoro on catfish. No problem at all. Good simple knot. I make three loops instead of two.
I use it alot when using 80-100lb leader line
It a Great knot! Very simple and strong. Do loop the tag 3 time for more security on a small line like that.👍

Seems like a good knot i will try it out whenever I get to use 60+ lbs line I always use 30 lbs
I just use big mono from my swivel down usually it's my leader line. 80-100lb cheap eagle claw from Walmart.

Looks like it would pop off. I am gunna try it though. All your doing is making loops instead of twists.

I use the same knot but loop it 3 times on 50lb mono leader pulled in a 41lb blue on it no problem.
I haven't tried the 3 loop yet but I'm pretty sure that's inevitable.lol
