At 18:04 to left Todd Brewer aka "Dillinger", (right) Ralph Frank aka "Ace" (top left) Mike Brewer (leader) of the Central Park and Wilson chapter. The Brewers' had and another brother named Randy. They had a black member named Buckwheat that was on School and Paulina (Southport) and Hispanic members like Junior and Pablo. I used to go to Roosevelt High School so I met a lot of the Royals in my classes back in 79-80. Thank you for your well documented series. It's hard to believe this gang culture is still going on.

Any history about the C-notes would be interesting as I attended Prosser Vocational in 74-78 with a lot of them
They were in Prosser pretty strong until most of the O/L crew was thrown out in 83'. They held a loose alliance with the Jousters and Gaylords.
My brother and sister attended Prosser during that time. I played little league baseball at Hanson Park. 70s and 80s in Chicago was great but so glad we left the city and moved out in the country.

The 26 and popes didn't like each other way before 1997. The beef existed mostly in the Brighton Park area. But, the beef never led to much. 26 had the kings to worry about and they were literally out numbered 10 to 1.
The south side popes never left the People alliance. They still finball to this day. I'm UVLN myself.

Also, Popes were two separate unaffiliated gangs and later joined together. Southside Popes were a People alliance gang and Northside Popes a folk alliance gang. Different colors and hand signs but eventually they did unite from what I’ve been told by some of their members.

@@mikeforner7797 Yes, Southside used black and white, Northside black and lt blue. The handsign for ss was thumb and index finger touching making a P pointing hand down sideways with other three fingers straight. Ns made the P out of what almost looked like a fork going down but the index finger bent in to touch the middle finger. As far as their alliance today, I don’t know for sure that they are allies but more than one old school member had told me they are.

Simon City Royals were just named Simon City at first, then they merged with Fist City Royals Ashland Royals and then became the Simon City Royals after the merger.
They did get along with BGDs and Insane UnKnowns in the late 60s and early 1970s. Until they called a section leader for the Insane UnKnowns over to meet with them and took his life (it was a setup). The SCRs still had a race-based mindset and SCRs didn’t like losing territory to IUKs moving in (even though they otherwise got along). Their leader Frank Fender was furious about losing ground to Latinos (per the his own guys at the time). The Insane Unknowns were primarily a Hispanic gang and Hispanics moving into the neighborhood was frowned upon. Fender only served 4 years.
That happened in 1976 and the IUK was nicknamed Mr Capone (RIP). Ever since the SCRs and IUKs have been at war and never been a peace since that day.
Man Chicago gangs have a huge history. I used to deal with a dude from a group called ambro. I'm not far from Chicago but don't know much bout their gang history. Some I know but nothing like this. I got a couple homeboys back in the day that was GDs from Chicago but I heard now GDs split into clicks that war with each other. I don't know if that's true. Or if its folks fighting other folks. I just seen an interview with a Gaylord.

SS IPs and NS IPs were two separate nations with different colors, hand signs and alliances. They only later joined together but kept their street politics separate.
The popes never left the People alliance. They still finball to this day.
Southside only, NS IPs are folks with different colors and hand sign.
There was some gangs that united together like you had the United Latino Organization the United Race n the United Neighborhoods all United before the People n Folks alliance

16th is the last peaceful neighborhood in Chicago. A lot of Chicago police officers a lot of Chicago fire department workers a lot of city workers live in that. For the most part it was a working-class area for city workers. You would go to jail for having an open beer in that area. Let alone to have a game operate in Dickerson Park
That was back in the 90s nowadays it's a s******* like the rest of this toxic City. I lived here for 46 years always said I would never leave. Now I can't wait to leave...
