Yes sir, indeed. This boy- musical prodigy is one in a million.
Until recently, I must admit that I did not know this song was from '68(?). I saw a Winwood/Clapton concert video while searching for something inspirational. My father and father in law are fighting for their lives at this moment.
We are blessed with the presence of the Lord in both their hearts. So if we must say goodbye, they will be in His mighty arms. No more pain.

I knew a few that were this good at that age and moved on to something else, a crime but if your basically too lazy to make scores of your music move on. These guys are the rare exceptions that produce and produce exceptional music. When Eric and Steve get together to play now you can see the pure joy in their expressions, that's what it's all about, and it spreads.

I remember listening to this song, in 1972 on WPHD out of Buffalo NY. It was part of an interview program with Slowhand. I remember him saying he was doing a gig in Milwaukee and had some kind of epiphany and felt the spirit move him. His 'Come To Jesus' moment. I think this must have been on Creams last tour? He has written many gospel type songs, might as well rip off that form of black mans music along with the blues. I have been a big fan since The Yard Birds. A great artist, unique and unmatched by anyone, 3-time inductee in RRHOF; pretty, pretty, prettty... good!

    • @thunderwontdalightningwill1062
      @thunderwontdalightningwill1062 6 років тому +5

Brother, cry openly.. cry for joy. For every moment is a miracle, in a sucession of miracles. I found the Lord through music, all in a single night's culmination of decades of experiences, and I finally recognized the path and began walking. The experiences, once began have continued effortlessly. Now I can be with him anytime, thanks to what I've learned in the presence many thousands of friends gathered together in His Name. Those days continue, they certainly didn't end 'Back in the day', and what we learned then still holds true. We come together to remember who and what we are.. little parts of God set here in this paradise so that God can experience himself, and feel that joy in his creation through (all of) us. Isn't it wonderful, brother? Remember! (re... [return], member...[each of us a part of God] There! You've just experienced another miracle! You've remembered that you too are God, all powerful, eternal, creative. Now what will you, what will we ALL do with our remembered status and all that it means? Answer: God is Love, God is All, and if God is All, are WE not part of that all? We are God, we are love....Then get thee out there, and make love happen!
With love from your bro, Lightningwill.

The Hammond organ back in the day made the music so powerful especially if a Leslie speaker was used. Along with this song, Whiter shade of pale would not exist without the Hammond. The organ was designed for church's that wanted the pipe organ sound with a smaller budget. The Leslie speaker spun inside making the sound effects. All the amps during the 60's were tube amplified, and you can't beat that sound either. This is great footage, Thanks for sharing!

The entire band, a powerful force performing this. Though it seems new and different as they were together for such a short time. But, with Winwood's grace on as a keyboard player, Clapton's blues influenced sound, a strong rhythm by Grech and the ultimate of jazz technical spontaneity by Baker, it's such a great sound. 1969 sounds amazing right now.

If you watch "Eric Clapton: Life in 12 Bars (2017)" documentary you will see more details like Mick Jagger in the crowd watching. have never heard another drummer who so thoroughly and magically integrates head-heart-hands & feet in their playing - his quadridextrous approach is unmatched; Ginger Baker was a genre unto himself - Thank you so much Ginger for bringing all this joy to the world ! - If you listeners don’t have them, GB's “Going Back Home” and “Falling Off the Roof”, and "Coward of the County" are great albums, also be sure to listen to "Middle Passage" and "Material Live in Japan"

My favorite Blind Faith song. Yes, one is about wasted and can't find way home. Been there, done that. This one about finally finding a way to live. Jack Lemmon trying to get it together at end of Days of Wine & Roses stuff. AND I like the park, row boats, ducks. In 1969, this looks more relaxing than the crowd disasters of Woodstock or Altamont. Kicked back with Great Band in a Park.

I just watched the Ginger Baker documentary "Beware Mr Baker" and was engrossed for hours. As far as drumming goes he was up there among the gods. A total genius.

T-34 Though that is an important documentary, check out the MI clip. At Musicians Institute in Los Angeles, Ginger is putting on a training lesson. I think you will enjoy it, as it shows Ginger in a positive light. Very happy and cheerful, in a good mood.

Great times. Remember a guitarist who played this song at uni in the 70s. He was a Baha'i and their life purpose was 'to live in the presence of the Lord' by 'knowing, loving & worshiping God,' 'acquiring virtues,' and then making efforts to promote 'the oneness of mankind' and 'an ever-advancing civilization.'

This song is still so relevant today...
I have finally found a way to live
Just like I never could before.
I know that I don't have much to give,
But I can open any door.
    Everybody knows the secret,
    Everybody knows the score.
I have finally found a way to live
In the color of the Lord.
I have finally found a place to live
Just like I never could before.
And I know I don't have much to give,
But soon I'll open any door.
    Everybody knows the secret,
    Everybody knows the score.
I have finally found a place to live
In the presence of the Lord.
In the presence of the Lord.
I have finally found a way to live
Just like I never could before.
And I know I don't have much to give,
But I can open any door.
    Everybody knows the secret,
I said everybody knows the score.
I have finally found a way to live
In the color of the Lord.
In the color of the Lord.
