Amberly was standing with the cameraman which is why he kept giving those soul melting looks to her.. This song makes it easy to forget that there's no drummer, just a freakishly talented beat boxer, Adam Rupp. Adam actually plays drums in addition to several other instruments.

Adam Rupps musicality as a beatboxer is unmatched in my opinion. So nice to hear someone appreciating the subtlety in his performance. Really hoping you react to some more Home Free.

Austin did a fabulous job of this classic song. Loved Percy Sledge's version, but this was taken to another level. I think it is also better than Michael Bolton's version. And remember this was done during quarantine, so the guys weren't even together. The backing harmonies are great, along with Tim's bass. And Adam's vocal percussion is outstanding. Drummers have often commented on just how realistic his sound is. This is why these guys are my favorite a cappella group.

Great reaction! Percy Sledge could only approve. This has become my favorite take on this sultry song -- Austin was made for it. And you've really nailed the talents of Adam Rupp! My only complaint is the fade out ending. Those high notes deserved better!

I think you'd love the technicality they put behind Helplessly Hoping.

This really shows off their harmonies and Austin’s great voice. Love Home Free. I’m always reminded this was a pandemic song. I. Was so glad they were so innovative during that period of time. Hope to see Teddy Swims some time soon,

    Note of interest:
This came out during the lock down. All the backups are recording from their homes all over the country. And it was all combined and recorded together live.

I agree with you… The harmonies are fantastic! It’s more amazing they film this in isolation during Covid that sounds great!! Do you want more of Adam wraps beatboxing listen to his drum solo… It’ll pull you away! The only sound missing in that one is his castanet sound he does in Sea Shanti medley! Austin is singing to his girlfriend Amberley for those amazing face shots in the video! I think Percy sledge would’ve loved this version!! Nice reaction

This was one of Home Free’s songs that I didn’t listen to for a while after I discovered the band. It’s one of those songs right up there with Bohemian Rhapsody that just shouldn’t be messed with. As always, I avoided it for nothing because it’s spectacular! I appreciate reactors like you who teach me something and point out things my ears are not trained to recognize. I was in band in high school so I knew drums could be tuned, but I had never considered that stick height choice made a difference! Thank you!

And to think this was done during lockdown! Adam Rupp, he's beyond amazing! It's always a hoot to watch fans try and "beatbox" with him! They get to laughing, and off the rails they go, the little kids are just precious.

Austin is the only singer in a studio with his then girlfriend ( now wife) Amberly and he is singing to her. This video was done during the lockdown and all the other guys were recording from their make shift studio's at home. I don't know who put it together but it is just magic.

The first time I saw this there were three of Austin's runs on the end and I have no idea what happened to it. I wish they'd put back up! More awesomeness to enjoy!!

Austin killed this! The background vocals and beat boxing are par excellence! Percy Sledge would be so very proud. Adam is a championship beat boxer. Love your reaction! ♥

This was filmed during Covid. I've always loved the late Percy Sledge's version (not so much Michael Bolton's). The writer of the song had been through a bad break-up and wrote "I gave you everything I had"; Austin's (now wife) was in the studio (that's who he's looking at) and he sings "I'll give you everything I've got".

I've never really liked this song, neither the Percy Sledge nor the Michael Bolton version. Still don't really care for the song, but the boys absolutely killed it. As you noted - exceptional backing vocals, Austin flying off into the stratosphere and the always amazing Adam Rupp being the heartbeat of Home Free, as usual. Yum.

If you really enjoy Austin, if you have not viewed his solo of Bring Him Home. This is a song from the Broadway Musical Les Mis. You will see the real Austin and his musical background. It will blow your mind and truly enjoyable

I respect Percy Sledge's version as the original; nice presentation but lacks warmth (IMHO). Michael Bolton's is the version I've had on my playlist for decades.
But--Home Free's version? Austin's high notes are every bit as amazing as the others. And ALL completely acapella?!? With their harmonies and Adam's vocal percussion too?!? No solo act is ever going to best their version as far as I'm concerned. Theirs is now what plays on my regular playlist. In my opinion, Home Free OWNS this song for me now❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️
Home Free was such a great gift to all of us--especially their extra efforts in providing us with excellent music/videos throughout quarantine and the difficult days of isolation we all dealt with during the pandemic. Their creativity in producing the "quarantine" videos--and their commitment to continuing to provide new entertainment throughout (even though they weren't even in the same state!)--has brought along many HF converts. Got to ❤️❤️❤️ Home Free!!

TRULY the best beat boxer on the planet is nailing this percussion part .... but, The Kid from Georgia is going off into stratospheric High Tenor delivery here ..... just makes the original by Percy Sledge = great too - just a another nice tune. To sing it with this quality of intonation, runs, jumps and smooth key change without any change in pitch ...... just A TENOR tearing it up !!! Love it. [ sadly Austin Brown (Here singing lead so great) is leaving the Group around Fall) .... sad for sure.
