I received my set 3 days ago. I can't believe how much technology progressed since my first turbowash LG FL washer (purchased in 2013., I loved it very much). My new set is super quiet, almost no shaking during spin, so many settings for the washer and dryer and I also got sidekick. Very impressed! We put rubber feet, but then removed it. We realized washer makes actual noise with the rubber feet and almost none without it on spin cycle.
My boyfriend and I just stayed at an Airbnb that had this exact set and we loved it so much that we ordered a set for ourselves in black stainless! We didn't even need them since our current LG set is only 4 years old, but we really like these ones so much better!
Ahhh customer service.. they just make it as frustrating as possible in the hopes you will give up and leave them alone. We have an LG washer and Dryer and hope they stay working for a long time but who knows These look nice but the harsh edges and stainless steel means finger print magnet. Remember never to load your washer above 60-70% capacity We have also had problems with the bolt on our washer door, ours is only 4-6 months old so that’s ridiculous I didn’t know you are supposed to tub clean every 30 washes or once a month, but we are doing that now. Just liquid bleach in the drawer and run tub clean once a month. I don’t trust the LG app tho, they’re definitely stealing your data and mine.

Thank you for doing this review! These are the precise units that I am considering for our laundry room. Concerned about reports of paint/finish peeling after a few months or couple of years later. Anything like that happening to your units or other LG appliances?
On what type of flooring is the washing machine installed and at what floor? I am concerned about handling of uneven loads and vibration because the logic and the design do not counterbalance well uneven or small loads. What is your experience? I have a GE650 from 2021 on a second floor laundry room, perfectly level. If the load is not "perfect" it either is very noisy, or it won't spin at all one out of three times. I am also very concerned about LG's service and your experience about a simple screw doesn't inspire much confidence. I am sorry you had to go through it.
Thanks for watching, our 16-year old LG washer and dryer vibrated quite a bit, but the new ones are very smooth. I hope they remain this smooth as time goes by. Our machines are on a slab with vinyl tile that is softer and has better traction than ceramic tile. so far we are really enjoying the machines once I used some thread locking compound to keep the stripped screw from backing out. I wish the LG customer service was better, but we like the washer and dryer so much we bought an LG refrigerator and it's been trouble free and we like it too.
@@Koolbob2 I am planning to replace my GE GSW650 I bought in 2021. It is not very effective in cleaning and when spinning, if it spins, it rattles and takes very often a long time (undecided and "balancing" the load forever). It is on a second floor laundry room with wooden + vinyl pavement. Perfectly level and planted on the floor. It doesn't move anywhere. But it seems the logic and the design is not modern at all and not effective in getting the clothes spinning. That is why I am asking - because before I give away a "working" GE machine (that I purchased thinking it would be modern and because it has an automatic soap dispenser) to purchase another, seemingly, more capable in spinning like the LG, I want to make sure that I am not going to end in the same situation because it has nothing to do with the GE itself, but more on the location of the laundry room and the flooring. As for service, that is another point of worry with LG, although one appliance store here offer has its own service department that kicks in, after the 1 year warranty. Thank you very much.
I received my new LG WM6700HBA last week and did about 15 loads so far. A whole different level of design, technical and material vs the GE. Super quiet. Both drain and TurboWash pumps (if they are not the same). Spins every single time: same floor in the house, same flooring, same position. With some loads it vibrates a bit the frame, but nothing in comparison. 10x better. The GE would shake the house. The pump would wine to no end. No intelligence whatsoever. My unit was made in Vietnam, and for some reason the bleach compartment in the detergent drawer was missing. The store simply gave me one from another unit in display to avoid me waiting for them to get it from LG (very nice of them). I hope that was the only thing missing... :D I do hope this unit will last me many years. But it seems to have been built with quality in mind. Do you have an AI Wash cycle? what is your experience with it?
@@nihilnobody3011 Glad to hear the new machines are working out for you! the only time I use the washer/dryer is to wash big cotton towels or microfiber towels from taking care of the cars. ;) I'll ask my wife about the AI wash cycle.

Thank you for the great review! We were considering getting these or the model below them. I wanted the steam feature for wrinkles, i cant stand them! Do you know if this feature works well or not for that purpose?
We've never used the steam feature so I'll have to give it a try and get back to you. I can tell you that my wife loves them and we have no regrets getting this set.

You could also email or call LG, but the odds of getting someone who knows are pretty slim. I guess you could just try the new units on the old pedestals and if they don't work then you could order the new pedestals?
I too am looking at these to replace my LOUD LG washer bought March 2020. You can hear it through out the house. I think there is a blown shock absorber ( I think it has 3 ) per youtube. I have had Whirlpool, Samsung and LG. Lg is my favorite except for the spin cycle.
Interesting - I have the same issue on my GE GSW650 I bought in 2021. I wonder if they are all COVID lemons. On what type of pavement and on which floor is your washing machine installed?
@@kgflash4Sr I know there isn't a water hookup on our dryer so I asked my wife and we ended up doing a bit or research. There are models that are very similar to ours that have a tray that can hold water for the steam cycle. Ours has a 'Steam' mode that can be selected from the various cycles, and the dryer runs in this mode, but I don't see how it could be a legitimate Steam cycle. I think LG decided to sue the same cycle mode programing on several models, including ours, even though ours isn't equipped to support the Steam mode.
@@Koolbob2 Thank you so much. Out old LG set lasted 12+ years and finally gave out this week. Our old model has a water tray for the steam mode. Interesting that the new model has steam mode. But no water source.
I see where I can tell what cycle is running and how much time is left on a load from the app. I can also turn the washer on and off from the app and I can pause the machine, but I don't believe there's a way to load the machine and have it start at a set time.
Is there a sanitary mode on this model lg5500? I need to replace my old LG front load washer. When you turned the controll button I don't seem to see the sanitary mode function function.
It's just my wife and me and she is diligent about keeping the house tidy and clothes washed. I almost never use the machines, so I'm as familiar with all of the machine's features and modes. I'd recommend checking the LG website for the most complete information on all of the machine's modes and features.
Do you get very much vibration during their operation? I am thinking of making my own risers and wonder how much shake-rattle-and-roll I should plan on for the construction. I have had both top and front loaders and the front didn't seem to be 'possessed' as much as the top loaders when spinning.
Our old LG front load machines vibrated a good bit, especially with small loads. So far these are very smooth and quiet. I'd consider getting installing something like a stall mat on top of a home made riser to isolate the machine from the riser. I'd also consider installing rubber feet under the riser, or even another layer of stall mat. www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/4-ft-x-6-ft-x-3-4-in-thick-rubber-stall-mat
@@rohanb79If your question was for me, I was commenting on top vs front. LOL! Thanks for watching, good to know you enjoy the channel! LG list the washer drum at 4.5 cubic foot. We've been able to wash and dry king size comforters that we used to take to the Laundromat, so it's plenty big. We quit using fabric softener, it leaves too much residue on clothes and makes the screen in the dryer clog with lint. As far as laundry detergent, we have been using whatever front-load powder is on sale, but I think we are going to try scent free once we use up what we have.
Well, it looks like the answer is 'sorta'. I opened the app and I can turn on the dryer from the app, but according to the app "For safety reasons, Remote Start must be turned on from the device control panel before the cycle can be started in the smartphone app."
Our old front load machine sometimes left detergent residue on our king size bedding, but the new ones are doing a great job. Make sure your water valve on the wall is opened all the way and be sure your water supply hose isn't kinked. Other than those two things the only other suggestion I can make is to set the load size to maximum.
